Destroy My Life In You
Chapter 53: Jealous Alaric

Chapter 53: Jealous Alaric

I had never felt so happy and wanted in my entire life. I now had everything I ever desired; a home, a family, and most of all, a mate who cared about me immensely even though sometimes he tended to go overboard with his overprotectiveness and possessiveness

Luckily, Alaric had allowed me to tour around without supervision thrice in a week. Though it wasn’t convenient for me but I decided to follow his arrangements to avoid any disputes and also his claim that some people were after my life.

I was only a corner away from Alaric’s company when I felt someone was following me. This was not the first time I had felt so, but now, the person felt so close.

I paused but did not turn around, and as I was about to run, I bumped into something hard and almost fell if someone had not held my hand.

Mt breath almost stopped when I saw the person standing in front of me. Someone I never thought I would see again in this lifetime.

"Jaxon," I murmured silently, my eyes glued unblinkingly at him. "Why are you here?"

My mind had come to a stop as memories of the past swept me into another world. Every laughter, smile, pain, and sorrow I had gone through; the man standing before me knew all about it. He was like a shadow that had disappeared in a long, dark night, which I never expected to ever return. But here he was.

I fell into a state of confusion and was only brought back when J felt him engulfing me into his embrace. With a soft, surprised gasp, I tried pushing him away gently, but he wouldn’t let go.

"I have missed you so much," Jaxon whispered into my ear, which made me go numb for a moment. I stood still and waited till her let go.

"Why are you here?" I asked, taking a step back to avoid anybody contact with him. For some reason, I felt uncomfortable and uneasy, like I was committing a grave mistake, or precisely, I was betraying my mate.

"I... couldn’t help it anymore. I miss you terribly, Ravenna, and want you back. I... Come back with me, let’s go home. I’ll talk to your father and maybe..."

"No!" I interrupted with a stern tone, clearly indicating my displeasure. "My home is in this city now, and I don’t have a father."

Jaxon tried to hold my hand, but I stepped back with a slight shake. He sighed but did not go and only stared at me silently.

"Ravenna, I understand what happened to you was unfair, and you’ve every right to be angry. But everyone misses you. I miss..."

"Stop it." Though I was getting irritated, I kept my cool not to create a scene there. In my mind and whole being, Silver Pack and I had no relation, and never in this lifetime would I go back to that place willingly. Even if the pain of that might have lessened, I still remember how no one stood up for me. My father, Jaxon himself, abandoned me too, and everyone else I trusted. Only two people tried, but their efforts were all in vain, her elder brother and sister.

"Jaxon, please just leave form here. You and I ended the same very night you left me in the forest after realising I couldn’t shift. And moreover, I already found my mate, and I bet he wouldn’t like me hanging out with an ex-fiance."

I knew I had hit the nail when I saw Jaxon stagger a little and hid eyes flicker with emotions. "Mate? How?"

"Even if I could not shift, I still have some werewolf abilities, so I can also feel the mate bond. Maybe someday I’ll also be able to shift and wipe away the curse everyone believed I had been put on. If it happens, I’ll still never step my foot into Silver Pack."

I passed past him walking as fast as my legs could carry me, but Jaxon appeared before me again. This was the moment I hated not being able to move in a light speed.

"I don’t believe you. You... are just lying... to drive me away, right?" I couldn’t miss the desperation in his voice.

"No, I am not. I found my mate, and he’s also a werewolf. Actually, I am going to see him right now, so if you’ll excuse me, I’ll get going."

I ran, and luckily, he didn’t stop me. I went straight into Alaric’s office, but my mind was still occupied with what had happened. It wasn’t like Silver Pack to allow their members to leave the pack unauthorised. So, if Jaxon was here, it meant there was a big reason behind it, and not only that, he had missed me as he claimed. I took a long sigh and decided to stay out of it. I was not a part of the pack anymore, so his business had nothing to do with me.

I stood outside Alaric’s office door for some seconds before going in. Looking around, I could see the person I expected anywhere. It was already past twilight, and he had no meeting.

"Did he leave for home after promising to wait for me?" I asked particularly to no one. "Huh! What a lair!" I was pissed and I turned to leave but bumped into someone. It seemed like today wasn’t my day.

Before I could even comprehend what was going on due to the pain on my forehead, my hand was grabbed roughly, and I ended up being thrown to the couch.

"You’ve got some nerve hugging some other man." I heard Alaric murmuring near my face, and my eyes shot open at that moment. So he had not left. "Who is he?"

I went silent for a moment, then blinked my eyes innocently. "Who is who?"

Alaric hissed, rubbing his temple in annoyance. "Don’t play smart with me, Ven. Who is he?"

I already knew what he was talking about but decided to tease a little bit. It wasn’t every time I got this chance, and moreover, he always had the upper hand in everything concerning my life, and so it wouldn’t be bad teasing him a little. I patted myself inwardly and didn’t realize I was grinning foolishly.

"Seems like I have been too lenient on you," he added, staring daggers into my eyes.

Without a word, I hugged his neck and pouted. "I didn’t mean to do it, but he was really handsome. I couldn’t resist, and so I..."

With every single word that came out of my mouth, it only made the man’s gloomy face grow darker. What a jealous man.

"Ven!" He groaned in frustration before biting my lip hard but not enough to make me bleed. But it wasn’t time to stop, not yet.

"I tried a lot. I really did, but he... he looked like an angel who had descended straight from heaven and his angelic charm... I just couldn’t say no. I have never seen such a handso..."

I couldn’t complete my words, and he was at it again. Nibbling my lips roughly. "I’ll show you what devil I am today."

He tore my blouse bringing me back to reality. But I wouldn’t stop him. It wasn’t every time Alaric initiated intimacy, and even if he did, he would stop midway and I had to threaten him.

"I want to see what you’ve got," I whispered on his lips then kissed him back.

"My pleasure, sweetheart."
