Demon Hunter and His Cabin
Chapter 295 - Chapter 295 Chapter 295 Cursed Item

Chapter 295: Chapter 295: Cursed Item Chapter 295: Chapter 295: Cursed Item Roger sensed an unusual mental fluctuation from the eyes of the woman before him.

This was a Transcendent, and her strength seemed considerable.

So the first thing he considered was that the man must have offended someone he should not have.

“Contract, they?”

Roger was somewhat puzzled.

“Are there other Transcendent Beings on this ship?”

The woman shook her head.

“Just a Cursed Item, which can only affect ordinary people.”

“Cursed Item… Is it something that has drifted from the Cursed Land?”

“Somewhat similar, yet completely different.”

“My name is Goway, a Secret Blood Witch.”

The woman held her head high, introducing herself.

“Roger, a Demon Hunter.”

“Hmm.”

Goway nodded indifferently.

“There’s a guy on the ship who got hold of a Cursed Item. He deceived others and signed a contract with this thing using their blood.”

“He wanted to use this thing to control others, and those who wouldn’t behave naturally had to be dealt with.”

Goway explained a few sentences.

“You seem quite familiar with these kinds of matters.”

Roger sensed something in Goway’s demeanor.

“This is quite common on Green Island.” Goway glanced at Roger, “Consider it a local feature of the island. Where are you from?”

“Armenia.”

“No wonder, that authoritarian place.”

Goway gathered the hair tousled by the sea breeze.

“In this world, only the air on Green Island is free; you really should go there to see it.”

Green Island is a nickname; its official name is Eld. It is a large island located northwest of Engelman. Although it’s an island, it is actually larger than Engelman itself.

There, lush forests and valleys abound, and from high above, it looks like a dazzling emerald, hence the name Green Island.

“Can you tell me about this so-called Cursed Item?”

Roger asked.

Just then, the sound of footsteps approached from not far away. Mira ran towards them quickly, “Roger, Jansen has requested everyone to gather in the conference room. Someone has died on the ship, and we must get to the bottom of it.”

Having experienced the incident on the island, Mira obviously remained much calmer than an ordinary girl.

Roger noticed the unusual flicker in Goway’s eyes. He instantly understood something. Clearly, this guy named Jansen must be implicated in the matter.

“You guys go ahead; such matters are too boring for me.”

Goway lifted her head, leaving Roger and the other with a proud silhouette.

For some reason, Roger found the scene somewhat amusing. It felt strange, as if Goway was trying to hide something.

Pride, indifference?

Roger shook his head.

As the sound of footsteps faded behind her, the arrogance on Goway’s face disintegrated, and she let out a long sigh.

“Nice performance, keep up the good work!”

By the time Roger returned to the conference room, Jansen was recording and questioning everyone’s whereabouts and activities with Famke’s assistance.

Approaching Roger, although Famke’s face was calm, her eyes seemed to want to pierce Roger over and over.

“The doctor on board preliminarily estimated the time of death to be within two hours. Where were you during this time?”

Famke stared at Roger with malice.

“He was in my room.”

“I can vouch for him.”

Mira answered directly.

“Did you two not leave the room for the whole two hours?”

Famke glared.

“What were you doing in there?” But the words were choked back by Famke.

A man and a woman alone together in a room.

He no longer wanted to know what had happened inside.

Roger stood to the side, carefully observing Jansen not far away. His body showed no subtle energy fluctuations, and he did not seem like a Transcendent.

This made Roger even more curious about the Cursed Item that Goway had mentioned.

He really wanted to have a proper talk with Goway, but glancing at Mira standing beside him, Roger felt he should probably put that thought on hold for the time being.

Only Henrik could be shameless enough to pull up his pants and go after another woman.

Was the Cursed Item something that emerged from the Cursed Land, or was it something altered by the rules of the world?

This made Roger suddenly think of the small boat he had boarded earlier, something other than an Evil Spirit clearly resided within the hull.

“The Heart of the Cursed Ship’s Bow, could that ship also be a Cursed Item?”

After everyone had been questioned, most people left the conference room, leaving only Jansen, Famke, and a few others behind.

Soon after, the rest of the people in the room left the conference hall with gloomy faces.

“You devil!”

Famke looked at Jansen sitting in the chair, wanting to rush forward and kill the man before him, but the horror of what he had seen in the room made Famke afraid of the unknown.

“There’s no such thing as a treasure, is there?”

“Your secrets are the treasure.”

Jansen tapped on the table lightly, “Now that we’re down to just a few of us, if one day the box holds enough secrets, those people working together would be able to do something that will shock the world!”

“Isn’t that value worth more than any treasure?”

“Upon reaching our destination, I hope everyone on the ship will sign a contract. As for that idiot who died, just throw him into the sea to feed the sharks.”

Jansen sneered.

“A person, if everyone believes he does not exist, then he does not exist.”

Jansen leaned forward, “I know you like that Mira, and you hate the man beside her.”

“Recruit the others for me, and I’ll get rid of him for you, even make that woman fall hopelessly in love with you.”

Jansen’s eyes shimmered with a tempting light.

“How about it?”

“Good!”

“I promise you!”

Famke’s eyes flickered with hatred.

“By tomorrow morning, that man will be gone.”

Watching Famke leave, Jansen’s face revealed a satisfied smile; he returned to his room and took out the black box.

But as soon as he lifted the lid of the box, he felt a powerful hand grasp his neck.

A strange voice came close to his ear.

“You want to kill me?”

Jansen’s hair stood on end as he recognized the voice.

“Buddy, let me explain…”

“Crack!”

“I don’t want to listen.”

Roger unhesitatingly twisted Jansen’s neck.

The time to listen to nonsense would be better spent examining the box before him closely.

“How should this thing be used?”

Roger picked up the box but looked towards the door.

The door opened with a click, and Goway’s figure appeared at the door; she glanced at Jansen, whose neck was twisted in a strange angle.

“Did you kill him?”

The same question, a different place.

But this time, Roger nodded.

“They talked too loudly; it was hard not to hear.”

Roger shook his head helplessly.

“It was as if someone was using a megaphone in the next room to discuss how to kill you.”

“If I hadn’t act, I couldn’t forgive myself.”

Roger weighed the black box in his hand.

“Now, can you give me a proper explanation of what a Cursed Item is?”
