Damn! I Fall in Love With Him -
Chapter 147: Refuse To Get Married
Chapter 147: Refuse To Get Married
Lilly takes Mel to the third floor. The entire third floor is only used by Andrew. By the time they arrived on the third floor, Instantly, Mel had remembered her childhood.
She used to come to this floor following Andrew. When she visited the W Mansion with her grandfather.
She spent most of her time in this open space on the third floor which is designed in a rustic style. Usually, she watches TV while Andrew sleeps in his bedroom or studies in his study room. Or sometimes, she just sits on the couch on the veranda, looking at the lake view behind W Mansion.
Besides, she also went to Andrew’s study room, sitting silently in the corner watching him study. At that time, Andrew never spoke to her, but he never kicked her out or got angry with her.
"Mom, this place is still the same as before?" Mel looked around the large living room, which was neat and clean. Looks like someone cleans the room daily.
"You’re right. Even though Andrew doesn’t live here anymore and rarely visits us, we keep his room neat and clean. Now, you will marry him soon, then you can renovate this floor as you like. You guys can stay here whenever you come to W Mansion."
Mel blushed when she heard Lilly say that.
It felt like all of this was still like a dream to her. Before, she had a crush on Andrew, while Andrew never expressed his interest to her. Now they meet again, and everything changes. They both fall in love and decide to get married. In the span of a few months, her status will change to Ms. William.
Lilly invited Mel to sit on the white couch near the huge glass window. They sat side by side.
"Mel, I heard about your mother." Mel was stunned, surprised to hear Lilly say about her late mother.
Lilly, who felt Mel’s body stiff, held her hand and squeezed it gently. "Mel, I know, I can’t replace Linda, being your mother. But I will always be here when you need a mother’s hug or when you need someone to talk about. I will always be here for you."
Mel, who cannot see Lilly’s eyes, can only look down at her hand, which Lilly still holds tightly. Her eyes were blurry. She was holding back her tears that were about to fall.
"You know that I’m good friends with your mother, right?" Mel nods.
"In the past, we always wanted to match you two up. But because my son was too cold to you, we were so doubtful it would work. Several times we failed to ask him." Lilly chuckled. Mel laughed too, remembering the old days, where Andrew had never spoken to her.
Lilly continues, "But, you know what? When you suddenly leave, Andrew goes straight to your father and asks for your new address, but they don’t even know where you’ve moved. He also asked me to look for your mother, but I couldn’t find Linda either. At that time, we even hired detectives to track you and Linda, but to no avail." Lilly sighs deeply.
Mel slowly raises her head and sees Lilly in the eyes. She never knew that Andrew’s mother had hired a detective to track them.
"After our efforts were in vain, Andrew finished his high school here and decided to move to the USA. He continued his study there and only returned to this country after he finished college. And, when he returned from the USA, his Grandpa asked him to get married. But Andrew refused. He said he wasn’t going to get married."
Mel is still listening to Lilly’s story. Her eyes widened when she heard Andrew vow didn’t want to get married.
Lilly laughed, "We thought he was a guy!"
Mel also laughed. She finds it hilarious to think once upon a time, Andrew’s mom thought he is gay.
"It’s because he’s never had a girlfriend, and he’s refusing to marry. One time, Old Will wanted to set him up with an old friend’s granddaughter, but Andrew threatened his Grandpa. He said he will erase his name from William’s registry." Lilly shook her head lightly while smiling at the same time, remembering her naughty son.
"WHAT?" Mel couldn’t hold anymore. "Mom, he said that to Grandpa Will?" She remembered a few days ago, he also said that to her. He will remove William from his name if the old man, not accept her to be his wife.
"Yes, we were all shocked. Turns out Andrew really didn’t want to get married. In the end, we gave up, leaving him to do whatever he liked." Lilly immediately hugged Mel, then in a grateful voice, she said, "Mel, I’m so grateful you’re back. Because if you don’t come back and meet him, maybe he will be single until he dies." Lilly laughed bitterly.
Mel could only smile hearing all of Lilly’s stories. In her heart, she was very grateful because Andrew loved her so much. So did she. She had always liked him. God really blesses them. After being separated by distance and time, they can finally meet again and now love each other. No longer one-sided love, but equal love.
"Mel, Mom, will leave you here. You can take a rest here while waiting for Andrew. It looks like the men will be talking for a long time downstairs..." Lilly pat Mel’s shoulder lightly then she walks out of the room. She also said she will ask someone to bring her a snack.
Now, Mel stays alone. She glanced at her watch, now the time is 9 PM. She couldn’t see the view from the large glass window beside her because it was very dark outside.
She rose from her seat and walked towards Andrew’s study room. When she opened the door, she felt nostalgic about her past in this room. Nothing had changed from the room.
There is still Andrew’s study table in the corner of the room with a bookcase behind, complete with Andrew’s book and his strophies.
In the other corner, she still saw a brightly colored sofa set, where she used to sit waiting for Andrew to study.
