Destroy My Life In You
Chapter 81: Dark Times Begin

Chapter 81: Dark Times Begin

For a long moment, they remained wrapped in each other’s, their bodies intertwined. Ravenna traced lazy patterns on his damp skin, still trembling from the aftershocks.

"You feel... so good," She whispered against his lips.

Alaric let out a low chuckle, his fingers trailing down her spine. "You’re trouble," he murmured, pressing a lingering kiss to her shoulder.

She smiled, tilting her head to meet his gaze. "And you love it."

His eyes darkened slightly. "I do," he admitted softly, kissing her collarbone.

Ravenna’s breath caught at the tenderness in his voice, but before she could say anything, Alaric effortlessly walked with her in his arms, towards the shore.

As he ladies her onto the soft grass, the warmth of the sun caressed her damp skin. He hovered over her, his gaze roaming over her.

"You know I don’t stop at just one round, right?"

Ravenna smiled and reached up, tracing his lips with her fingers. "I never said to stop," She whispered. "Kiss me."

Alaric obeyed without hesitation, capturing her lips in a slow, passionate kiss, as he sank into her once more. But instead of moving, he stilled, buried deep I side her.

Ravenna let out a low, frustrated whimper, shifting slightly. He was teasing her, deliberately withholding the pleasure he had ignited in her.

"Alaric..." She clenched around him, trying to draw him into motion, but he remained still, his grip firm on her hips.

His smirk was maddening. "Patience, love."

Ravenna let out a soft growl of protest, then, unable to bear the ache any longer, she began moving her hips, slow, tentative rolls at first, then more desperate as she sought her own pleasure.

Alaric groaned his restraint, faltering. His hands flexed on her waist, hodling her still for a moment before letting her move as she pleased. His jaw clenched as he watched her lose herself, her body writhing beneath him.

"That’s it," he whispered darkly, voice restrained. "Keep going."

Ravenna quickened her pace, pleasure coiling tighter with every movement. But even as she chased her release, she knew he was holding back, barely keeping himself from taking over. And she didn’t want him to hold back.

"Alaric..." She gasped, nails digging into his arms. "Please... Fuck me."

Something snapped inside him. His erection grew big inside her as a low growl rumble from his chest. Alaric siezed her hips, and thrust hard into her, the sudden intensity stealing breath from her lungs. He set a punishing pace, his movements deep, rough, and relentless.

Ravenna cried out, arching her back as waves of pleasure came crashing through her. "Alaric...I’m...I’m close."

"Then come for me," he commanded, his voice raw.

With one last deep thrusts, her body tensed, then shattered as pleasure consumed her. Her cries rang through the forest, but Alaric didn’t stop even for a moment.

Before she could recover, he pushed her limits again, dragging her into another overwhelming peak. Her body trembled beneath him, pleasure bordering on too much.

"Alaric...ah!" She screwed his name, as another climax crashed over her, leaving her utterly weak beneath him.

Alaric groaned, his thrusts turning erratic and desperate. With a final deep thrust, he buried himself for the hilt, his body tensing as he spilled inside her with a shuddering growl. His forehead dropped to the crook of her neck, his breath ragged. For a moment, neither of them moved, both lost in lingering waves of pleasure.

Then, after what felt like an eternity, Alaric finally lifted himself, his lips brushing against her temple. "I’ll let you off for now," he murmured. "So you cam explore the island as planned." He laid down beside her.

Ravenna let out a breathless laugh, too spent to respond. Instead, she curled into him, letting the warmth of the sun and the steady weather of his heart lull her into a blissful exhaustion.

"We can always continue later."

**************

The smell of sizzling meat filled the air, mixed with the rich aroma of spices. The fire cracked softly casting a warm glow over the kitchen.

Alaric stood by the stove, focused on the meal before him. His sleeves were rolled up, his hands moving with practised ease. The contrast was really amusing. The King of darkness, preparing dinner like it was his second nature.

Ravenna sat on a high wooden chair, near the door, her arms crossed, lips pushed into a sulking pout. She had tried to help, but after knocking over a jar of salt, nearly setting a towel on fire and almost slicing her own finger, Alaric had unceremoniously banned her from the kitchen.

She let out a dramatic sigh. "This isn’t fair."

Alaric didn’t even look at her. "It is fair."

"No, it’s not." Her fingers tapped against the wooden surface. "I can learn."

"Hmm."

His lack of interest made her frown deeper. She watched him work, his movements smooth and efficient.

Ravenna leaned forward, resting her chin on her hands. "How do you even know how to cook?"

Tham made him pause. He tilted his head a bit, but didn’t turn to face her.

"I mean, you’re a vampire," She continued. "It’s not like you need food to survive. Blood sustains you, doesn’t it?"

For a brief moment, Alaric just stood there unmoving. Then, he smiled, his expression unreadable. He resumed chopping vegetables, his knife gliding effortlessly through them.

"Alaric?" Ravenna pressed, narrowing her eyes. "You’re ignoring me."

Still, he said nothing.

She let put an exaggerated groan and slid off the chair, walking barefoot toward him. He had taken away her fun by kicking her out of the cooking process, so now she would find entertainment another way.

Standing behind him, she slipped her arms around his waist, resting her cheek on his back. He smelled like saltwater and warmth, mixed with the rich aroma of the meal he was preparing.

Alaroc stilled for a fraction of a second before resuming slicing. "What are you doing?"

Ravenna tilted her head, picking at the pan on the stove. The aroma of perfectly seasoned meat and spices made her stomach growl. She inhaled deeply, a pleased hum escaping her lips. "Smelling."

"Smelling?" He arched a brow.

"Mhm."

Alaric turned around, glancing down at her. His hands went down on her hips, hoing her in place. Then he leaned closer to her face, and whispered, "Hungry?"

Ravenna nodded hurriedly.

His grip on her tightened a little, then leaned closer to her ear. "Hungry for food... or for me?" He murmured his voice dangerously smooth.

Ravenna froze for a moment, but she quickly covered it with a dramatic eye roll, then smacked his arm. "Behave. This is the kitchen."

Alaric chuckled, clearly unbothered. She tried pushing him away, but his hold remained firm, and even pulled her closer making sure she felt his erection.

Ravenna stopped wiggling and raised her eyes to meet his. A knowing smirk crept onto her lips gradually. "Oh? My bad."

Alaric did not flinch, but there was the faintest twitch in his jaw.

"Shouldn’t you take responsibility?"

"For what?" Ravenna snapped, gazing at her pleadingly. She had lost count of how many times they had done it today and didn’t have the energy for another round. It was best if she fled, but the problem was his strong arms which wouldn’t barge no matter how hard she tried.

Alaric did not reply and just slightly moved his hips, rubbing his manhood on her.

Ravenna gulped and tried as much not to be tempted. She bit her lip, eyes sparkling with mischief. She could feel heat from his body to hers, and the way his fingers flexed against her lower back.

Then, as if remembering something, she gasped dramatically and pointed towards the stove. "Alaric! The food! It’s burning!"

His eyes widened, and instinctively, he turned back. But then, the pan was perfectly fine.

Realization dawned too late. By the time he spun back around, all he saw was Ravenna’s retreating figure, her laughter echoing through the kitchen as she dashed away.

Alaric let out a low laughter, the a wry smirk tugged on his lip. "You little minx."

His focus went back on the task, another rare laughter escaping his mouth. "I’ll deal with you later."

For now, he let her win. But only for now.

Silver Pack

A broad figure stood before the Alpha. A thought to be long dead by Ravenna. Jaxon. He had just fi wished narrating all the happenings, as everyone listened in tense silence, until he was done.

"Alpha, there’s something else very important you should know. It’s about Ravenna," his voice was steady, but there was something dark in his tone.

At the mention of her name, a few murmurs spread across the room. Alpha Derek gaze darkened too as he gestured Jaxon to to continue.

"She’s involved with the Vampire King."

A ripple of shock spread through the council members. Alpha Derek was also not able to mask his shock either.

"Not just involved, but she said he’s her mate," Jaxon exhaled through his nose, his jaw tightening.

A heavy silence settle over the court room.

"How’s that possible?"

"A wolfless outcast and a vampire?"

Alpha Derek’s expression remained unreadable, but the air around him shifted, growing heavier.

"The person is indeed the Vampire King. I confirmed it. But him being her mate is impossible. She might have been manipulated into thinking so." Jaxon added.

"Manipulation does not work on someone with the Alpha’s blood."

"But she has no wolf."

"And moreover, how is it possible for a vampire to be mated to a wolf? That’s unheard of."

"Silence!" Alpha Derek roared. "It’s not impossible. The Vampire King is a hybrid, have you forgotten?"

Everyone agreed in unison.

"Where are they?" The question was directed to Jaxon.

Jaxon met his gaze. "An island. Just the two of them."

Alpha Derek’s finger’s curled into fists at his sides, and he stood up from the throne. "Organise the best warriors. Ravenna and the Vampire King must be capture as soon as possible, before they attack the pack."

A few council members exchanged glances, but no one objected.

"We don’t know what she has told them so we have to be prepared and catch them by surprise." Alpha Derek continued. "Our main priority should be Ravenna. Once caught, retreat instantly or if possible, the Vampire King should be caught too. But if he gets too troublesome, kill him."

Silent murmurs spread across the room as the Alpha left. There was tension among the council. For centuries, none of the supernaturals had dared cross each other, especially the Vampire King who was the main reason for the division between the four kinds. Vampires, wolves, witches and humans. And now, the Alpha had impulsively ordered on attack on the same man. How could they not be wary? But on the other side, it would not be wise to go against their Alpha. Thus, they all left to carry out the orders.
