Date a Witch: Reborn as the Witch of Lust! (GL)
Chapter 43: Meeting the Crybaby Princess!

Chapter 43: Meeting the Crybaby Princess!

As she returned to her inn room, Mel met Lila, who was studying at a table, which was filled with a colorful variety of dishes.

Thanking the inn lady for lending out the kitchen for them, they ate side-by-side with such ease and comfort that it reminded Mel of the family celebratory dinner she used to have.

It was a memory she wished to relive. In a way, the warmth persisted here, taking a different shape.

The following night was uneventful, with Mel offering to sleep together and Lila surprisingly refusing, stating,

"If... if we sleep together now, I don’t think we can hold back with each other any longer..."

[ Envy stared at your lips, then at your body with a sense of longing! ]

[ Envy favourability: 90 -> 92 ]

Mel took a deep breath, watching her blushing girlfriend shift restlessly in place. Lila made a modest comment, for the Witch of Lust wished to eat her inside out.

Ultimately, she respected her girlfriend’s wish, by slipping into Lila’s bed after confirming with the System that she was already asleep. She was gladly greeted with a flustered Lila and a hand chop afterwards.

After packing the luggage into Mel’s inventory and one last breakfast cooked by the lovely inn lady, they headed off to settle in the academy dormitory. As the Elite Class, they have the right to settle in earlier.

On the way, Lila asked Mel, frowning. "Are you sure you’re alright after last night? You seem a little dazed."

Mel blinked at Lila, searching her thoughts for an ’appropriate’ answer. "A lot has just happened, so I need more time to process everything. Especially..."

She glanced down. Then, unable to hold back any longer, she leaned in and pressed her lips to Lila’s.

Her lover yelped like a frightened sparrow before turning away with a blush. "I-I get it... mm, kind of like the next stage in our relationship, or something more than that.

[ Envy realised you and she are lovers beyond lovers. Hey, when will you two really do the deed? ]

[ Favourability: 92 -> 93 ]

Will you be watching it too when we do it? Mel asked inwardly, flashing a menacing smile at the System panel, before softening her expression as she turned to Lila. "Not liking how close we are?"

Lila shuddered a little, stopping before the academy entrance gate that seemed taller than she remembered. "Of course I like it. But everything takes time to get used to, and I’m just... looking forward to..."

Catching the growing blush on Lila’s cheeks, Mel bit back a chuckle and gently pushed open the gate. "I got it. Me too."

The Witch of Envy followed as she lowered her head. "Mmm. Maybe I should study a little more, too? About what to do when the time comes, I mean."

Don’t laugh. Don’t laugh.

Mel uttered these words like a mantra inside her mind, before taking Lila’s hand. "Don’t be nervous. I don’t want you to imagine lewd thoughts while studying for magic, you know?"

Lila held back a whimper, her heartbeat pounding in her chest. "Of course! I-I just don’t want the two of us to be too awkward when the time comes."

"Oh?" Mel ’gasped’. "So you do know it’s my first time as well?"

Lila squinted her eyes, resisting the urge to pout in defiance of her character setting. "Is it not? Don’t tell me you have kissed someone other than me in your Witch form."

The Witch of Lust’s golden eyes flickered with slight hesitation before curving in amusement. "My dear Lila. Are you perhaps feeling uneasy? I can push you down and kiss you again if you like."

The Witch of Envy, naturally, hid her envy by glancing away in shame. "Dummy Mel."

Mel chuckled at Lila’s helplessness, sensing how Lila’s hand wrapped tighter around hers. She knew it would be long before Lila got used to her antics, but the Witch of Lust had all the time to ease her before the {Draconic Invasion}.

After walking on the marble pavement that adorned the road, they have finally arrived at the dormitory area in the Academy’s East.

Several whitestone buildings lined the road, enclosed by a wall guarded by a security officer, who the System stated to be at least Expert ranked.

After the guard confirmed their identities through <Magic Imprints> and a written register, they headed in without much trouble.

Mel mused on the Adept-ranked spell. There were very few accessible spells that directly confirmed one’s identity, and <Magic Imprint> was one of them, designed by the Academy’s principal.

She couldn’t help but mock how easily this system could be exploited in the future, as Mel and Lila’s steps stopped upon witnessing something unexpected.

"Hic....hic..."

A flicker of disbelief crossed Mel’s eyes. She knew from the start that characters from the original apocalyptic timeline would be different from their young self, but this particular one was a little more surprising.

Short and slight, a girl with deep violet hair sat curled up by the dorm entrance, quietly crying as she hugged her petite frame. She wore an intricate yellow dress with a long, flowing skirt, like a packaged doll that who could be easily broken.

Mel recognised this pitiful figure. However, all of the Kingdom should easily recognise her at a glance.

She was going to help her, only to pause as Lila gently pulled her back.

Her stare met Lila’s emerald, concerned eyes, her lover whispering. "Don’t, Mel. Getting involved with a... a Royalty like her would garner you too much attention. Better to keep low for your identity instead."

Mel widened her eyes before smirking with a murmur. "Trust me, Lila. Or perhaps you’re feeling possessive again?"

Lila grumbled, figuring there was nothing to hide. "Both. Of course it’s both."

"Hehe. I’m honoured." The Witch of Lust patted her sullen lover. "I plan only to lend some help. No worries."

She then let go of Lila’s hand before striding towards the violet-haired girl, humming in excitement.

How could she not be? She knew this crybaby, Third Princess, all too well.

"Hello!"

The violet-haired princess’s small frame trembled as she lifted her gaze to meet Mel’s golden eyes.

In her memory, they mirrored the Saintess’s. Those same divine orbs, radiant and distant, impossible to reach.

Yet unlike the Saintess’s, the Witch’s gaze held a real warmth. Not manufactured, but sincerely kind.
