The car sped all the way, Z city truly deserved its reputation as a tourist city, as the receding landscape reflected in Jiang An’s rippling eyes, patches of greenery flashing by fleetingly.

Feeling that he might have said too much, Song Li became a bit incoherent, fearful that Jiang An might mistakenly think of Gao Chuan as a philandering man, and if Gao Chuan found out about this, it might spell trouble for him.

"It’s fine, I know." Jiang An said with a smile, her hands on her knees. She had been acquainted with Gao Chuan long enough to be fairly clear about his basic temperament. If Dr. Gao had indeed been the unfaithful type, she would not have agreed to this marriage.

Sitting next to her driving, Song Li heaved a sigh of relief upon hearing her say this. The car then took another turn down a street and after a short drive, they arrived at the restaurant they had arranged to meet at. After turning off the engine, the man promptly got out of the car and, like a gentleman, opened the door for Jiang An.

Jiang An smiled and said, "Thank you," and the two of them walked into the restaurant side by side.

This time, Song Li chose a time-honored Chinese restaurant, probably because he had learned ahead of time that Jiang An was from the south, and he had specifically selected a table full of Jiangnan dishes. A long time ago, he told me he would study medicine for his family, and after studying medicine, he told me he would become a doctor in oncology. His life seems to have been planned by himself in advance, and he just follows that plan step by step," Song Li opened his heart and shared the thoughts that had been weighing on him for a long time, looking at the girl opposite him who was listening intently to his stories, and he swallowed.

After listening to Song Li, Jiang An was confused. She never knew that Dr. Gao was a bachelor by principle, but she was different. She longed for a sincere love.

Once, while chatting in the dormitory, Xia Zi had asked her whether she would choose to marry someone she loved or someone who loved her. She immediately retorted, asking why she couldn’t have both.
