Demon Hunter and His Cabin -
Chapter 299 - Chapter 299 Chapter 299 The Correct Way to Use the Cabin
Chapter 299: Chapter 299: The Correct Way to Use the Cabin Chapter 299: Chapter 299: The Correct Way to Use the Cabin “The situation is urgent, should we set out right now?”
Roger suggested, knowing that Goway was well-acquainted with the middle-aged woman and possibly had dealings with people in the village. He did not want to waste time.
Goway considered it for a moment but still shook her head.
“We’ll set out first thing tomorrow morning.”
“The forest is too dangerous at night.”
“Alright.”
Roger didn’t insist further. After obtaining some information from the middle-aged woman, the two left the clock shop.
“Is the Sword in the Stone the Cursed Item?”
Roger asked.
Goway rubbed her head, “Maybe, if it were something ordinary, someone in the village should be able to deal with it.”
“The villagers aren’t human?”
Roger probed.
Goway nodded.
“It’s a small Dryad village, a kind of humanoid with greenish skin, slender build. Their body structure is essentially the same as humans.”
Goway glanced at Roger, “They can marry and even reproduce with humans.”
“Why are you telling me this?”
Roger was slightly startled.
“Isn’t this what you guys are most curious about?”
It seemed that Eld was not as peaceful and free as Goway described.
In fact, this was easy to understand. Even among humans, there were endless conflicts. It would likely be even more severe between different species.
Seemingly worried about the affairs in the village, Goway’s mood fluctuated greatly. The two didn’t stay overnight in Blair County but proceeded to a small town at the edge of the forest beneath the city.
When they arrived, it was nearly six o’clock. They found an inn and rented two rooms.
After a brief tidy up in his room and having dinner, Roger tried to activate the Temporary Migration function.
The room trembled, none of the furnishings changed, but Roger knew the migration was complete.
He lay unreservedly on the bed, feeling the constant restoration of his energy.
Having drifted at sea for a while, returning to the cabin now, he once again experienced the long-missed comfort of safety.
But at that moment, a prompt appeared in his consciousness.
[Dark Secret]: Cursed Item.
Everyone harbors secrets unknown to others. Pierce your fingertip with a pen’s nib, use your blood as ink, and record your dark secrets in a box.
Nourished by the shadows of the heart, absorbing blood and soul’s power, it nourishes evil spirits.
Collect, record, spread.
Do you have a secret?
Will you submit it?
“This item contains an unknown energy. Once submitted, the item’s strange energy will be absorbed and will be placed in its ordinary form within the Hunter’s Cabin.”
“Please note, this energy can be used to upgrade the level of the Hunter’s Cabin and bring unexpected benefits to its owner.”
Will you submit it?
The Hunter’s Cabin asked again.
Roger’s eyes brightened, and he sprang up from the bed.
“It has this function, too?”
He thought carefully and seemed to remember that the bulletin board had given him a related hint before.
Loot, personal strength enhancement, and room decoration.
Roger had personally experienced the first two; regarding the third, he had always thought that what the cabin referred to were items like Henrik’s pocket watch or peculiar photographs.
But now it seemed, what the cabin was hinting at before might have been Cursed Items like the black box!
Surrendering cursed items to the Hunter’s Cabin not only raised the corresponding level, but also brought about some wondrous changes.
With that thought, Roger submitted the black box in his hands without hesitation.
A moment of dizziness passed before his eyes, as if something from the box was being drawn out and merged into the Hunter’s Cabin.
The process was quite bland, yet Roger seemed to see an essence of pure devouring and plundering!
In his feeling, the Hunter’s Cabin had undergone significant changes compared to when he first arrived in this world.
It wasn’t just the functionality.
That feeling was like nurturing something within himself, and as it grew, it was slowly, slowly awakening.
He had a premonition that when the Hunter’s Cabin reached level 6, perhaps a major change would follow.
While he was pondering this, the changes to the black box were complete.
Opening the box in his hands again, the ordinary brass mirror, goose feather pen, and papyrus looked like a common handicraft, with the surface bumps no longer as pronounced and fierce.
“The stuff inside has been absorbed.”
But just then, Roger felt a coolness passing through his mind, and his eyes widened in amazement.
Behind the two interlinked Ouroboros, his spiritual power surged, with a new Ouroboros taking shape!
“This… This is!”
“It can actually be like this!?”
This part of the spiritual power was so pure, as if it was obtained through meditation, requiring only a simple adjustment to integrate with his previous spiritual power.
A flash of insight in his mind, and Roger seemed to understand something.
“Could it be that the strength of the Hunter’s Cabin is my own strength?”
“Be it the Green Grass Trial or the subsequent Dream and High Mountain Trials, those are for the regular Demon Hunters.”
“For me, the most fundamental strength is the Hunter’s Cabin!”
At first, the Hunter’s Cabin couldn’t bring Roger many enhancements, whether it was the Pain Potion, Green Grass Trial, or the corresponding cultivation methods.
Reaching this point today, everything was enhanced by the Hunter’s Cabin, but Roger himself had also paid a great price.
Although his strength had increased rapidly, it all stemmed from his own cultivation.
But after he completed the Green Grass Trial, everything seemed different.
Rising from level three to level five, while he unlocked several new areas and updated several potions, there was no qualitative leap in Roger’s own strength.
This gradually led Roger to start overlooking improvements to the Hunter’s Cabin.
But at this moment, he seemed to have realized something.
It wasn’t a lack of improvement; rather, he hadn’t found the correct method of usage.
While he was still struggling to find materials for his meditation practice, he didn’t realize that he just needed to find cursed items and submit them to the Hunter’s Cabin.
That would not only raise the Hunter’s Cabin’s level but also enhance his own spiritual power.
This was much faster than painfully cultivating on his own.
If it hadn’t been for gaining a windfall through Gwent Cards, Roger might still be troubled by the materials for the respective Potions.
“I must change my approach.”
“I am different from ordinary Demonic Hunters, I can follow their path, but my evolution should still gravitate toward the Hunter’s Cabin.”
To leap over the accumulation of quantity at the fastest speed, then at the moment of qualitative change, to attain enlightenment, to advance!
At this moment, Roger felt some regret; if he could have discovered the secret earlier, then by submitting cursed items, he would have raised the Hunter’s Cabin to its current level.
His own spiritual power would probably have been sufficient to complete five Ouroboros, truly master five Dharma Seals, and with them unlock the Dream Trials!
“Knowing now isn’t too late.”
Roger consoled himself.
Weighing the heart in his hand, he then placed it into the Storage Box.
Next, he would seek various cursed items to increase his spiritual power as much as possible!
“Let’s start with the Sword in the Stone.”
