Demon Hunter and His Cabin
Chapter 421 - Chapter 421 Chapter 421 Black Tide (5)

Chapter 421: Chapter 421: Black Tide (5) Chapter 421: Chapter 421: Black Tide (5) Embedded in Yebeni’s chest was an oval black gemstone.

The gemstone was surrounded by a dense network of blood vessels, as if it had grown out of Yebeni’s body.

He let out a sinister laugh, while an eye, akin to the Abyss, slowly opened within the gemstone.

“Suffer, you puppets controlled by rituals.”

A beam of light shot out from the gemstone, and Roger was startled to find the Sword of the Sun in his hand sinking heavily, as if the weapon were being restrained.

Someone had actually taken measures against the restraints embedded in the minds of Heritage Knights!

Though it was just a moment of interference, it was enough time for Yebeni to release his spell.

“Mother always wanted to obtain a Heritage Knight’s Inheritance Core, and this time it’s just perfect!”

No sooner had his words fallen than the black gemstone on his chest cracked all over and then burst apart violently.

While the object could affect the Round Table Knights, it clearly had significant limitations. However, just when Yebeni thought the interference had left Roger at his mercy to be slaughtered,

“This really is an incredible secret.”

Roger gave a slight smile, and then to Yebeni’s astonishment, he released the weapon in his hand, his combat suit rustling. When Roger reached out again, his palm was sheathed in a black glove.

Subsequently, his right hand actually passed through the Golden Sword floating in mid-air, and a terrible oppressive force ensued, splitting the Golden Sword down the middle.

Yebeni saw a pitch-black Longsword pierce through his magical barrier and impale him through the chest!

“What happened?”

He struggled to widen his eyes, as blood poured profusely from his mouth and nose.

“Why can you still move?”

“What is this weapon?”

Roger, however, did not answer Yebeni’s questions. He grasped the Cursed Sword with both hands, resisting the Dark Energy emanating from the blade while channeling all his strength into it!

Even through the gloves materialized from his cloak, the Dark Energy from the blade continued to assail Roger’s mind.

Prepared for every eventuality, Yebeni could never have anticipated such a twist; had it been a head-on fight, he would not have been defeated so quickly.

The Cursed Sword churned in his hand, utterly crushing Yebeni’s heart, while at the same time, a terrible devouring force emanated from the blade.

Roger released the hilt and watched as Yebeni’s life force was devoured by the Cursed Sword, turning to but a wisp of dust that vanished into the air.

“What’s going on?”

“Why has the devouring power of this weapon increased so much?”

Even caught off-guard by Roger’s opportunistic strike, Yebeni was, after all, a Third Tier Transcendent.

At that moment, the Cursed Sword began shaking violently, as if it might shoot into the sky at any moment.

Roger, alarmed, tightened his grip on the Sword of the Sun, crashing the two weapons together. The Sword of the Sun immediately melted to coat the Cursed Sword.

But even so, the internal tremors almost caused Roger to lose his grip on the weapon. He had no choice but to activate the full power of the Sword of the Sun. Flames engulfed his body, just barely suppressing the restlessness.

Looking in the direction from which the tremors came, he saw the very place an explosion had occurred not long ago.

“What has happened?”

“Why did that Ancient Breed choose to flee here after facing a deadly threat?”

Moved by a thought, Roger tucked away the Hart Spirit’s Horn and dashed over as fast as he could.

Meanwhile, at the epicenter of the recent explosion, Tristan lay bloodied on the ground. He seemed to have no serious external injuries, but his spirit appeared significantly damaged.

Two figures were supporting each other as they walked out of the woods–it was the Gareth brothers.

“What happened?”

“Where are Roger and Yebeni?”

“Sizzle!”

Suddenly, a huge hand emerged from the center of the explosion, a place shrouded in darkness.

The palm was rough and dark brown in color–it wasn’t human, but belonged to a…

Deerhead Spirit!

Hiss!

The gap was fiercely torn open, and then a gigantic head with deer antlers appeared before the three of them!

It was a Deerhead Spirit that looked similar to the Ancient Breed they had just encountered, only this monster’s eyes were gleaming with intelligence, and although it was much smaller in size, the power emanating from its body was even greater!

“Thank you for opening the passage for me!”

“Her Majesty, the Queen of the Night, your loyal servant Kernon, is the most exceptional…”

“Queen of the Night… Kernon…”

Gaheris’s complexion changed dramatically.

“Get out of the way, you’re too slow!”

A voice like thunder followed, and the Deerhead Spirit who claimed to be Kernon was pushed aside by a large hand.

Amidst the faint sounds of a horse, a longsword enveloped in black smoke cut through the void, expanding the gap to half a person’s height.

Gaheris and his companion also saw the master of the black longsword, whose pale bone armor was wrapped in green flames, adorned with traces of dried blood on the neck, while their head was nowhere to be found.

“The Headless Knight…”

Gaheris felt a tightness in his throat, even a sudden urge to turn and run.

At that moment, Roger, who had finally reached the vicinity, also saw the partially visible figure in the void.

The Cursed Sword hidden within the Sword of the Sun quivered more frequently, sensing the presence of its other half!

“Rams, you’re a joke.”

The Deerhead Spirit named Kernon spoke out.

“You prepared for so many years, just to barely send that weapon out, tsk tsk, how pitiful, not only did your plan fail, but even your own weapon…”

“Shut your mouth, Kernon!”

The Headless Knight swung his black longsword, shattering the void.

As the space expanded, Roger could see more scenery. Far behind these two monsters, a black castle flickered in and out of existence.

A flash of spiritual light crossed Roger’s mind as he suddenly remembered the castle he had seen when he first obtained the Cursed Sword.

He had once thought it was an illusion, but now it seemed…

There was likely a big secret behind the Headless Knight’s Sword in the Stone suddenly appearing deep in the forest amongst the Deerhead Spirits.

Could this be the so-called Black Tide?

“We can’t let them come out!”

Gaheris shouted loudly, glancing at his brother, as the two of them each held a battle axe, their only remaining weapons.

“Attack!”

Gathering the last of their energy, they charged fearlessly into battle.

But unfortunately, they were already at the end of their strength, and in terms of absolute power, they were completely overwhelmed by the Headless Knight Rams, who reached out a hand and simply waved his weapon.

Shrouded in black smoke, the two were blown away by the powerful energy just as they drew close.

“Idiots, are Transcendents so weak nowadays?”

A dull laughter came from the cavity of Rams, but before he could withdraw his hand from outside the void, a figure suddenly leaped out at an angle!

“Your weapon looks pretty good.”

“How about you give it to me!”

Roger called out coldly.
