Death… And Me -
Chapter 3574: Forcing Their Way
Chapter 3574: Forcing Their Way
"Eh?" Elsie was the one to say that they could leave, but she at least thought they would try to lend a hand. "S-So... you really going..."
Roan narrowed his eyes. "What? Be direct!"
"Fine... try to think with me of a way to help my master... please?" Elsie relented.
"Then just fucking say so, damnit!" Roan really wasn’t made for these kinds of things.
In fact, Roan had no intention of leaving. He felt that they had more to gain if they managed to bring that Zuhure Spirit from down below. Roan was just annoyed with that pretense of selflessness.
"Celis, do you think you can test it out?" Roan turned to the Cedar.
Celis stepped forward, nodding. "Let’s give it a try."
Immediately, his laws of Wood and Wood Element gathered. He was in his humanoid form, so he only changed his arm, making a vine extend out of it. Even in that state, Celis wouldn’t have a problem creating a vine that extended for hundreds of kilometers, just like his roots. Let’s not forget, back in the Lisan Universe, Celis’s roots extended over an entire planet of the Mortal World!
Celis’s vine easily surpassed their Divine Sense range of twelve kilometers, going further down.
Twelve, fifteen, twenty, thirty, fifty... Only by the 67th kilometer did Celis finally notice something. "Seems like I got there. Sixty-seven kilometers more or less. That’s where the barrier is located. I’m going to enter it now."
As Elsie’s master mentioned, the barrier allowed anyone to enter. It just didn’t let anyone leave. So, Celis’s vine passed through the barrier without issues. However, Celis narrowed his eyes at that moment. "I can feel the Major Law the guy spoke about. The part of my vine that entered that place is now gone, dead."
"Are you fine?" Rean asked him back.
Celis nodded. "I countered that Major Law with my own. There is no damage here."
"What kind of law is it?" Roan also looked down below.
"I trapped a little bit of it at the end of my vine, where it was cut," Celis answered and brought it back up. Finally, the twins’ group could check it themselves.
"As always, when it is not a law related to our own, it is hard to work with..." Rean sighed. He couldn’t identify that law.
"The guy down there said it was a poisonous gas, right? Could there be a Major Law of Poison?" Kentucky tried to understand as well.
Roan nodded at him. "There are laws of everything in this Universe. That much is certain. Still, I don’t feel like this is the Major Law of Poison." Roan looked down again. "Hey, you have been down there all this while. Were you able to identify what kind of Major Law it is?"
Elsie’s Master quickly answered. "I wish I had. But I’m not that knowledgeable about other laws. Pretty much no one is, as we all focus more on our own."
Roan couldn’t refute him as he was the same. In fact, he doesn’t remember having seen anyone truly knowledgeable in many different laws. After all, you wouldn’t comprehend more than one, with two Major Laws already being extremely rare. Why would you then waste your time with other laws if you can’t comprehend them in the end? Better spend that time cultivating or becoming stronger with what you have.
They had felt quite a few different laws in the past, especially during the war against Garisan. As one can imagine, mainstream laws like the elemental ones were the most used, like fire, water, wind, etc. Very few truly went into other paths, Celis’s Absorption being a very good example.
Even the twins and Kentucky’s laws entered this mainstream group. Sure, Dark and Light Laws were rare in the Realm of Gods. However, Devils and Angels used the laws of Dark and Light from the start. Those two laws could definitely be considered mainstream when you think about the absolute number of users in the Universe as a whole, not only the Realm of Gods.
"Hum?" Rifindio’s attention was piqued. "I think I know this one..."
"You know?" Everyone found it ridiculous. Rifindio is only in the Elemental Space Realm Peak Stage. he hasn’t gotten into contact with Laws yet. How could he know what kind of laws these are? He shouldn’t even be able to feel them.
"Well, not quite," Rifindio corrected himself. "It’s just that this thing on Celis’s vine gives me the same sensation as a Rofel Frog."
Seeing everyone still puzzled, Rifindio continued his explanation. However, he used his Divine Sense and only told it to the twins’ group, leaving Elsie and her master out. That’s because it was information related to his past.
’You remember when I said that the Supreme Palace also had many different races that lived there under the command of the Camazotz Bats, right?’ Rifindio asked, and the twins’ group nodded, allowing him to continue. ’Well, that’s basically it. One of such races was the Rofel Frog Race, a poisonous type of Demon Beast.’
’Even if I was at the very bottom of the food chain back then, I was still above the other races just because I was a Camazotz Bat. So, there was a time I had to do a mission and needed a Rofel Frog’s help, so I just went there and got one.’
’Their power is exactly as Elsie’s Master described, a poisonous gas that comes from their back glands. It’s extremely corruptive and pretty much impossible to block. On the other hand, these Frogs, even though they are Divine Demon Beasts, are very weak if you disregard their poison. You could say that they are best suited for enclosed environments, where their enemies wouldn’t be able to stay away from their poisonous gas.’
’As for their Laws... What I heard, and I believe it is true, is that they comprehend the Major Law of Structural Life Corruption.’
That was a law the twins never heard about, but it wasn’t hard to guess what it was focused on. ’Basically, it is a law that breaks the bonds of everything alive, regardless of race.’
It was different from Roan’s Dark Element Corruption, which simply corrupted. He didn’t break bounds; he just destroyed everything, life involved or not.
"Hey, why all the silence? Have you figured something out?" Elsie couldn’t take that anymore and asked directly.
Rean turned to her. "Yes, we are sure that this is the Major Law of Structural Life Corruption. It basically only works on living beings, but it is capable of passing through dead things to reach its targets as well. That’s why it is almost impossible to block. Your race’s Rock Shell Manifestation is quite good for managing to do just that."
Elsie’s eyes lit up! "So you know what law it is?! Can you help?"
Roan pondered a bit. If it came down to a battle between types of corruption, he was confident he could win. There was also Rean’s Purification Skill, which should be just as powerful at preventing one from being corrupted by the Frogs’ Law in the gas down below. "Possibly. But first, we need to open that barrier."
*Rumble!*
Suddenly, the area trembled like an earthquake, but it only lasted a few seconds. No one there was an idiot, guessing why. "Seems like our friends are forcing their way through the collapsed passage."
