Death… And Me
Chapter 3561: Child’s Play

Chapter 3561: Child’s Play

*Arrrghhh!!!*

Everyone’s attention turned to the scream, and they saw a Space-Time Realm expert being consumed by the lake. His body immediately turned pitch black, just like the water inside. In a matter of seconds, his life was gone, and his body began to break into several parts as they floated over the water.

Everyone understood what happened, and they turned to the other body parts they had seen earlier. Sure enough, they looked just like the guy who fell into the water a moment ago. Some quickly took several steps back, afraid of something or someone forcing them to fall into the lake.

How did the guy fall inside? The answer was quite simple: the leader of his group pushed him inside! Many of those here were able to come because they bought their slots from someone who had a portrait. That said, it wasn’t like they were really members of the same power or anything. The poor guy who was used to test the water just happened to be one of such.

Suddenly, Celis’s voice echoed in the twins’ group’s minds. ’Quick, step back!’

No one would ignore Celis’s orders, and they immediately ran away from the lake. Of course, everyone near the twins’ group noticed that, but they just snorted. In their minds, the twins retreated because they were afraid of someone throwing them into the lake as well. They had very low cultivations, after all. Little did they know there was another reason for that.

"Hey, what’s that?" A few seconds later, which was enough for the twins’ group to cover several kilometers, someone pointed out.

Everyone looked near the area where the Space-Time Realm expert died, and they saw a small ball of yellow light coming out of the lake. The first thought in their minds was that some treasure of the lake probably appeared after that guy died.

But then, it dawned on them. The guy who died didn’t die because of an explosion. He was simply killed by the lake. Since that was the case, what caused the explosion that brought everyone here? Were the owners of the body parts they saw floating in the lake really killed because of the explosion from before?

"Shit!"

Immediately, many of those groups turned around, running away... too bad some of them noticed it too late.

*Zil... BOOM!*

Another enormous explosion followed, destroying everything within a few kilometers of that yellow light ball. It wasn’t as powerful as the previous one, but it was still quite strong. The closest experts were swept by the blast, and those too slow or with weak defenses couldn’t resist it.

A weird thing followed after that. Back when everyone arrived in this place, the area was completely clean, with no dust or smoke. Now, another explosion took place, and they saw why there was nothing around the lake’s surroundings.

The lake seemed to come to life, and a strong pulling force began to suck in all the smoke and dust and everything else within the explosion area. That also included the bodies of those who were caught by the explosion and died... or what remained of them. There was a limit to the lake’s absorption range, though. The smoke, dust, and everything else that surpassed that range were not affected, continuing to spread far and wide. That explained why there was a completely clean area at the center of the explosion, while there was a lot of smoke and dust further away from it.

"What the hell was that?!" Someone asked, still feeling the dread of the explosion. It was too powerful. It wasn’t something they could achieve with their cultivations suppressed to the Transition Realm.

Everyone else also stopped, looking back at the lake, feeling even more afraid of it. All they knew was that the death of that Space-Time Realm expert triggered that explosion somehow. Surprisingly, the lake seemed completely fine, let alone the waterfall on the opposite side. There were no signs of the destruction an explosion should have caused to its surroundings.

Yet, someone noticed something. The twins’ group hadn’t stopped running. In fact, they were the very first ones to run, and outpaced everyone else. They were definitely the group furthest away at the moment, but they continued to run as if their lives depended on it.

By now, any idiot could tell that the twins’ group noticed that the explosion was going to happen, and they noticed it even before the ball of yellow light appeared.

Rean looked back, and his expression was one of someone looking at a bunch of dead bodies. He then smiled, deciding to do a favor to those experts, using his Divine Energy to amplify his voice.

"A single Space-Time Realm expert was enough to cause that big of an explosion. Now then, that explosion caught ten or so guys who weren’t able to flee in time, some of them in the Divinity Realm. After that, the lake pulled everything back inside itself. Tell me, just what kind of explosion will follow now that the lake dragged all their bodies inside?"

Everyone’s faces went pale, and they would do anything to trade places with the twins’ group at the moment, who were pretty far away already.

"RUNNNNN!!!"

Sure enough, those ten or so dead experts caused another ten or so yellow light balls to appear. Three of them were much bigger, and anyone with a brain would easily guess that those three were probably related to the Divinity Realm experts who died. The next explosion... was bound to be terrifying!

The world seemed to go silent for a split second, and a bright, destructive light followed, as if a new sun was born there.

*BOOOOMMM!!!*

Another explosion, this time even bigger than the explosion that lured all these experts to the lake, followed. At the moment of the explosion, there were around two hundred and fifty experts around the lake. Of these, over a hundred were caught by it, not being able to flee in time.

Those who escaped the initial range of the explosion weren’t much better either. The shockwave followed, and a massive destructive energy was also present due to it being extremely close to the epicenter. Just the temperature alone felt like it would burn through the bones of the experts near it.

*Arrgghhh!*

Everyone was sent flying by the destructive force, not even the huge gravity was able to keep them on the ground. No one knows how many would survive it. Also, what about those who died now? Would they become fuel for the next explosion? Even more Space-Time and Divinity Realm Experts were killed by it, so one could only imagine the size of the next explosion. Those who could, and even if they couldn’t, tried to continue to run. The next explosion would make this last one look like child’s play!
