Chapter 4681: Chapter 757: Doomsday (13)

The Skrulls and Kree who woke up in the hospital ward were almost in tears. What did I say? What did I say?!!

Is it really necessary to eat this meal?!

Indeed, mechanized transformation is the only way for civilization. Look at those bird people. The cafeteria is built on a nuclear missile silo, and they dare to eat there. Well, look at the trouble now?

The reason why their emotion is now "wanting to cry but having no tears" instead of anger is partly because their own people didn’t die, and partly because these two nations understand Asgard and Earth’s temperament the best.

With the temperament of the successive Divine Kings of Asgard, don’t tell me whose fault it is after all. If you dare disrespect me on my territory, and I don’t hammer you into paralysis, then Asgard just came out from the west of the World Tree.

Humans have killed so many people of the Shi’ar Empire; no matter who provoked whom, and who shot first, this celebration can’t be held for sure. Isn’t this a heavy blow to Asgard’s face? The human race was wrong to kill, but behind closed doors, it’s their own people. Wasn’t the Shi’ar Empire not at fault at all?

Logically speaking, if Asgard should completely fall out with the Shi’ar Empire, then the Skrulls and Kree should be happy. After all, the three of them are at war now. If Asgard no longer helps the Shi’ar Empire, the chance of helping them would increase.

But Asgard doesn’t think like that. Their brains don’t work that way. They would think, if you three don’t fight, you won’t come to seek my support; if you don’t seek it, I won’t invite you over; if I don’t invite you over, I won’t lose face like this. Ultimately, it’s because your war stirred it up. One battle or three battles, it’s still a fight. Asgardian fears nothing as much as war. Just bring it on!

Asgard is a civilization ready to fight at any time and any place. Even without a reason, they would look for one to go to war, let alone now when there is an existing reason? If war and peace are two buttons, any Asgardian would smash the war button without even looking.

No matter how much room there is for negotiation, they wouldn’t choose to negotiate. These brutes have just two words in their minds: "go to war." Once anything happens that gives them a chance to launch a war, don’t bother about right and wrong, don’t bother who the real culprit is; just beat everyone present as a conclusion.

What further frustrates the two nations is that these madmen have been holding back for quite some time. Several years have passed since the last time Asgard hosted a banquet for various civilizations, announcing their official return to the economic society. The brutes of Asgard haven’t been in war for years, haven’t they gone crazy being stifled? Once they fight, won’t they go all out?

If the Skrull Empire and Kree Empire had done something indeed, it would be a different matter. The problem is that they really did nothing!

The first to apply pressure on Asgard was the Shi’ar Empire. The so-called rumor of using strategic-level weapons against the World Tree also came from the Shi’ar Empire. They are two absolutely rational mechanical civilizations, how could they be so mad as to threaten another with a nuclear bomb?

The Skrull Empire and Kree Empire were truly speechless, could you carbon-based lifeforms not drag us into your madness?! What does it have to do with us two anyway?!

However, they understood that Asgard certainly couldn’t be dissuaded now. At this point, the brutes’ brains are all boiling; reasoning with them is pointless. The only thing left to do is to seek reasoning with the Shi’ar Empire.

To prevent Asgard from going mad, the Shi’ar Empire must quickly handle this matter. If they indeed have the justification, they should promptly reveal the truth, create some public pressure in the Interstellar Society, and then privately talk with Asgard. Even if it means providing some compensation, as long as it pacifies Asgard, that’s all that matters.

If they indeed aren’t justified, then proper compensations and apologies must be made. The people they sent proved unreliable, causing such trouble and nearly dragging everyone down, indeed some blood must be shed. This is something that cannot be helped.

Kart hurriedly asked his deputy to contact the Skrull Emperor and have him send a letter to the Queen of the Shi’ar Empire. The Supreme Wisdom of the Kree Empire also made an emergency call, urging the Queen to swiftly address the matter. The contradictions in the interstellar situation cannot be intensified anymore.

Originally, none of the three of them wanted to fight much anyway; if they pull Asgard down as the fourth party, then this war will never cease.

Who would have thought, halfway through the call, they heard that the Shi’ar Empire declared war on Asgard.

Even the Supreme Wisdom, a supercomputer, couldn’t help but curse, Lilandra, do you have a screw loose?!!

When Asgard roamed the cosmos previously, who wasn’t troubled by these pirates? They exhibited a change of heart, and so many victimized civilizations in interstellar society could let bygones be bygones to appease them. Finally, they were coaxed ashore, and now you’re about to kick them back into the water?!

Kart opened a video in the hospital room of the speech by Queen Lilandra of the Shi’ar Empire. The Queen was filled with anguish, the anger between her brows almost overflowing:

"We cannot accept such a tragedy! A whole fourteen noble offspring of the Shi’ar Empire have died in Asgard! They are terrible butchers! The Shi’ar Empire absolutely cannot tolerate such provocation..."

At this point, Kart turned off the video. He had a pretty good idea of what was going on.

The Shi’ar Empire isn’t a monarchy; it’s a co-rule by the monarch and the nobles. Although the Queen has power, the nobility is not easy to deal with. These nobles aren’t that smart, probably thinking this mission was a sure success and wanted their offspring to earn some credit. Unexpectedly, they suffered total defeat, something the nobles surely cannot accept.

The discontent among the nobles is so great that the Queen has no choice but to find a way to placate them. She must fight even if she doesn’t want to, or else she won’t be able to keep the nobles in check.

The best way to divert internal conflicts is to start a war. With so many noble offspring dead, the Queen can’t handle it and can only choose to escalate the war. Once the Rainbow Bridge lands on them, naturally, no one will covet her throne anymore.

Though it’s clear the Queen has no other choice, Kart deeply sighed. I’ve told you, carbon-based lifeforms are unreliable! Either they’re foolish, constantly causing trouble, or they’re mentally unstable, always thinking about war; or they’re power-hungry, willing to destroy the cosmos for power.

Kart really wanted to shout, "Oh heavens, oh earth, Eternity, open your eyes and see! Carbon-based lifeforms have no future. They will only drag the cosmos into an explosion!"

But it didn’t stop there. Shocking news came one after the other. At this moment, Asgard responded.

"Here, I must regretfully announce that in this unexpected incident, besides the citizens of the Shi’ar Empire, one of our human friends was seriously injured. And for him, this was an unprovoked disaster. As the lord of Earth and a friend of human civilization, Asgard will not stand idly by!" Thor announced gravely.

When Kart saw this video, he abruptly sat up in bed. "Wait. Who got hurt? A human?!"

"But didn’t they say it was the humans who took those guys out?"

As he was puzzling over it, Asgard released footage of the incident. After watching it, Kart’s head was buzzing. Are the people of the Shi’ar Empire insane? You’re having a meal peacefully, and then you activate a Shield!

Originally, he thought this would only be of two situations: either the Shi’ar Empire provoked the humans, and the humans retaliated, or the humans provoked and then acted.

Unexpectedly, the humans did nothing; those Shi’ar Empire people acted like madmen, suddenly yelling and leaping into the air to activate a Shield, damaging the place. Even those humans who are easily provoked would react by drawing their weapons if they saw that scene.

But then again, the arriving Ferocious Feather Tribe were all noble scions, accustomed to arrogance in their own homes, as if the cosmos was their playground. Such spoiled habits aren’t easy to change. Who would’ve thought they’d hit a hard wall this time?

From the video, it appeared the other humans had fled, so the injured human Thor mentioned could only be that young girl who intervened. Kart enlarged the video for a closer look, and upon seeing the girl’s face, he snapped the video off.

"What’s wrong, sir?" his deputy asked.

Kart pressed his lips tightly and said, "Big trouble."

"Someone has harmed my daughter."

When Magneto’s face appeared on the screen, everyone’s breath caught for a moment.

"She was young and healthy. Before the incident, all she was thinking about was having breakfast and then meeting her boyfriend. And now, my young and healthy daughter lies in a hospital bed, seriously injured from losing control of her powers—someone must answer for this."

"Perhaps you don’t know who I am." Magneto suddenly raised his voice, "But that’s okay; soon you will."

The video abruptly ended, the voice dipping at the end, causing everyone’s heart to skip a beat.

Not know who Magneto is? Impossible! One of the most powerful humans in history. His notorious fame in the Andromeda Galaxy has long spread across the cosmos. Even when nobody provokes him, he could still go on robbing sprees daily, unconcerned with the guards of the Three Great Empires. Having his daughter hurt means he won’t let this go easily.

The human side quickly responded too.

"I am Captain America Steve, also the navigator of the Earth Court. Earth takes very seriously the injury of a fellow Mutant. Meanwhile, we deeply regret the behavior of the Three Great Empires and their after-the-fact handling attitude. We cannot accept that after harming our compatriots, someone would still want to harm the victim again with such cold-blooded and shameless arrogance. Humanity will not accept this kind of threat."

"Perhaps we are still small and have never held a place on the interstellar stage. But being small does not mean weak; we have never feared challenges nor been intimidated by any shameless provocations. If backstabbing or indifference is your stance, Three Great Empires, humanity will make you understand that bullying the weak will not end well for you—you’ve messed with the wrong people!"
