Demon Hunter and His Cabin
Chapter 296 - Chapter 296 Chapter 296 Awakening

Chapter 296: Chapter 296 Awakening Chapter 296: Chapter 296 Awakening Bordeaux Royal Drama Academy.

Margaret, dressed in a long robe woven of golden threads, descended the oak staircase slowly.

Trailing her was Amanda and several other female sorceresses.

Reserve female sorceresses.

Each of them could be considered dressed for a grand occasion, wearing bustier gowns of various colors, with a complex Array traced on the chest.

The amber necklaces around their necks dangled naturally, the amber pendants touching the center of the Arrays.

Click, click.

The surroundings were dim, with only the sound of Margaret’s footsteps to be heard; everyone else was silent, closely following behind Margaret.

Down they went, layer by layer, as if the descent would never end.

After an indeterminate amount of time, Margaret finally halted, snapped her fingers lightly, and torches along the walls ignited, blossoming into golden flames.

Turning back, she saw that everyone following her was drenched in sweat, although Amanda’s face still appeared normal, with some of the others even struggling to stand on their own.

“The Silent Staircase.”

“Consider this first challenge passed,” Margaret said.

She looked toward the last female student in line.

“It’s not too late to back out now. A magician’s Awakening ends in only two ways, transformation or death.”

“Think it over carefully.”

Amanda said nothing, simply took a step forward, her action speaking for her resolve.

Behind her was a voluptuous woman who had once flirted with Roger when he first brought Amanda to the Academy.

“Very good!”

Margaret’s approving gaze rested on Amanda’s face.

“Your progress is evident to all, do not disappoint me.”

“Nor shame your bloodline.”

“Always maintain your pride!” Margaret admonished.

Flames blazed in the palm of her hand as Margaret stepped forward, placing her right hand on the stone door before her.

Boom!

The fire enveloped the door, which slowly melted away to reveal a fearsome beast’s head, like that of molten lava, on its surface.

Creak!

The stone door swung open, revealing a dark passageway.

“Pass through here to reach the final testing ground.”

“What is this place?” someone asked aloud.

“The Fiery Path,” Margaret turned and said, “The previous staircase tested your spiritual strength, but this next challenge will fully activate the blood within you.”

“Succeed and you shall condense your primal Corrupt Blood. Fail, and your Essence Blood will be drained, your ashes scattered here.”

“Our initial location for the Awakening Ceremony was set in New Moon City, which is safer, but unforeseen circumstances have disrupted our plans.”

“After this period of cultivation, your blood has already become vigorous. If we do not proceed with the Awakening soon, your bloodlines will backfire and destroy your frail bodies.”

“But such danger also represents opportunity,” Margaret waved her hand, and flames spread from her feet toward the end of the path.

Without any hesitation, Amanda was the first to step forward.

Whoosh!

The accumulated ash rose into the air with her steps, as the flames encompassed Amanda’s body.

In an instant, her clothes burnt away to nothing.

Amanda frowned slightly and took a second step.

Step by step.

The flames grew higher and eventually wrapped around Amanda completely, obscuring her figure from those following.

But the intense heat was palpable, altering the expressions of everyone present.

Over time, the floating ash collided with the flames, eerily forming twisted human shapes around Amanda, pulling and hindering her.

These were the silhouettes of trialists who had perished on the Fiery Path.

“I want to drop out!”

Someone let out a loud shout, turned, and ran into the distance. Margaret said nothing, only watching the flames burning on Amanda’s body, a trace of admiration in her eyes.

The sound of footsteps gradually faded away. But soon, a scream echoed from the darkness, followed by complete silence from the fleeing female sorceress.

Everyone’s expressions shifted subtly, as they could already imagine the woman’s fate.

“Inola, what is your choice?”

Margaret looked toward the woman standing behind Amanda.

The woman named Inola lifted her head and then, before everyone, stripped off her robe.

She brazenly revealed the curves of her body.

“This is my favorite piece of clothing. I wouldn’t want to see it burnt to ashes.”

After she spoke, Inola stepped barefoot onto the Fiery Path.

With her first step, Inola couldn’t help but let out a soft grunt.

Her complexion changed subtly.

“How could Amanda have…”

“The purer the bloodline, the stronger the spiritual power, the greater the ordeal one endures here.”

Margaret explained briefly.

“Amanda has to endure much more than you.”

Looking at the figure walking ahead.

“Even without awakening, her bloodline has begun to affect her personality, showing a unique temperament.”

“I like her pride.”

After walking ten meters, Inola couldn’t help but scream, but Amanda, in front, maintained her previous pace.

Slow but resolute.

The girl from the small town was fading away, replaced by a proud and powerful female sorceress!

There is an end to the path, and once the flames disappear, a wounded Amanda appears in a warm room.

“What’s the third barrier?”

Amanda asked hoarsely.

“Poor child…”

An old woman with a withered appearance, carrying a wooden bowl, walked up to Amanda.

“There is no such thing as a third barrier.”

“Drink this, and your Awakening Ceremony is complete.”

The cool liquid poured into her mouth, and the next moment, Amanda’s presence surged fiercely.

Flames burst out from every pore in her skin, and the burns on her body healed at a visibly fast rate.

Her skin became fair again, and her fiery red hair danced without wind. When the flames on her body burnt to their peak, they suddenly contracted inwards.

Hiss!

All the flames rushed into Amanda’s body, then gathered at the Array drawn on her chest.

Bang!

The amber on her chest shattered, and the Array glowed brightly.

Amanda let out a low shout, and the lines of the Array moved on their own, forming a cluster of burning flames on her chest!

“Powerful bloodline!”

The old woman stared with her cloudy eyes.

After awakening, Amanda had directly bypassed the stage of Corrupt Sorcerer.

“Congratulations, new-born Magician.”

“You have taken the first step in seeking the ancient bloodline!”

The old woman handed Amanda a robe with a red base and gold trim.

But in that moment, the flame burning on Amanda’s chest shrank into a ball, and a cry echoed through the room.

Hearing this sound, Inola, who had just entered the room, was struck mentally, fell to the floor with a thump.

“This sound…”

Margaret passed by Inola, excitedly approaching Amanda, sensing the aura on her.

“How does it feel?”

“Very good.”

Amanda hesitated.

“Now, I only want to see one person!”
