Death… And Me -
Chapter 3562: You Know the Reason
Chapter 3562: You Know the Reason
*Suuuuuuu...*
Sure enough, after the explosion, the lake once again began to suck everything in inside the same range. From what they could see, the clean area, where the lake took everything inside, was around 30 kilometers from the lake’s shore.
Even at the Transition Realm, only thirty kilometers should be easy to traverse in normal conditions. But with gravity causing trouble for everyone, especially those in the Space-Time Realm who couldn’t use laws as well as the Divinity Realm ones, it was a lot harder.
That’s why another hundred or so were caught in the explosion earlier. Well, to be fair, the explosion went beyond just thirty kilometers, but the sucking power of the lake only worked inside that range. So, if anyone died outside that range, the lake wouldn’t pull them back.
It mattered little to those running anyway. As soon as the survivors managed to get a hold of themselves, they used everything they had to run even faster. Single-time life-saving treasures were brought out, and no one cared about the costs.
The twins’ group was the furthest ones, so much so that the shockwave that caught most of the survivors didn’t affect them as much, and they continued to run away. This time, after seeing a good part of those affected with their Divine Senses, they moved even faster. Rean caught Elsie, while Kentucky grabbed Rifindio. Those two, especially Elsie, weren’t as fast as the rest of them. The Celestial Bloodline, which made their bodies stronger than when they used the Starlight Body Cultivation Technique, was now in full display against the gravity of this palace.
*Zush!*
Perhaps it was because the explosion was bigger just earlier, and the dead experts pulled back into the lake took longer to get there. Or maybe the lake took longer to transform all those bodies into energy for its explosion. In any case, the next explosion didn’t happen for another ten seconds. Nonetheless, everyone understood that it was their chance.
Suddenly, the area went silent for a split second. Even if it took longer, the explosion would come; they were certain of it, and this time, many Divinity Realm Experts fueled it. Sure enough...
The light that preceded the explosion was eye-burning bright! Everyone who had normal eyes had to cover them with their Divine Energy just to protect them, including the twins’ group. It was, in fact, even brighter than the explosion that first lured everyone towards the lake and the waterfalls.
*BOOOOOOMMMM!!!*
What followed was nothing short of an apocalypse in the eyes of those watching it from close or afar. Just the initial area of the blast, where the pure power concentrated, spread for over fifty kilometers. As for the power shockwave that followed, its temperature alone wasn’t something even those with body cultivation techniques or demon beasts could resist if they were as close as a hundred kilometers from it. No life-saving treasure would help them save their lives.
*Woah!*
The twins’ group, which made very good use of that time to go much further than a hundred kilometers, was immediately swept by the same shockwave, sent flying like cannonballs. It was fine, though. The power behind it was terrifying, but their bodies could take it.
Others weren’t that lucky, and from the initial 250 experts or so who came to the lake earlier, now only around 60 were still alive. The rest all died in the three explosions. One smaller explosion of a single Space-Time Realm Expert. A second, bigger one from the fuel provided by a dozen or so experts, some in the Divinity Realm. Then a third one, this time with many Space-Time and Divinity Realm experts as fuel, around a hundred of the two.
There were also the experts who finally noticed the energy beasts were fake, and returned, but those ones already turned back to flee again when they saw the second explosion. Why would they enter that area? The third explosion made them feel relieved they were scared away by those fake beasts. They could tell quite a few probably died there.
A fourth explosion did not follow, but everyone kept running anyway, be it because they were injured, or because there were no guarantees there wouldn’t be another. Still, those who paid attention before knew that the sucking range of the late was around 30 kilometers from the shore. Seeing that another explosion didn’t follow, that’s because those who died in the last explosion had died outside of that range. The lake had no more fuel to pull inside.
The twins’ group turned around, Rean and Kentucky letting go of Rifindio and Elsie. "Now, that was scary..."
"You guys!" Suddenly, a group of experts with White Lights on their chests approached the twins’ group. They recognized the newcomers. They were there as well when the first explosion went out.
"Hum?" Rean turned in their direction. That group was a lot smaller this time. Back when the first explosion went out, Rean’s Divine Sense saw three Space-Time Realm and seven Divinity Realm experts in this group. Now, however, only five remained, all in the Divinity Realm. The Space-Time Realm ones were not able to escape, and even two slower Divinity ones were caught in it. "Hey, if it isn’t the friends from Universe F954. How can we help you?"
The leader of their group gritted his teeth. They were quite injured, especially those at lower stages of the Divinity Realm. They might all have cultivation suppressed to the Transition Realm, but the laws they can use at the Divinity Realm made a lot of difference, so the stages of the same realm also did. "How the hell did you know that explosion was going to happen? Tell me now!"
Roan narrowed his eyes. "Is that how you make a question to those who warned you? You are probably alive because of what my idiot brother said after the first explosion."
The guy heard and calmed down. Yes, had Rean not warned everyone after the first explosion, they wouldn’t be alive. It wasn’t like every single Divinity Realm expert in this place was unreasonable. "Fine, I’m thankful for that. But don’t think I will let you guys go before you explain. Also, you could have warned us straight away instead of waiting for the first explosion to happen."
"Actually, we couldn’t," Rean spoke from there. "And you know the reason."
