Death… And Me -

"Hum?" As Rean looked into the Werdlem Network, the images from the information on his CD contorted a little before they went back to normal. Yet, Rean wasn’t an idiot, and he knew why. He quickly posted a new message in a random part of the Werdlem Network without leaving traces, then...
*Plack!*
Rean took out the VS Chip from his CD, crushing it with his hand. "Meh... seems like the control over the Werdlem Network is even more strict in this place. Let’s leave. It won’t be long before some nice guys start showing up."
They jumped on Kentucky’s back, and the bird shot into the distance. No more than five minutes passed, and a Spatial Gate appeared right where Rean had crushed his VS chip. A man came out of it, spreading his Divine Sense and checking the several tens of thousands of kilometers around.
He easily found the crater created by Rean’s landing. Yet, he couldn’t find anything else. Whoever did it had already disappeared. Then he took his own VS Device out, contacting someone else. ’I’m too late. The intruder has already left. I can’t tell which direction it was. Most likely, the intruder can use Spatial Gates as well.’
-That matches the information. The guy called Handolo mentioned that the enemy was probably as strong as him, at the very least.- the answer came a moment later. -Go around and check the cities in the surroundings and see if you can find anything. If not, come back.-
’Understood,’ the man accepted the order. Then, another Spatial Gate appeared, and he left the area.
Little did he know, but just a few hundred kilometers away, a simple and small concealing formation had been built. Inside, just a spatial entrance to the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm could be found.
[Alright, he is already gone,] Sister Orb spoke.
"Let’s stay here a few more days, just in case," Roan had no intention of breaking cover at that moment, though.
Rifindio looked at Rean, puzzled. "How did you know they were coming?"
"The VS Chip," Rean explained. "A moment after I connected to the Werdlem Network, there was a slight interference in the signal. No doubt my access had been tagged and someone was watching where I was connected from. Don’t worry, I’m not all that surprised. It is to be expected that the security at the Center of the Divine Realm is tighter."
Zangeshu continued from there. "Most likely, they noticed the VS Chip Rean used came from a continent way too far from here. Not to mention, we caused quite a ruckus to come to this place. So, the guys managing the Werdlem Network in this area were likely watching over any new ID connections, especially Werdlem Stone IDs that were registered outside of the Center of the Divine Realm."
"I see..." Rifindio understood. "So we need to go buy new VS Chips in this place before connecting again, right?"
"Yes," Rean nodded. "Fortunately, there was enough time to leave a message for the others."
Rean was talking about his friends who separated from him back in the Divine Snow World, like Tanxan’s group. The good thing about the Werdlem Network being all-encompassing was that you had many places where you could leave a completely random message that only the other part would understand the meaning. Rean and the others had come up with these secret codes before parting from each other, and now, Rean used them.
Of course, if the twins’ friends were still in the Divine Snow World, they wouldn’t see it since the Divine Snow World network is isolated. But once outside, Tanxan and the rest would already know where to look. The message Rean left was about this security measure Rean just experienced. It was a warning for them to not commit the same mistake. And since Rean didn’t find any messages for his group, chances were none of the others left the Divine Snow World yet.
They weren’t that worried about being found a moment ago, though. The ID Rean used was from a Demon Beast that Zangeshu got rid of during his training. It was during the time Rean and Kentucky flew to Calamigas instead of teleporting straight there. It was very convenient to have such spare IDs, and now, the Supreme Palace would most likely check on that Demon Beast’s territory, not that the twins’ group cared about it.
Still, that was a good opportunity, so instead of staying a few days, their group actually stayed in that place for over a year. It was a good way to have the dust settle down and make those looking for that ’Demon Beast’ think it had fled somehow.
Naturally, everyone cultivated during that time, much to Celis’s happiness. With all the cultivation he did alone on his side for their group, it was enough for Rean, Roan, Celis, and Kentucky to reach the Middle Stage of the Space-Bending Realm. Celis’s presence truly made a huge difference.
The concealing formation came down, and Rean appeared outside again with Kentucky. "So, according to the map I saw before my connection got tagged, there was supposed to be a city called Klihus northwest of here."
"Are we going there?" Kentucky asked straight away.
"Nope!" Rean shook his head. "We will do the same thing as last time we were trying to avoid being caught. We will ignore the various cities in the surroundings and fly somewhere else. With your speed, we should be able to cross 10% or so of this continent in a week. Only then will we enter a city and buy the VS Chips we need."
"Gotcha!" Kentucky didn’t mind and immediately took flight, shooting into the distance. At the same time, Rean activated his Light and Divine Sense Bending Skill, making both of them disappear from sight and sense.
That turned out to be the right choice. Not even two hours passed, and Rean’s Divine Sense Bending Skill already caught the presence of a Divine Sense passing and being bent by it. "Divinity Realm Late Stage?"
