Chapter 38: The Saintess is Seducing me?!

In the Southern District, the Academy of Solaria stood tall between noble and residential quarters, its towering shadow looming over both as if casting equal judgement upon both.

At this powerful institution, a small chapel nestled at the edge, its wall cloaked with unkempt vines and its corners scattered with leaves, a potent blend of nature and innocence created a serene atmosphere.

The quiet night cast a graceful moonlight upon the humble sanctuary, as a Witch’s golden eyes scanned the church with cautious golden eyes in the sky.

She sat astride a boom, hands casually clasping the handle as she mused.

"No guards. No cardinals. No nuns either. Do they know there’s a Saintess inside?"

Mel tilted her head. After asking Nyxia, her summon reluctantly revealed that the Saintess Maria’s latest known location was a forgotten Academy Church.

She already knew from the character sheets; the Saintess always preferred solitude when she was not ’scheming’ for the World’s safety.

She gave the boom beneath her a gentle stroke. "<Ka-broom>. Good work. Leave the rest to me."

Desite her impulsive mind, Ka-broom relaxed under her mistress’s touch. She wished nothing more than to bust through the chapel windows like a superhero, but she knew better than to question her mistress’s will.

Lowering herself, the Witch desummoned the broom and landed herself with a plop, her steps intruding on the sacred ground.

She stepped forward, a strange sense of relief filling her heart.

The cool breeze that stroked her cheeks and the crunchy snaps of leaves beneath her feet as she walked created a peace she hadn’t felt in years, even when her nails dug into her palm in excitement.

With a wheeze, she slowly opened the chapel door. The interior was small and homely. Only three rows of benches sat before a goddess statue, as the moon filtered in, creating a backdrop of shadows that danced across the wooden floor.

And amongst the dustiness, a lone white nun kneeled between the benches at a distance from the statue, perhaps in reverence or ignorance.

The Witch smiled mischievously. "Praying at a time when you will meet a Witch? How punctual."

The Saintess’s shoulders shook upon her voice, then glanced up at the statue and replied lightly.

"Of course. I never miss a ’prayer’, not since when I brought you here 10 years ago."

She stood up, then turned around, her hands clasped at the front gently.

If not for the smirk on her face, Mel would have mistaken her for the purest embodiment of divinity.

Her golden eyes curved. The Saintess seemed so close, yet so far away. "Partner."

The Saintess’s hand rested against her chin. "Miss Witch seemed to have been mistaken. This is only our second time meeting, no?"

Mel chortled. "Playing games now, aren’t we?"

The Saintess tilted her head, her innocent puppy gaze shining through her blindfold. "Exactly."

She moved to a bench, sweeping the dust aside. "Right now. We meet as sinners with a common goal to protect the World, not as ’Mel and her System’."

The Saintess smiled, gesturing. "Sit now. You must have many questions."

The Witch’s expression softened, the dust at the Saintess’s outstretched palm gleaming in the moonlight.

She stepped towards her. "Will you answer all of them?"

The Saintess shook her head. "Many truths were more overwhelming than you can imagine. Besides, I want my secrets kept as well."

Then, a smirk returned to the nun’s face. "Not unlike your wish to have a harem."

"How delightfully similar we are then."

The Witch, in the Saintess’s surprise, took her dusted hand.

Mel’s thumb pressed gently against the Saintess’s delicate skin. Smooth without ridges, only marred by faint grains of ash, remnants of church’s neglect.

She glanced up, meeting the blindfolded eyes with playfulness. "If you don’t mind, partner, shall we hold hands until we finish speaking?"

The Saintess’s lips parted slightly. "Really, Miss Witch?"

Mel nodded. "Of course. A Saintess is no goddess. She must also naturally have a desire for intimacy after all."

"No." The Saintess chuckled. "I am a sinner. Of course, Craving contact is merely an inevitability as deigned by the scriptures."

The Witch blinked, confused at the Saintess’s claim. "I don’t recall you ever reading them, though?"

In character sheets, the Saintess was described as a prodigy, yet was unfortunately illiterate due to her unwillingness to learn.

She would have earned the title for ’Sloth’ if she were not blessed with the <Seven Virtues> by the goddess.

The Saintess’s smile widened. "Only gives me a better excuse, no? Besides..."

Mel shuddered as the Saintess’s hand slid around her waist, trapping her other hand in a soft grip.

Before she could react, the Saintess pulled her gently before leaning in, her voice graceful without a hint of impurity as she muttered.

"Shouldn’t you ask for more, Mel?"

The Witch’s ear reddened. The breath was tinged with a faint scent of holy water and candle wax, tickling her senses with divinity that overwhelmed her.

"Hehe." She breathed out. "Too bold."

As if not hearing her, the Saintess drew herself further, the lips almost touching her ear. "Don’t like it?"

She bowed her head, the heat on her cheeks almost unbearable. "Far from it."

Addictively sweet. Mel hung her head, contemplating how this must be how Lila feels every time she teased her.

Maria withdrew her grasp, her expression at ease as if she had performed a violating act. "Do care enough to make yourself comfortable. I do like you, Mel."

She then turned to walk towards the bench’s edge. "No matter if you believe me, I’ll never hurt you. I always hide who I am, what I am, but I’ll reveal whatever I can to you when the time demands it."

She sat on the wood, a melancholic relief washing over her as she stared at Mel, who attempted to hide her embarrassed blush.

So much to tell, so much to hide. She wanted nothing more than to guide Mel ahead for the fastest and safest route available, if not for her respect of Mel’s wishes.

Her hands slapped on her thighs. "Now, come and sleep for a bit. We have much to discuss."

The Witch’s golden eyes shivered a little, the invitation too tempting. "Why do you seem better at this than I am?"

Then, the Saintess’s lips curled up to a foxy grin. "I learn from the best."

Mel, unexpectedly even to herself, pouted. Had she unknowingly ensared herself in a honey trap for the past ten years?

How infuriating! She thought as she stomped to the Saintess, her hat slipping aside as she lay down, resting her head on the Saintess’s thighs.

She muttered, like an excuse perfectly prepared for them. "I suppose it’s fine if we both enjoyed it."

The Witch then closed her eyes, mewling. The Saintess’s thighs, exposed daringly without stockings, were too plump with a heavenly squishiness.

The Saintess brushed aside her hairlock, admiring Mel’s comforted expression. "Of course. If you would like, I can give as much as you want. For now..."

A seriousness flashed across the Saintess’s face as she frowned, contemplating.

There was too much at stake. While she wanted the Witch to herself, Mel would not abandon the other Witches to their tragic fates, unfortunately.

"Let’s start with why I kidnapped you here, partner."

So she must compromise. She must lie again.

For Mel. For herself.
