Chapter 33: Samsara

I did not relent from his rough kiss and instead, matched his intensity, reciprocating with equal passion. It felt so good and right. My fear of him had vanished and the love and desire only he could ignite in me took over. My life, heart, body and soul had fallen into his hands unknowingly, since I met him and will always be. I willingly and silently surrendered myself to him at that moment, with a vow to make him love me back. For now, I knew he also could not resist me, having witnessed how strongly he reacted when it came to physical attraction, which meant I had an upper hand. As long as I was of interest to him, I had lots of chances to steal his heart. The only problem was how I would do it, and for that, I needed advice from the minister of love and evil affairs. Good thing he had informed he would be coming back to the city the next day.

"What are thinking about?" I heard Alaric ask after he withdrew from the kiss breaking me out of the stupor.

"How to tame a handsome devil." I replied loudly which I had not intended to do.

"And who could that handsome devil be?" His hand travelled on my hair tucking a strand behind my ear.

I bit my lip and just stared back at him. Those dark eyes, holding dark secrets behind them, yet could make someone drown in them. Subconsciously, my hand went up to them admiringly but paused midway when I remembered something, how two weeks ago those same very eyes were glowing and changing colours. I had almost forgotten about those strange incidents after been away for so long.

"You never told me how you, that woman...Nyssa and also now Zeke are able to change your eye colour when angry. Is it some kind of a code or something?"

Rubbing my cheek one last time, he sat back before replying, "It’s not important."

If it was not important then he would have no problem telling me, which meant there was secret behind it. "You just don’t want to tell me."

"If you know that then don’t ask." He replied coldly, cutting me deeply. I guess I could never get used to his dismissive and uncaring nature.

The car came to a stop before I could any word and then did I realize that my mind had been swept away from the topic of where I was being taken to. I remained in the car not intending to go out in case another untoward incident fell upon me. I was getting comfortable thinking Alaric had left without me after seeing I was not following, only to have the door I was leaning on opened and fell on man’s arms. I closed my eyes and resigned willingly because I knew there was no way I could fight him off.

"Do I have to go?" He nodded instantly without a word and pulled me out by my arm. "Where are you even taking me?"

"Don’t fret yet, it’s not a slaughter house." He said straitening up his clothes and held my hand dragging me inside a place written ’Samsara’. The only relief was that the place was at least not in the middle of a forest even if it was still in a remote area, with only a few buildings around.

True to his words, the place was quite vibrant than anticipated, considering how it looked from outside, this was heaven on earth. Neon lights in shades of crimson, violet and electric blue flickered rhythmically, casting patterns across the dimly lit room. That was not all, there was loud music and on the dance floor, there were female erotic dancers on poles, men on the ground enjoying the view while showering them with notes. This was not what I expected.

"Follow me." I heard Alaric whisper to my ear and I almost wanted to refute and have more of this, but I moved obediently eyes sparkling with joy watching the lively place.

We went through a red door that was on the right side of the dance floor and I could not hold it anymore watching the scene before me. "Bloody hell! What heaven is this full of these godly creatures. Sooo fucking hot. Damn man, you should have brought me here earl..." I swallowed my words as my eyes met Alaric’s, who looked less than amused. Worse, I was tapping on his shoulder like a fellow partner in crime.

I looked away every movement deliberate and unhurried, but I just had to look back at those damn hot, handsome and shirtless male strippers. I tried to avert my gaze from there but it was beyond the realm of possibility.

"Damn you woman!" I heard Alaric cursing before I felt my body being dragged while my whole attention was focused on the male dancers.

It was only after we had gone out of that room did I regain my mind. I fanned my myself blowing out air out of my mouth to reduce the amount of heat radiating on my body.

"Do you come here often?" I asked Alaric who was still dragging me along to only he knew where.

"Shut up!" As usual, his reply was short and dismissive but I didn’t give up though I knew I would get nothing out it.

"Don’t be stingy. Please tell me, I would like to visit more once am free."

The man took an abrupt stop and pushed me to the wall on the hallway that were now in. "To stare at those good for nothing strippers you were thirsting at, right?"

If it were someone else then I would have accepted right away but with this possessive man, that would be like digging my own grave. "No. Not at all. There are many things that I could do than stare at some ugly good for nothing strippers. Like dancing, drinking and..."

"Dancing?" He interrupted his lips forming an evil smirk that I did not like at all. "If you are so fond of dancing then you can do so for me tonight. A special dance," He whispered the last words then retreated and walked away still dragging me along.

I was beyond shocked hearing him say that, knowing he was no man of joke. Me? Dancing? And a special dance too? Images of me dancing like those female strippers flashed in my mind driving me into a world of bewildment. Hell no way would I do that.

"Alaric, I can’t do..."

"Am not asking." He pulled me to his side as we disappeared into the dark hallway.
