DESTINY GAMES
Chapter 366 - 366: More Complications.

Kelvin glanced at the moving shelled base beside him and thought to himself, "I wonder if Explosive Fist and Juggernaut's Force abilities can help me crack the defenses of these shelled prawns."

He wanted to give it a try. In theory it should work. The Explosive Fist ability should be able to cause all the force that he had accumulated with his speed to explode within the shell of wayfarers and cause the shell to rupture.

That is the theory or the hypothesis. He would like to experiment and put the theory into practice. Unfortunately, he is behind enemy lines fighting against an enemy while working with a future enemy. He has to keep his cards close to his chest, or he will be the first one targeted when the current ally becomes an enemy.

As he was watching, nothing went wrong with the mission of the two speedsters. They were able to get close to the wayfarer even though it was wary of them because it was preoccupied with fending off Crystal Magi.

Once they got close enough, they simply found the access point and tossed grenades into it. The acid, napalm, and shrapnel grenades exploded and splashed their contents everywhere.

The acid ate into the shell while napalm burned everything around it, and the radioactive shrapnel killed anything vampiric on contact. The three of them ensured that the wayfarer stopped soon after. Then it died.

Next it was the turn of the other soldiers to infiltrate and clear out the wayfarer. This time around, the hole was so big that no one had to bend down to pass through it.

Another difference was that the acid had eaten a hole through the wall of the shell into the adjoining tunnel. They didn't care about this and stuck to their battle plan, which was to raid the tunnels from one end to the core.

Kelvin briefly entertained using acid to carve out a path from the outer shell to the core of the shell. It would be a straight line to the core instead of the circular meandering that they have to do if they follow the normal path of the tunnel.

But he didn't do this because he doesn't think it will be fast enough for him to reach the core before Crystal Magi kills the librarian. He also doesn't want his soldiers to be besieged from all sides because of the shortcut.

It was better to take things slowly and face the vampires from one direction so that they wouldn't be caught off guard by an ambush from their sides. Besides, Crystal Magi killing the enemy librarian means that he can continue to hide his resistance to mental attacks for longer.

The more he thought about his abilities, the more he couldn't help but believe that he was the natural predator that the Kunuts lacked. All of their attack and defense mechanisms were useless against him.

It is a good thing for him, as it will secure his life when things go south between the Kunuts and the Yggdrasil civilization. But it can be bad for him if the Kunuts find out about his nature and send their demigods after him.

If it were the demigods of the elves or even a primordial vampire, he wouldn't be afraid because he has the spatial anchor ability. He can escape if he encounters them.

Unfortunately in the Umbra world, there is no running from the librarians whose minds can cover the whole planet and attack him from anywhere. If he can't hide from them while being in front of them, he surely can't hide regardless of the distance away from them.

But he wasn't scared too much. He said to himself with a smirk, "It is not yet certain who should be scared of whom."

The soldiers moved forward step by step, killing the vampires. Things were a little difficult because these vampires were stronger. But the most difficulty came from the fact that there were still a lot of Kunuts alive in the wayfarer.

These Kunuts were kept alive and bred as food for the vampires. The vampires were few in number and only fed sparingly on the other Kunuts so as not to kill off their source of food.

With living Kunuts standing in the way, the soldiers couldn't unleash all their firepower and clear out everything in their way. They had to work together with Crystal Magi to clear out the living obstacles while killing the vampires.

The fight was only a little more difficult than the previous ones. But it was more tedious and took longer because they had to save some people.

Even so, no soldier complained because this was better than doing nothing within the wayfarer. They were also going to be rewarded for the people they saved, so they didn't mind the extra work.

It was truly extra work. Instead of 22 hours, it took them 74 hours to clear out the wayfarer. This was because this wayfarer was bigger than the last one and because they had to save people.

As usual, the core was empty of the librarian. But this time, Kelvin didn't bother to question Crystal Magi about the missing librarian. He only reported the process and outcome of the mission to Command. Then he moved on.

This was what he and his team of soldiers did. They went all over the world looking for wayfarers infested with vampires and clearing them out.

The vampires had to hole up within a living wayfarer, as that was the only way for them to hide from the cold winds and the demigods looking for them. Only when other librarians were physically close to vampires could they sense them through the magnetic field of the living wayfarers.

So the vampires couldn't kill the wayfarers they were living in, or they would be exposed. They also couldn't kill every living thing within the wayfarer, or they would run out of food and need to attack other wayfarers, which would expose them.
