Chapter 387: Chapter 387 Will you forgive me?

Lilith carefully helped him lie down, her hands steady but tender, as if he were made of something fragile. She slipped into bed beside him, wrapping her arms around his trembling frame, her chin resting softly on his chest.

The room was dim. The only sound was his heartbeat, pounding fast under her ear.

Then the door creaked slightly, and a familiar voice chirped through.

"MISS LILITH~~ I HAVE ARRIVED—"

Lilith immediately raised one hand, gesturing for silence, her brows twitching.

Miss Sparkleton, with her sparkly pink lights and overly dramatic tone, froze mid-spin, blinked, then twirled around and bowed like a polite ballerina robot. "My deepest apologies for the disturbance," she whispered and backed out like a queen’s servant, leaving the two alone once again.

Ray giggled softly under his breath, and Lilith felt it echo in his chest.

"Miss Mystery?" he whispered.

"Yeah?" Her voice was soft, dreamy. Her eyes were half-lidded, drinking in his scent. His warmth. Her cheek nuzzled closer, heart slowly melting.

"...Will you forgive me?" he asked.

There was a pause.

Then Lilith slowly lifted her head and looked into his innocent, shimmering eyes. She leaned up and kissed his forehead, so gently it made him shiver.

"Of course," she whispered.

His lips curled into the softest, most genuine smile. A boyish joy bloomed in his expression.

"I had asked someone to build Miss Sparkleton for you," he confessed, like a little child showing a secret gift. "I know you love Sir Sparkleton... but when we’re together, I always felt like he was... well... a third wheel."

Lilith blinked, lips twitching into a smile.

"So I had Miss Sparkleton created. They’re officially married now," he said proudly, eyes lighting up like stars. "We can even do double dates, Miss Mystery! Just us... and them..."

He laughed to himself softly. "And I know about your ESE project. I love it. I think it’s brilliant... and maybe... one day... I can experience that with you too."

Lilith didn’t answer with words.

Her head lowered again onto his chest, listening to that quickened heartbeat, racing like a boy on his first adventure. Her fingers brushed over his hand gently, lacing their fingers together.

And though she didn’t say it out loud, in her heart she thought—

This Human... is mine.

No matter how many personalities lived inside him...

No matter how broken the world thought he was...

To her, he was beautiful.

And They lay there quietly, tangled together like this for while. Lilith’s head rested gently on Ray’s chest, right above his heart. She could hear it—racing like a little drum, each thump steady and alive. Ray’s arms were wrapped loosely around her, like he was scared she might disappear if he let go. His fingers played lazily with the strands of her hair, and he looked down at her with a small smile curving his lips.

Then he blinked suddenly, as if remembering something important.

"Um... Miss Mystery?" he whispered, his voice low and curious, like a kid trying not to wake the world. "Who’s that guy again? That Kai something? And—and what’s his name... yeah, yeah—Jackson!"

Lilith didn’t lift her head, but her eyes narrowed, amused. "Kai and Jackson?"

Ray nodded with a completely serious face, like he was reporting a government conspiracy. "Yes! Gray is very jealous. He’s been stomping around in our head like a dad outside a delivery room. I haven’t had a moment of peace...."

Lilith raised her head slightly from his chest, one brow arched. "Gray is jealous?"

"Yeah yeah!" Ray nodded quickly, looking pitiful. "He kept roaming in head worriedly. He’s walking in circles. I can’t even sleep properly! Poor Gray..."

Lilith chuckled softly, her voice amused. "And you? You’re not jealous?"

"Of course I am!" Ray said quickly, frowning. "But Gray is so jealous... he kept reminding me again and again! Like—’Ray, what if she smiled at him? What if she touched his hand?!’ He even wanted to ask Sir Sparkleton to spy!"

Lilith laughed, pressing her face against his chest again.

Ray pouted, whispering, "I’m jealous too, but I have to take care of Gray first... he’s sulking so much, like he just lost the lottery."

Lilith smiled, her eyes warm. "So much trouble," she whispered.

Ray looked proud. "But your trouble."

The morning light filtered through the curtains like gold threads, dancing gently across the floor. Everything felt unusually quiet.

Lilith blinked awake slowly, stretching lazily before sitting up. But she paused when she saw someone standing near her bed.

It was Gray.

He was already dressed in the spare clothes she kept for him inside her wardrobe—a dark shirt paired with a soft sweater that clung gently to his frame. He looked like he hadn’t slept at all.

His usual calm eyes were unreadable, but his presence... it felt heavy.

Lilith slipped out of bed and padded toward the bathroom, emerging moments later in her soft white pajamas. Unaware of how breathtaking she looked in the pale morning light, she moved with quiet grace—her hair cascading over her shoulders, her skin glowing faintly. She drifted to the vanity, smoothing her hair absently before turning back.

Gray was still staring at her.

"Come here," he said quietly.

His voice was serious. Too serious.

Lilith frowned, stepping closer. She sat down beside him on the edge of the bed, her movements slow, sensing something was off.

"Lili..." he whispered. His voice had changed—deeper, more fragile.

Her heart sank.

"What’s wrong?" she asked, searching his face. There was a flicker of emotion in his eyes that he usually hid so well.

Gray didn’t answer immediately. His eyes shifted downward, blinking slowly. The corners of his eyes were faintly red, and there was something stuck in his throat like words he couldn’t speak yet.

Lilith gently placed a hand on his, squeezing softly.

"Tell me," she said, her voice low and smooth. "Whatever it is, just tell me."

He looked at her then—really looked. And Lilith saw it.

The fear.

The pain.

And something else.

Something heartbreaking.

He showed her something on his phone.

Lilith took the device and saw....
