Demon Hunter and His Cabin -
Chapter 250 - Chapter 250 Chapter 250 Staying Overnight
Chapter 250: Chapter 250 Staying Overnight… Chapter 250: Chapter 250 Staying Overnight… Ingmar seemed to have guessed Roger’s thoughts; she nodded.
“You’re right, do you remember the Misty World we visited?”
“The first assimilation in that world failed, and now it seems that even without our interference, the probability of a second successful attempt isn’t high.”
“After all, New Moon City’s existence has already drawn too much of the power of rules from the real world, which is a mutual process.”
“Generally speaking, it’s rare for more than two medium-sized Cursed Lands to emerge in the same region.”
“In New Moon City, people like us are referred to as outsiders by the locals, who possess a strange ability to distinguish between us and them with apparent ease.”
“This is really bizarre; for many years, the Hunters Guild has been unable to figure out the reason behind this.”
“Eventually, everyone simply started to dress distinctly different from the locals to set ourselves apart completely.”
“You’ll understand once you get there.”
Ingmar furrowed her brow, “But there’s one thing I still can’t figure out, the power hidden within the Hunters Guild in New Moon City is much greater than we imagined.”
“Yet for many years, they have quietly allowed the Voodoo Association to grow, and if the Hunters Guild hadn’t exposed itself, many people would harbor the same thoughts as I.”
“This is just too odd.”
She shook her head, “Perhaps the president of the Hunters Guild simply doesn’t care.”
“Looking at it now, the Voodoo Association is indeed foolish. They fancy themselves as calling the shots in the Bordeaux area, but in reality, they are just pawns in someone else’s game, manipulated at will.”
“After developing for so many years and solving numerous problems big and small for the Hunters Guild, to be kicked aside once their usefulness ends…”
A trace of wistfulness crossed Ingmar’s face as she glanced at Roger.
“If you are going there to carry out a Transcendent-level mission, you must be extremely careful; the Transcendents in New Moon City are much stronger than those here.”
“Many Demon Hunters lost their lives due to initial negligence.”
Having emptied her glass, Ingmar’s face showed a hint of weary drunkenness, indicating that her injuries this time were indeed very serious.
“You will understand the rest once you’re in New Moon City.”
“Alright.”
Roger nodded, and after thinking it over, he still decided to tell Henrik about the Night Demon woman.
That woman had become Henrik’s nightmare, and without killing her personally, Henrik probably would never be able to break free.
Roger also knew that confronting that Night Demon woman again was a very dangerous matter for Henrik.
But after much thought, he decided to tell him anyway.
He was willing to share such risks with Henrik and didn’t want to keep his friend living in perpetual pain because of his secrecy.
Moreover, even if Roger remained silent, Henrik would continue to investigate, and the dangers he faced would become even more unpredictable.
If he didn’t kill that woman, Henrik might never be able to enter the Transcendent Realm.
“No wonder I couldn’t find any news of her.”
Henrik looked at Roger with gratitude.
Roger knew that Henrik’s gratitude wasn’t for the news, but for his honesty towards Henrik.
This was a man who liked to make his own decisions; he didn’t want others to make choices for him, even if those intentions were good.
“I want to apply to enter New Moon City.”
Henrik took a deep breath and made his resolution.
“I’ll help you,” Roger said without hesitation.
“Don’t be so quick to refuse.”
Roger looked at Henrik.
“When I attracted trouble from the Voodoo Association, you were ready to step in without hesitation; now it’s your turn, and I can do the same.”
“Alright!”
Henrik nodded firmly.
This matter was too important to him.
“Although I’d like to help…” Ingmar sighed from the side.
“But in my current state, I’m afraid I may only drag you down.”
Henrik laughed heartily.
“The only thing you should do is recover well, try not to leave scars on your body, and then wait for me to return.”
“Hehe.”
Ingmar sneered coldly.
“I’ll be waiting for you!”
The provocation in his words was unmistakable.
Henrik, who had just been full of pride, understood the meaning in Ingmar’s eyes and immediately deflated.
There’s a fine line between ‘willing to’ and ‘have to,’ though they are but one word apart, the implication between them is vastly different.
Roger’s gaze swept over the two men.
These two guys…
After a brief conversation, the three of them parted ways; Henrik needed to submit his application, and Roger hoped to find a suitable task for himself through Dickinson.
After leaving the bar, he unexpectedly received a call from Amanda.
The redhead had finished her intensive studies; Lady Margaret had given her a day off, and as it happened, Roger had just moved to a new house, so Amanda met with him.
Her progress was astonishing; the flame that could once only light a cigarette had now spread to half of her arm.
Moreover, when concentrating, the flame in her hand could spread to her weapon, causing terrifying damage.
According to Amanda, if she underwent Bloodline Awakening, her abilities should take a qualitative leap.
The strength classification of Magicians is different from that of Witches; in the world of Magicians, strength is usually measured by the purity of one’s bloodline.
Although this classification may not be absolutely precise, it can roughly reflect the stage a Magician is at.
Magicians entering the Transcendent Realm need to complete Bloodline Awakening. After awakening, the special bloodline within them is often very thin.
It is still primarily human blood.
Magicians at this stage are known as Corrupt Sorcerers.
After that, they need to continually purify their bloodline; sometimes, integration and stimulation are needed.
They transform the Degenerate Blood within them, moving into the next stage.
Then comes the Pure Blood.
By this point, a Magician’s strength is comparable to that of a Full Moon Witch; of course, in terms of combat power, a Magician of the same level is much stronger than a Witch.
Having been confined to one place for study for a long time, the redhead was very happy to see Roger, and she dragged him around the streets of Bordeaux all evening.
It wasn’t until near midnight that she returned to Roger’s new home.
After arranging everything in the room for Amanda, Roger, as usual, said goodnight and went back to his own room.
The next step was to enter New Moon City; he needed to find a suitable task.
“Bang! Bang! Bang!”
Suddenly, there came a knocking at the door.
Roger’s heart skipped a beat in panic.
Why would Amanda come at this late hour?
It wasn’t quite proper, with just the two of them alone.
Though he thought so, his body honestly opened the door at the fastest speed possible.
“Uh…”
Amanda’s face was red, her right hand frozen mid-knock.
“What’s the matter?”
Roger felt his heart begin to race as well.
“It’s… it’s nothing.”
Amanda mustered her courage.
“My teacher said I’m at a critical period and should try to keep my emotions balanced to be in the best state for awakening.”
“So…?”
Roger calmed his surging blood.
“So I really can’t be disturbed right now, you shouldn’t come over later, I’ll lock the door.”
Having said this, Amanda ran off in a flurry, leaving Roger alone, standing confused at the door.
He lowered his head and sighed deeply.
“Girl, teasing me like this is going to cause big problems.”
