DESTINY GAMES
Chapter 362 - 362: No Shame.

He was certain of this because of the debilitating effect of the bullet and the sensory overload tactic.

The bullet alone was enough to give the soldiers an overwhelming advantage. One bullet was enough to kill the vampires. The single bullet will cause the vampire to collapse and turn into dust in a few seconds.

This was soft course because the vampires were very weak. Stronger vampires will be able to resist the lethal effect of the special bullets for much longer. Some of them might even be able to remove the special bullets and heal.

As for these weak ones, their fate was sealed with just one bullet. But there wasn't just one bullet; there was a hail of them.

To top it off, the vampires didn't know where the bullets were coming from. They couldn't dodge the bullets because of the sensory overload.

And when they were hit by one bullet, it was highly likely that they would be hit by more. So in no time, the vampires were felled.

There was no difficulty whatsoever. The soldiers laughed and had fun doing their job. After a while, they had to return to replenish their supplies.

They didn't go back all the way to the entry point to leave the shell. Instead, they used an acid grenade to create a new access point. They used this access point to return for supplies.

They returned soon after to resume the job. The job wouldn't be over until they cleared the shell. So they still had a couple of hours left to go.

While the soldiers were fighting the vampires in the shell, Crystal Magi, their allied librarian, was having a chat with the librarian of the infested wayfarer.

Crystal Magi's body was far away at the core of his wayfarer, but his mind was powerful enough to reach the core of the target.

This would have been very difficult to do if the wayfarer was still alive. But the wayfarer was dead, which made the librarian lose its protection.

Crystal Magi still had the help of his wayfarer while the enemy librarian was alone. It was two against one. Not only was Crystal Magi strong enough to reach the enemy librarian, but he was also strong enough to prevent the enemy librarian from attacking the Yggdrasil civilization army.

The enemy librarian had become a giant humanoid prawn. It had a shape that was similar to the xenomorphs, but it was bigger and stronger. It was also white.

Its complexion and appearance indicated that it had become a higher vampire. This wasn't surprising because the librarian was already one of the strongest Kunuts in the city before it was infested with vampires.

In fact, Command believes that the librarians were the first vampires in each city. Even if they weren't, they were likely to be the ones who allowed vampires to enter their city. After all, they are the leaders of each city and the ones who determine who leaves and enters the city.

This suspicion is further supported by the fact that it was the librarians who contacted the primordial vampire. They were the ones who negotiated with the primordial vampire, built the portal that brought it to this world, and also reached out to the Yggdrasil civilization when things didn't go their way.

This information had been shared with Crystal Magi through Kelvin. Yet, Crystal Magi was surprised when he saw what his fellow librarian had become.

He said, "I am ashamed for you."

The librarian didn't feel shame. It couldn't feel shame at all. All it felt was power and lust for more power.

It asked Crystal Magi, "What is there to be ashamed of?"

Crystal Magi replied. "You were supposed to protect your people. You were supposed to be their light in the darkness. But you led them to the abyss, and you fed on them."

"You engorged yourself on the people you were supposed to protect. You should be ashamed of yourself."

The librarian still wasn't ashamed. It said, "I did all of these things and grew stronger. I grew stronger quickly. It was so fast that in a year, I grew twice as strong. That means that I have acquired as much power as I gained in 100 years of life in just one year of becoming a vampire. I can't be ashamed of that."

"What's more, there is no blockage to my progress in sight. At this rate, I will soon become a demigod. What is there to be ashamed of?"

Crystal Magi asked in shock, "What do you mean, what is there to be ashamed of?"

The pitch of his mental voice was loud. It sounded shrill because of his shock.

He said, "I look around, and all I see are death, suffering, and abominations. I look at you, and all I see is proud depravity. I feel ashamed for you, and yet you don't feel ashamed for yourself."

"I feel ashamed that we had to bring in outsiders to save us from the disease that has infested you and our planet. I feel ashamed to let them see you like this. Yet, you tell me that there is nothing to be ashamed of."

The higher vampire scoffed. "Bah. Don't take the high ground with me. You are a traitor, is all that you are. You betrayed your race when you brought outsiders here to destroy my work. So don't act high and mighty with me."

Crystal Magi was stunned when he heard that. He couldn't believe what he heard, so he had to recall what he just heard to make sure that he wasn't mistaken.

He had perfect memory, so it turned out that he wasn't mistaken. But he still couldn't believe what the higher vampire had said.

He looked around the city to confirm what he had seen all the way here. Then he turned back to the librarian and asked, "Did you just accuse me of betrayal after you killed the people you were supposed to protect? Did you call me a traitor after you ate your people and infected them with the disease of blood lust?"
