Chapter 124: Future Husband

The next morning.

Mel was awakened by the sunlight coming in through the curtains on the side of the bed. Slowly she opened her eyes and was a little disappointed when she saw that Andrew was gone.

She immediately got up and looked at her cellphone, which was on the side of the bed table. There is a post-it on her cellphone.

[My Love, sorry I have to leave without saying goodbye. Call me after you read this message. -Andrew]

Mel immediately called him...

"Morning, My love." Andrew greeted her.

Mel smiled, hearing his addicting voice. "Andrew, where are you?" She asked in a hoarse voice.

"Sorry, My love, last night I forgot to tell you this morning I have a meeting in S city. So, I left before you woke up. I’ve prepared your breakfast, just go to the kitchen. Heat it in the microwave before you eat. Can you use a microwave?" He asks worriedly.

Mel chuckled. "Hmm, I can. I will do that. Thanks, Andrew, you are really kind."

Andrew laughed.

"Have you reached the city of S? When are you coming back?"

Andrew told her that he would come back to J city at noon and have dinner with her.

Like things that routinely happen in their daily lives, they exchange information about their respective activities. Today, Mel told Andrew that she will be at the office all day and will return to her grandmother’s house after that.

"My love, I will come to grandma’s house to pick you up for dinner."

Mel was thrilled to hear, tonight they were going on a date to one of their favorite restaurants, Wolfgang Steak House.

But after that, Mel was surprised to hear Andrew’s request. Well, this is not a request but an order that should not be refused.

"Andrew, I don’t need Hans to drive me here and there. I already have a driver from MT Group. Besides, I feel uncomfortable because Hans is your driver." Mel refused.

"My love, for this one, please don’t reject me." Andrew’s voice sounded firm and a bit overpowering. He adds, "Hans is not just a driver. He will be your bodyguard at the same time. He is very capable of protecting you. I don’t want what happened in town B to happen again. So please let me do my duty, as your future husband, to protect you, alright?"

Mel was speechless at the same time, she was happy because Andrew said ’future husband’ made her giggle silently, and her cheek felt warm.

"Hmm, alright. But I don’t want Hans to be too flashy if he is my bodyguard. If possible, he is like a shadow." Mel took a deep sigh, then she continued, "Can he do that?"

"Yes, he can. That is his ability. But he will disguise himself as your personal chauffeur." He said firmly.

"Fine," Mel said quietly.

After discussing a few things, Andrew finally hung up the phone because he had to lead a meeting soon.

And Mel immediately left the room and finished the breakfast that Andrew had prepared. Before leaving the house, she called Grandma and told her all the events at the Tanner Mansion.

After that, she went down to the lobby and met Hans, waiting for her in a black SUV.

Mel insists she doesn’t want to use Andrew’s luxury car. She wants to use a regular car. A standard vehicle, according to Andrew, in Mel’s eyes is a luxurious car!

She could only chuckle and then greet Hans with a smile.

"Hans, I hope you’re not disappointed because you will follow me," Mel said as the car started moving out of the basement.

"Of course not, young miss. My first duty and highest priority are to protect you, even with my life."

"But, I hope that if you follow me, don’t be too obvious. Because I’m not comfortable if I have to be followed anywhere." Mel said, laughing.

"Yes, young miss, don’t worry about that. It’s also part of my duty to be invisible, well, sort of," Hans replied to reassure her.

Not long after, Mel arrived at the MT Group’s temporary office. Hans didn’t follow her up; he waited for Mel downstairs.

Mel spends her morning checking the critical document, not long after someone knocks on the door. Slowly she lifts her head and sees at the door. She saw a slender woman with short blonde hair standing there.

Mel smiles at her before saying, "Amy, please come in." And she gave her a sign to sit on the sofa.

"Hi Boss, you look so stunning as usual."

Mel chuckled.

"Amy, Are you happy living here?" Mel asks while sitting opposite Amy.

Amy nodded. "J town is not bad, so far still interesting." She laughs.

"What Are you guys laughing at?" Suddenly, Hiro joined in. He sat beside Mel.

"Morning, Hiro," Amy said.

"Hiro, how’s the progress of digital banks?" Lately, Mel has not been updated about its progress.

"Everything is smooth, Boss. We have a soft launch, and so in less than a month, we got 10 million customers." Hiro said.

Mel’s eyes are wide open.

"So fast? Even though we just launched a soft launch a few weeks ago?"

Amy laughed when she saw Mel’s reaction. She explained to her... "Boss, did you know? We have a large network. We have one hundred million active users from our games. We offer many promotions for them if they open an account at Digital SoftBank (DSB)." Mel gasps. She forgot about that.

Amy adds, "Besides, did you forget that you are an investor in many startup companies?" Mel nodded. "Well, we also capitalized them," Amy laughed before continuing, "But Hiro is exaggerating a bit. Our customers have not reached ten million yet. But we confident we will achieve it later this year."

Mel glared at Hiro, but second, later, she praised them for working hard so that DSB can grow this fast.
