Demon Hunter and His Cabin -
Chapter 402 - Chapter 402 Chapter 402 Beauty and the Beast
Chapter 402: Chapter 402 Beauty and the Beast Chapter 402: Chapter 402 Beauty and the Beast An uncontrollable urge surged within him.
Henrik lowered his head as the veins in his hands bulged and swelled rapidly. Led by the moonlight, it seemed as if a wild beast, struggling madly, was awakening inside him.
“Ah…”
He couldn’t help but let out a pained groan, but to his surprise, the sound that emanated from his throat was nothing like a human voice.
It was more like that of a beast!
In just a few short breaths, Henrik had already torn through his clothes, his height exceeding 2.5 meters.
His body was covered in black hairs as sharp as steel needles, and with a casual wave of his hand, the hanging curtains were easily torn apart by his claws.
“Your Highness…”
Two voices echoed from behind him.
Henrik turned around, barely able to contain the violent killing intent within him. This feeling was strange; although he seemed to have control over his body, deep within, there seemed to be an unknown consciousness influencing his judgement.
“From now until the next full moon, you won’t be able to return to your human form.”
“Besides you, there are us.”
As soon as the words were spoken, the figures of the two maids became nearly transparent, their held utensils scattering on the ground. At the same time, the entire castle seemed to undergo a wondrous transformation.
The opulent furniture fell into disrepair, the floorboards split open, and the air gained a tinge of rot.
Immediately afterward, Henrik keenly heard the sound of a woman’s fright coming from deep within the castle.
“Your Highness, will it be as usual?”
“Are these women to be killed outright or imprisoned to entertain you for the remaining month?”
“What are you talking about? What women?”
Henrik asked, somewhat perplexed.
“Of course, the women you obtained from those greedy men in exchange for jewels, men who, with money in hand, could even sell their own daughters.”
“Where is this place?”
From Henrik’s throat came a beastly roar.
“This is, of course, your castle.”
The maids asked, somewhat puzzled.
“I obviously know this is my castle; what I need to confirm is which country? Which region?”
Henrik said, growing impatient.
It was then that he saw a black horse racing towards the entrance of the castle, blending with the night, only a bunch of snow white at its hooves, running through the snow like a whirlwind.
“Another one lured by greed into the castle.”
“Looks like you can have a taste of something fresh this time.”
The two women behind him chatted.
“Your Highness, what color do you guess this man’s daughter’s hair is?”
“Red, blonde, or black?”
Henrik, pushing the door open, strode outside, the two women still nagging incessantly behind him, “Your Highness, what about the women in the castle?”
“Lock them up, lock them all up!”
Henrik said without turning back.
Along the way, he saw all sorts of grotesque things.
Ghosts drifting through the castle, portraits on the walls whose eyes moved, teapots and utensils that walked on their own.
And of course, the ravishing women being dragged into the dungeons.
Henrik, naturally distinguishing between urgent matters, wasn’t about to waste his time on these women. He ripped off a large piece of curtain to wrap around himself and soon arrived at the hall closest to the castle entrance.
From the room came sounds of indulgence.
A man was enjoying the delicious food on the table, and Henrik, comparing his own appearance, hesitated about whether to approach and start a conversation.
Just then, the sound of a horse’s whinny came from outside the door, followed by a panicked voice.
“Help, someone save me!”
“What is this place?”
A figure stumbled in, and Henrik’s heart skipped a beat in fear of being seen in his current state. With a swift motion, he darted to the second floor at great speed, hiding in a dim corner.
“Where have they all gone?”
“It was just dusk when we entered the castle, how did I end up in this godforsaken place in the blink of an eye?”
Henrik’s heart leaped, and he listened intently.
“What’s going on?”
“Have the others we met inside the castle also been brought to this place?”
“Where are Roger and Goway?”
Just then, a strange noise suddenly came from a room at the end of the corridor on the second floor. Despite Henrik’s massive body, he was surprisingly agile. He remained hidden in the darkness, and with just a few bounds, he leaped to the doorway.
In the flickering candlelight, a silhouette stood at the window!
…
Feeling the beastly eyes in the darkness staring at him, Roger’s hair stood on end. Without any hesitation the next second, he lunged forward.
He lifted the sole of his right foot and kicked the table in front of him fiercely.
Crack!
Putting all his strength into the kick, the uneven force caused the table to flip and Roger sent it spinning into the air.
At the same moment, a dark shadow flashed past, followed by the sound of a violent collision.
The lurking shadow in the corridor’s darkness had pounced.
As he launched the kick, Roger stomped on the ground with his left foot. In the moment the table tumbled, he had already soared into the air.
Without even glancing at the outcome, he curled his body and smashed through the window behind him, leaping out of the house!!
In that instant, Roger almost recaptured the sensation he felt during his first Demon Hunting Mission.
The thrill of teetering on the edge of danger, dancing on the blade of death.
As his body shot through the window, Roger saw clearly the monster that had attacked him.
It was a huge creature over 2.5 meters tall, covered with thick fur, its sharp claws comparable to daggers.
Its figure was nearly human, but its head was enormous. With sharp canine teeth jutting out, its gaze was filled with a beast’s greed as it looked at Roger!
“Beauty and the Beast…”
Roger couldn’t help but curl his lip.
“What woman could ever love such a beast?”
The beast, having also seen Roger leap out the window, smashed the table in front of it and pounced again with all its might.
After jumping out of the window, Roger didn’t fall down as one might expect. Instead, he reached out his hands to grab the top of the window, then powered up with his waist and flipped himself upward.
By the time he aligned himself directionally, the frenzied beast had also crashed through the window and leaped out.
“Now!”
The gleam in Roger’s eyes flashed. He let out a low shout, and his entire body plummeted like a giant boulder.
The weapon in his hand suddenly accelerated, and for a brief moment, time seemed to slow down. Although Roger had lost most of his Hunter Vision, in this intensely focused state,
He could still see every twist of the beast’s limbs and the contraction of its muscles!
Almost instinctively, he delivered a deadly Pierce!
Shht!
The sharp blade cut through the skin and slipped into the gaps in the vertebrae at the back of the beast’s neck.
Steel grated against bone, and blood spattered.
Rip!
The palms of his hands split open, and then came the painful howl of the beast as the Steel Sword plunged into its body and suddenly broke. Roger was sent flying by a tremendous force, landing in a sea of flowers in a graceful arc!
Before he could get to his feet, the roses surrounding him surged forward, blossoming furiously. But with just one glance, Roger’s scalp tingled with unease.
In the center of the blooming roses were the bloodless, pale faces of the young!
A roar echoed from afar, and the fallen beast struggled to its feet, its eyes looking at Roger with hysterical madness!
