Death… And Me
Chapter 3559: Not Illusions

Chapter 3559: Not Illusions

Elsie was conflicted for a second. Many possibilities passed through her head. Why would they try such a dangerous, ridiculous, possibly fatal action? She couldn’t understand. However, she remembered that the twins’ group was pretty much made up of ridiculousness. "Fuck!"

And so, she metaphorically closed her eyes and shot forward, running after the twins’ group. She has already taken all these risks so far, so she might as well see it through to the very end.

It only took a minute for the twins and the Energy Beasts to meet in the middle. The beasts in front, obviously, noticed the twins’ group, many of them changing direction and charging at the twins. Elsie felt terrified. With those beasts’ speed, there was no way she could flee anymore.

Yet, just as the beasts pounced at the twins...

*Zru, zru, zru, zru, zru...*

They passed right through them. There was no damage, no impact, no fight, no nothing. The beasts made biting motions, but their teeth touched nothing. Then, as if they didn’t care about the twins’ group anymore, they continued to charge into the distance, running after the many experts who fled.

"Eh?!" Elsie saw that and finally understood. "Illusions?!"

"Not quite. Hahaha!" Rean laughed in front while Elsie followed. "These Energy Beasts do exist, but they were made just to look terrifying. There is so little energy in their bodies that we end up passing through them. If you concentrate your Divine Sense, you will feel their energy, as feeble as it might be."

Sure enough, Elsie noticed that. There was truly very little Divine Energy, and some elements, especially light, in those beasts’ composition. That said, they were not illusions as they still had some ’physicality,’ they just couldn’t cause any damage. "H-How did you know that?"

Rean faintly smiled, but didn’t explain. "That’s a little secret."

Well, it was actually pretty simple. When the beasts appeared, the twins’ group, as well as all the other groups who were running there, were still several tens of kilometers of distance from the explosion area. With Divine Senses so limited, none of them could rely on it to check on the Energy Beasts. Of course, they could try to approach the beasts, but that seemed suicide, considering the speed the beasts showed. Above all, because they looked like Beasts made of Energy, Natural Spatial Perception was useless. They didn’t have cultivation, only power.

However, the twins’ group had both Rean and especially Celis. Even without his Divine Energy capable of reaching that distance to check, Celis’s perception towards energy was unmatched in this place. He instantly noticed that those Energy Beasts were completely harmless. There was simply not enough energy for them to do anything.

As for Rean, his area was Light Element, which these beasts used a lot to look dangerous. He was able to use the Light Element distortions to tell that the beasts were indeed just for show. Celis and Rean, through Divine Sense, told what they felt, and the conclusion was reached instantly. Charge! Ignore the beasts completely!

"We aren’t alone," Kentucky suddenly spoke, his Natural Spatial Perception being the best in their group. Everyone turned their heads in the direction he pointed.

It wasn’t like only the twins’ group had the means to tell these beasts were fake. There were countless types of skills capable of assessing situations from longer distances than the actual limit of Divine Senses. So, those with access to such skills also perceived the same things as the twins’ group. Of course, there were also those who simply followed such groups, feeling like they were missing something.

More of such groups began to appear inside Kentucky’s Natural Spatial Perception range, and the ones he noticed early soon appeared inside the Spatial Perceptions of the rest of their group. The same could be said for said groups, many eyes turning in their direction.

Soon, everyone began to converge as they approached the center of the explosion, and that allowed their Divine Senses to reach each other. It goes without saying that the twins’ group was the one that caught most of the attention. Let’s not forget, the cultivations were being suppressed to the Transition Realm, but it was still possible to see the real cultivation levels with Divine Sense.

Roan faintly smiled. ’This is good for us.’

Elsie didn’t see how this could be good. They were standing out quite a bit. No doubt all those groups around, and the ones still coming, had Divine Realm Experts in their midst. The first one to get close would definitely try to kill them, thinking it was better to not have some ants bothering them in the future.

However, to Elsie’s surprise, the various groups approached each other more, including them, but no one tried to do anything to the twins’ group. ’This... why are they ignoring us?’

’The possibilities that lie ahead,’ Rean commented. ’We don’t know what is at the center of that explosion, and everyone is moving fast to not be left behind. However, as you probably noticed, no group is truly at its maximum speed. You don’t know what could be ahead. So, would you spend your precious time and energy to deal with us? No one sees us as a threat at the moment. Instead, the other groups are the real threat, and their attention is solely focused on each other.’

’Besides,’ Rifindio bitterly smiled, ’there is a chance they will try to force us to do the same thing as Derravan did, forcing us to go ahead and test the waters.’

That Divine Sense conversation took only a second, but that second was enough for them to get even close to the center. Had they had their real cultivations unlocked, they would all have arrived at the center and gone back several times by now.

As they were closer to the center of the explosion, the smoke and dust were dense, making it hard to see well. Yet, everyone soon noticed that the smoke and dust cleared completely a few kilometers ahead through their Divine Senses.

*Flu, flu, flu, flu, flu, flu...*

The groups jumped out of the smoke and dust one after another, almost all at the same time. Naturally, so did the twisn’ group. Then, ahead, something stood out. In fact, several things...

"Waterfalls? Were there waterfalls in this place before?" Someone couldn’t help but speak out.

Everyone became suspicious. This flat land was spotless before the explosion, so those waterfalls, which were quite high, should have been visible a long time ago. Yet, only after the explosion did they appear. Of course, considering the fake Energy Beasts, it was very possible that these waterfalls were also fake. Or, on the other hand, they were being concealed, and only by getting close would you be allowed to see them.

Another thing stood out in those waterfalls. Each one of them had a different water color, a color that matched each of the Universes’ experts. Remember that the experts of each Universe had a light in their chest that couldn’t be concealed. The twins’ Universe, for example, was green. Was that an indication of which Waterfall they should approach?

"Hey, look!" Another expert pointed out.

Not too far from the waterfalls, they noticed a few bodies floating on the lake where the waterfalls converged. No, to be more precise, they were pieces of bodies. Without a doubt, they had quite a brutal death.

"Well, I guess we know who caused the explosion earlier..."
