Demon Hunter and His Cabin -
Chapter 311 - Chapter 311 Chapter 311 Full Moon in the Sky
Chapter 311: Chapter 311: Full Moon in the Sky Chapter 311: Chapter 311: Full Moon in the Sky Goway briefly narrated to Grace the events of her mission with Roger. Upon hearing Goway’s retelling, Grace frequently cast surprised glances at Roger.
He had not expected that this youth, who appeared to have little fluctuation in his bloodlines, would possess such formidable strength.
So much so that his look at Roger later on was filled with thick doubt.
“So the so-called Headless Knight Rams was just a puppet, and the real danger was that weapon,”
Grace nodded in agreement.
“This matter is indeed very important, especially since the Headless Knight has not made an appearance for many years.”
“Times have changed; Eld has been peaceful for many years now. This incident might portend something. I will report it in detail to the captain.”
After discussing the matter at hand, a silence fell upon the clock shop.
The siblings exchanged a look, but they quickly glanced away from each other, looking elsewhere.
The moment became incredibly awkward, with only the tick-tock and the cuckoo of the clocks filling the air.
“Ahem.”
After a minute of silence, Roger could not help but give a light cough.
“Well, that’s that then,”
Grace looked at Goway, about to say something more but then hesitated.
“When you have time, visit home more. Don’t wander around outside too much; mother misses you a lot.”
Upon hearing this, Goway’s expression softened significantly.
“I just so happen to have some documents I need to check back at home,” Goway remembered the task she promised Roger.
Before leaving, Grace gave Roger a deep look.
Um… that gaze was very much like an elder’s.
Roger felt quite innocent; he wasn’t really interested in someone with Goway’s diminutive frame.
Um? Wait a minute.
Wasn’t Hathaway of similar stature at the beginning?
Could it be that nothing in the world can escape the law of true fragrance?
With this, the matter of the Headless Knight came to a temporary close.
Roger hadn’t been in Eld for too long, yet he felt a completely different vibe from life in Bordeaux.
Not just everyday life.
Compared to Bordeaux, Eld could be considered to have unsophisticated folk customs and a much slower pace of life, with its sparse population mainly concentrated in the urban areas and towns.
The rest was vast forests and valleys.
Many Transcendent Beings and Non-Human Races were hidden there.
In Eld, Roger, having no relatives or friends, naturally became reliant on Goway.
And Goway really did have extravagant resources, actually owning a small manor on the edge of the urban area.
The family inheritance was indeed profound.
Back at the villa, Goway consulted a lot of documents in the study, which was as tall as a two-story building, with shelves reaching to the ceiling aside from the walls.
Just as Roger was concerned about how Goway would sift through such an abundance of information, he saw a bright green light shining from her eyes. Following that, several palm-sized green creatures fell from the vines wrapped around the ceiling.
They had slender bodies and agile fingers and, under Goway’s command, they dived into the sea of books.
“Engelman and Eld’s intermarriages have been frequent; they are very familiar with each other’s histories due to the blending of their bloodlines. However, I don’t recall ever hearing about the Stuart Family in my memory,”
Roger looked at Goway somewhat strangely, “There are so many well-known families with surnames throughout the Engelman, can you really remember all of them?”
“You don’t believe me?”
Goway raised her head proudly, “Don’t underestimate the memory of a Secret Blood Witch. If it weren’t for the process of flipping through books being so tedious–”
Goway’s fingers lightly twirled, “I could even easily stuff all the books in here into my head.”
“Alright then.”
It seemed that every Transcendent Occupation had different directions in which to advance.
The manor wasn’t very large and was maintained regularly. It was clear that those who worked here were no ordinary people.
Roger was assigned a detached cabin near the edge. The house only had one floor, but Roger was quite satisfied with it.
He was even looking forward to starting his next mission impatiently.
By absorbing one or two more Cursed Items, the Hunter’s Cabin might be able to reach Level Six, unlocking new functions and very possibly increasing the maximum number of cabins.
If everything went smoothly, then some of Roger’s ideas could be attempted.
Three days later, Goway brought Roger some bad news. After a thorough search, she hadn’t found a family named Stuart within the Engelman.
She suspected that the family might have changed their name during the migration, and even the family crest was deliberately blurred.
Goway needed Roger to provide more clues so she could compare and identify the true identity of the Stuart Family before they changed their name and appearance.
Regarding Anna’s affair, there wasn’t too much that was unspeakable. After hiding and altering some key information, Roger pointed out a few key aspects to Goway.
As Goway began her new round of investigation, Roger also waited out the cooldown period of the Temporary Migration function and once again activated the migration ability. His resided cabin was assimilated.
Taking the Cursed Sword to the Mist Hut, Roger tried to kill a few monsters in the Mist, but unfortunately, these creatures had flesh and blood but conspicuously lacked the most important souls.
Even so, the Cursed Sword, having absorbed some of the essence of flesh, underwent a significant transformation.
A pale red thin line appeared along the edge of the blade, as if these threads were integrated into the sword.
During combat, Roger could vaguely feel a bit of vitality being fed back from it.
This sensation was unlike the energy-replenishing wooden bed, but more similar to the rotting life force he had absorbed in the Cursed Land of the Voodoo Association.
But undeniably, this was the most powerful weapon Roger had acquired so far. If its power was fully unleashed, Roger might temporarily possess combat power equivalent to that of a Full Moon level.
With the remaining time, Roger didn’t idle away. He squandered all the Potions he had on hand for training, and under frantic exercise, the third Ouroboros barely took shape.
Given a little more time, perhaps he could master the fourth Dharma Seal.
Axis.
Lately, Roger had been devoting all his energy to the Dharma Seal, naturally neglecting his swordsmanship a bit.
But that was unavoidable, after all, the second phase of the trials was primarily focused on Dharma Seals.
However, with successive battles, Roger also gained some insights. He always felt that he was not far from comprehending the Swordsmanship Secret Technique of Panda Swordsmanship.
He informed Henrik of his current address, and Henrik sent some high-level materials from the Dickinson Manor to Roger through secret channels.
This might still take some time.
After being busy for several days, Roger barely left his house. Just when he suddenly emerged from his busy schedule and stepped out of the cabin, he discovered that the sky was hung with a high full moon.
A Full Moon in the sky.
A thought crossed Roger’s mind–he remembered the Pale Blood and that wolf-head mask stored in the Storage Box–and, that today seemed to be the day of the Foreign Spirit Assembly.
