The morning sun filtered through the dense canopy of trees as Ravenna and Alaric wandered through the lush greenery of the island. The air smelled fresh, filled with an earthy scent of damp leaves and occasional sweetness of wildflowers. Ravenna, as expected, filled the silence with endless chatter while Alaric followed beside her, his hands lazily tucked into his pockets.

"Then I told Seth, ’If you ever steal my food again, I’ll hex you into a toad.’ You should’ve seen his face! I think he actually believed me," Ravenna said, laughing as she kicked a small pebble along the path.

"Mm," Alaroc responded in his usual way, acknowledging but never fully engaging.

Ravenna rolled her eyes. "Honestly, sometimes I wonder if you ever listen to me."

Alaric glanced at her. "I do."

"Whatever. I’ll never get used to your mood swings. One moment, you are silent, the other you are being chatty, then you switch to coldness and later surprise me with your sweetness. Huh!" Ravenna sighed, shaking her head. "What did I say earlier?" She asked, hodling her waist.

Alaroc stared blankly at her. "... Something about food," he answered vaguely.

Ravenna groaned lightly, smacking his arm. "Unbelievable."

As they walked deeper into the forest without a particular direction, her attention was drawn to the branches above, where small, round fruits hung temptingly. "Oh! Wild berries!" She reached up and plucked a handful, grinning. "Let’s try some..."

Before she could bring one to her lips, Alaroc swiftly snatched them from her grasp, his movement seamless. "Poisonous." His voice was calm as ever, but his eyes filled with a fleeting worry.

Ravenna blinked at her now empty hand. "You’re kidding."

Alaric held one of the berries between his fingers. "You have a habit of eating things without thinking."

Ravenna huffed, crosing her arms. "I do not."

Alaric shot her a knowing look.

"Fine, maybe sometimes," She admitted. "But how do you know they are poisonous? They just look like the ones I used to eat back in the camp and...home."

"I’ve lived long enough to know," he said, tossing the berries away, then flicked her forehead lightly.

Ravenna pouted. "Great. Now I’m hungry and hurting." Rubbing her forehead.

She was about to complain more when a distant sound caught her attention. It was a soft rhythmic gushing, like water flowing over rocks. Her ears pucked up attentively, " Do you hear that?"

Before Alaric could reply, she spun her heels and bolted towards the source.

"Ven. Be careful." Alaric sighed, watching her disappear through the trees. Without hurry, he followed.

Ravenna crashed through the bushes, heart pounding in excitement. The sound grew clearer until she emerged into an open space and gasped.

Before her stood a waterfall, cascading into a crystal clear pool. The scene was utterly breathtaking. A wide grin spread across her face as she turned to Alaric, who had just arrived behind her. "Look at this!"

Alaric’s gaze swept over the water, unimpressed. "Mm."

Ravenna didn’t waste another second. She pulled off her shirt and slipped out her shorts, leaving only underwear before stepping into the cool, inviting water.

Alaric’s eyes darkened slightly as he watched her but said nothing.

Ravenna let out a delightful sigh as she submerged herself, revealing in the refreshing sensation. "This feels amazing." She swam a bit further, letting out satisfied moans, before she turned to Alaric. "You should join me."

Alaric leaned against a tree, arms crossed. "No."

Ravenna frowned, then pouted. "Oh, come on, don’t be such a bore. The water’s perfect."

"No. Just do your think I’ll wait here."

She swam closer treading the water. "Please?"

Silence.

She fluttered her eyelashes dramatically, and made it look like she was about to breakdown. "Pleaaaase?"

Alaric exhaled slowly, then without another word, began unbuttoning his shirt. Ravenna’s eyes flickered to his bare chest as he shrugged it off, revealing the sharp lines of his muscles.

Her breath hitched slightly, but she quickly composed herself. She had seen him shirtless before. No big deal.

Then, he unfastened his belt and slipped off his pants.

Okay, now it was a big deal watching his bulge hidden under his boxer.

Swallowing, she quickly turned away focusing on the ripples in the water instead of the tempting goddamn vampire.

Alaric finally took of his boxer and threw them to hell knows where, then stepped into the water. "Don’t blame me later. It’s all your fault," he murmured to himself, staring at Ravenna’s back.

Ravenna peeked over her shoulder, only to find him watching her knowingly.

"Shameless," he whispered.

"I was not looking!" She defended, cheeks heating.

Alaric smirked and swam toward her. Instinctively, Ravenna dove under the water, evading him. She kicked her legs propelling herself further before surfacing away from the shore. Giggling, she looked around. "Catch me if you can!"

Alaric tilted his head. "You’re challenging me?"

"Yes! And no cheating or using your vampire speed." She stuck out her tongue playfully before disappearing under the water again.

Moments passed and she surfaced once more, taking a deep breath. Looking around, Alaric was nowhere to be seen. She waited for a while but still, he never surfaced and the was still, with no signs of a person’s movements.

Frowning, she turned in the water, scanning further for any signs of him. "Alaric?"

Silence.

Her heartbeat quickened. "Okay, not funny. Where are..."

Suddenly, something wrapped her ankle, and before she could react, she was yanked beneath the surface. A yank escaped, but only bubbles rose as she was pulled into Alaric’s strong embrace under the water.

She was about to protest but her lips were sealed in a deep, heated kiss. His cool lips contrasting with the warmth of her own, and the weightless feeling of being submerged, only implified the rush of emotions.

Her lungs burned for air, but she found herself sinking further into the moment, as her fingers gripped his shoulders and his arms tightened around her waist.

Just as her body reached its limit, Alaric propelled them both upward. They broke through the surface, Ravenna inhaling heavily as she clung to him, her breathing coming in ragged pants. Her hands rested on his shoulders, his hand still firmly on her waist, keeping her close.

Even with her current situation, Ravenna could not deny the heat between them was undeniable. The thought of doing it in their excited her crazily. She could already feel her core throbbing with need to filled by him.

"Alaric..." She moaned, then pressed her forehead against him.
