Date a Witch: Reborn as the Witch of Lust! (GL) -
Chapter 39: Partner, What Are You Hiding?
Chapter 39: Partner, What Are You Hiding?
Mel nestled into the Saintess’s thighs, her eyes still closed as she listened. Initially, she expected more probing, more guessing.
Then, she changed her mind. She would like to know how much her partner wanted to reveal first.
The Saintess’s soothing whisper slipped into her ears. "I couldn’t tell you why or how, but by the time I found you, I knew a soul from another World was in the Witch’s body. And that soul also knew the Witches and this World’s future."
Mel’s cheek brushed against the thighs, contemplating idly while smothering herself with the plushiness beneath her.
The Saintess was a sacred figure, the Goddess was chosen to hold<Seven Virtues>. In the System’s term, it is a <Series> that made her capable of using all the abilities from the Witches at a lower power level, including Sloth’s mastery of <Prophecy>.
Perhaps there is more, but <Prophecy> magic serves as a sufficient explanation for now.
The Saintess patted Mel’s head as she continued. "I dislike the Witches for... personal reasons, but it is true they remained innocent and unawakened."
Mel’s hand skimmed the Saintess’s. "That’s kind of you."
The Saintess chuckled, reciprocating Mel’s touch as she caressed her fingers. "Perhaps so. I have a good example."
"Oh. The goddess or me?"
"Take a guess."
She then fiddled with Mel’s ear. "More than that, you should also know the condition of my <Sealing Chamber> against Pride. Any harm against them? The Chamber will break without me noticing."
Mel purred. "Miss Pride sure cared for us."
Though extremely difficult, the <Sealing Chamber> is not impossible to break through for the Witch of Pride, but only at a grave cost.
Instead of allowing such a possibility, the Saintess made a deal with Pride: As long as the other witches and her familiars were unharmed, she would remain quietly sealed despite her defeat.
"Perhaps a little too much." The Saintess’s hand moved to pinch Mel’s nose, enjoying Mel’s grumble as her lips curved to a cunning smile. "Though, I suppose she didn’t account for our cooperation."
Mel gently pushed away the Saintess’s hand, snickiering. "That I know. She was fangirling pretty hard until she spotted you as my System, right?"
The Saintess nodded, her expression softening. "As expected of you. My dealing with Pride still stands, but it won’t be applied to you, Mel."
"Oh. So, me seducing and preventing the Witches from destroying the World didn’t count, huh?"
"Of course. Pride was also happy her Witches’ tragic fates were prevented, so all has worked out between us, I suppose."
Then, she coughed twice, clearing her throat. "So, not as your deceiver, but as the Saintess of the Eternal Dawn, may I make a formal request to you, Mel?"
Mel, the ’deceived’, teased in a high-pitched, almost whimpering voice. "How shameless... we finally meet after 10 years, and the only thing you have is more work for me?"
The Saintess’s expression wavered, albeit with a knowing smirk. "Yes, partner. Better work for your witches, or I may lock you in the basement myself."
A naughty glint flashed in Mel’s eyes. "Don’t punish me with a good time."
The Saintess raised a brow. "Perhaps you are mistaken. That’s not for your punishment."
Then, the Saintess’s hand slid down Mel’s cheek to her neck.
"Mm..." Mel’s lips shivered, holding back a moan.
"I can never punish you, Mel. So instead." The Saintess whispered, caressing Mel’s neckline. "I’ll hoard you to myself, teach you pleasures beyond even your control, so that you can only live smothered by my love."
A huge flush of reddness came to Mel’s face. Is it just her, or this Saintess seemed a little... extreme?
Picturing Lila’s cuteness, Mel imitated with her eyes welling up with tears, her face flushing in a deep reddness. "So lewd... I didn’t know the Saintess was such a pervert..."
Drawing lazy circles on Mel’s exposed shoulder, the Saintess chuckled. "Only to you. So, listen carefully, my Mel."
She held up three fingers. "Currently, there are three Pride’s familiars confirmed to be alive after the war. The <Necomage> of the Witch Cult. The <Ice Dragon> of the North. And the <Shadow Fisherman> of the Elven Tribe."
The Saintess then sighed. "As you know, they all possessed immense powers, with or without inheriting Pride’s trait of <Time> and <Space>. And only <Awakened> witches stood a chance against them."
Mel furrowed. "Not the Archon ranked?"
The Saintess shook her head. "None of the humanity had as much power as the Witches, except me. In the near [ Draconic Invasion ] in the North, at least four Witches must stand united against the familiars."
She then brushed aside Mel’s hairlock, her solemn expression showing for Mel. "Too unreasonable?"
A glint of surprise flashed in Mel’s eyes. "Not exactly. It just got me thinking that I need to readjust. Originally, for our siege against the Dragons, a <Reality Marble> is needed to prevent damage to the cities."
Once activated, <Reality Marble> traps its opponent inside and can only be broken if its caster is incapacitated.
Unless it is Pride’s familiars who have inherited Pride’s trait of <Space>.
"Mm. Several Archon Mages’ <Reality Marble> was still not enough." The Saintess sighed. "That, in turn, means you need help from the Witch of Sloth for her calculative magic prowess."
Mel mused. "Not impossible. I’ll manage it with a few tea times."
The Saintess’s fingers slid into Mel’s pink hair, feeling its smoothness. "Don’t be so sure. That Student Council President was arguably the most troublesome for your conquest of seduction."
Chuckling, Mel put an index finger over her lips. "No worries. A couple of sincere tea times would do."
She would have to enlist Ed’s help for her plans, then. And most importantly...
"And I will make sure to rope Rosana in as well." Mel’s voice carried a heavy tone. "This time, the tragedy that befell her and her homeland won’t happen."
Unlike Pride, her familiars were destructive beings that sought either ’loyal tributes’ or glorious achievements.
That meant all three of them were not fond of other Witches, which stood as opposition in the power hierarchy against Pride.
As such, in a mindless loyalty against their Master’s wish, they sought to control or eliminate the <Unawakened> Witches.
Funny enough, the Ice Dragon’s attack with the { Draconic Invasion } led to Greed’s awakening.
As to how Pride and her familiar knew there were other Witches... well, that is related to Elves and the Witch of Sloth, so that shall be left aside for much later.
However, Mel’s features hardened. "So."
It is time for the most critical question.
"Why and how Wrath has awakened this early, Partner? Any chance that it is related to you?"
She had a feeling Maria won’t answer, even determined to lie her way through, but Mel had to try.
She did promise not to leave anyone behind, after all. Whether that ’Wrath’ is still the one she remembered, she would do everything in her power to save her, using any knowledge she could get her hands on.
