He looked at his wife for a moment before leaving the room to pick up the phone. Now, he is standing near a big glass window with a view that leads directly to the edge of the Misty Forest.

"First Brother... I can’t call my sister-in-law. Has she arrived at J? How is she?" Alex’s voice sounds worried.

"Her hands are being sutured, and she is unconscious due to general anesthesia. Maybe she’ll wake up tomorrow... You can call her tomorrow morning." Andrew said, then took a deep sigh. "How could your people not follow her?"

Andrew already got a complete story when they are ambushed by a sniper. And his people said that there was only his wife’s car at the scene, no one else.

He was very mad with XTeam. Because they promised to protect his wife. But, when they were needed, no one showed up.

Alex could understand Andrew’s anger. Because his team, who were following Mel, were so stupid, they lost track of her. He had already punished them for failing to carry out the mission.

After a while...

Andrew finished venting his anger and sounded calmer.

Alex finally explained to him what had happened...

"First brother, actually, we followed her to the warehouse. But you know sister-in-law, right? She doesn’t want to see someone tailing her. My people always keep their safe distance so as not to be seen by her. This morning when they were ambushed by assassins at the warehouse, my people didn’t know anything..." At this point, Alex was angry with his team member. Because even though Mel doesn’t want them to be seen, how could they not hear a gun fired?

But after he investigated in more detail, apparently, the assassins used silencers. That’s why they did not hear a gunshot from the crime scene and didn’t think there was a problem in the warehouse.

Alex continued, "When your men arrived, they were alerted and instantly wanted to take action. But then, they saw the sister-in-law’s car leaving the warehouse safely, so they thought nothing had happened...they just followed her as usual. However, they suddenly lost track of her, around the Misty mountain."

Alex feels so weird about this. How could they lose her track at Misty Mountain? How could a big van just disappear, like magic? He didn’t believe his team who reported about this.

But, when he checked the CCTV, he found nothing. No trace of Mel van around the Misty mountain. It was as if the big car had been swallowed by the earth.

"Brother... did your sister-in-law van disappear because of your people?" He knew that the Misty mountain belonged to Andrew, and he thought the van that suddenly disappeared had something to do with him.

Andrew doesn’t know how to react right now. He is still mad at them.

Luckily, today his wife was only shot in the arm. And he is also very grateful that his wife has multiple advanced gadgets and the ability to control machines. If she didn’t have the intelligent device, maybe something terrible would have happened to her.

Alex continued his words after waiting a few seconds but Andrew did not reply to his question.

"Well... After my people lost her track at the Misty mountain, they decided to wait for her at the W Group and MT Group building." Alex took a deep sigh before saying, "And I believe you know the rest of the story... After an hour, her van appears again at MTGroup. My people still don’t know about anything until you call me and inform me about this incident. Brother Andrew... I’m really sorry. I can’t guard her properly. You’re not the only one who’s scared, but I’m too... this is the first time I feel so scared in my life." Alex’s voice sounded very guilty and sad.

Andrew’s heart softened when he heard Alex’s voice.

"Alright... I’m not blaming you guys. But Mel is the only person in this world I would die for, Alex. So, please understand if I feel a bit angry now." Andrew retook a deep sigh. "How about Zack?"

"We have already arrested him. I personally will investigate this case. Don’t worry... I will make him rot in prison." Zack is really vicious. He ruined Mel’s family just for the sake of wealth.

"Alright then... if you want to talk to my wife, call her tomorrow morning." Andrew said, then hung up the phone. He just stood at his place without moving.

His eyes were sharp looking at the forest in front of him. His mind is busy thinking about his wife’s health and the result of her pregnancy test.

It wasn’t long before Ryan approached him from behind.

"First Brother..." Ryan calls Andrew.

Andrew turns his body and sees Ryan walking toward him... "How’s your sister-in-law’s condition?"

"She is in fast sleep, and her wound is already neatly sutured..." Ryan paused and gave Andrew a piece of paper before he said, "Brother, this is the sister-in-law’s pregnancy result." After Andrew accepted the report, Ryan said... "Congratulations, brother, you’ll become a father. Sister-in-law is pregnant."

Andrew’s hands trembled as he received the paper from Ryan. He saw the results, but his mind was too shocked to read it.

He lifts his head to see Ryan, "Are you telling the truth!?" His voice was shaking. When he saw Ryan answer him with a nod. Suddenly his heart seemed about to explode. He was thrilled.

Her wife is pregnant! Is he about to have a child? This is the best news he heard for this entire hectic day. Instantly all the irritation, fear of loss, and his dark aura disappeared now.

He feels blessed.

He left Ryan and ran to the room where his wife was being treated.

"First Brother..." Ryan Was about to ask him why sister in law was pregnant before their wedding? But Andrew had already left him. He immediately follows him with curiosity in his mind.

When Andrew entered the room, he saw his wife lay on the bed, her face looking like a sleeping angel. She was so beautiful even though her face looked pale.

Andrew sat in the chair beside her bed. Took her hand, and kissed it gently. He wanted to wake her up to celebrate this happy news but seeing her fast asleep made him pause. He couldn’t bear to wake her up.

He saw Ryan enter the room. He instructed him to move his wife to their penthouse. He doesn’t want her to wake up in this place, afraid she would be stressed.

Not long after, they arrive at the penthouse before midnight.

After making sure his wife was still sleeping comfortably, he lay down on the sofa. He was afraid of accidentally touching her wound, so he decided to sleep on the couch tonight.
