Chapter 725: Chapter 725: The Truth, What Is It Actually?

Yan Bo and the old Madame Yan left the house early the next day. When the baby boy woke up and couldn’t find anybody around, he thought his grandparents had gone on a long journey. It wasn’t until he saw the grandiose message left under his small cup by Yan Bo that he believed his grandparents had gone to play golf with friends.

Mr. and Mrs. Yan Bo, without prior notice, went straight to the dean’s office upon arrival at the welfare institute.

The dean was very surprised to see them, "Mr. Yan, Madame Yan, weren’t you abroad?"

"Um, we had to come back due to some emergencies."

Yan Bo responded casually, sat down with his wife. After the dean personally brought them tea and they took a sip, they asked.

"Dean, we’re here to inquire about a child’s situation."

The dean was even more astonished, "Huh, your grandson and daughter-in-law are back, right?"

It seemed that the dean had misunderstood, thinking that the couple came here intending to adopt a child.

"Dean, you have misunderstood, we do not intend to adopt, we just purely want to inquire about a child’s situation.’

Mr. and Mrs. Yan Bo had been supporting the children in the welfare institute, and more than half a year ago, when the baby boy had not yet been brought back, they did have the idea of adopting a child.

But now, of course, there was no such necessity.

Only then did the dean withdraw his surprise, "Who has made Mr. and Mrs. Yan so much concerned?"

...

Upon Mr. and Mrs. Yan Bo’s return to the seaside villa, it was lunchtime. The baby boy, who personally came to open the door, was overjoyed upon seeing his grandparents and embraced them cheerfully.

Sitting in the living room, Young Master Yan saw his son acting like a puppy, knowing that he must still be affected by Bai Xiaolu’s sudden departure, fearing that his loved ones would suddenly leave him without a word.

The servant served the meals, Mr. and Mrs. Yan Bo washed their face and then took their seats.

During the meal, the whole family chatted as if nothing had happened, and no one mentioned the matter at the welfare institute.

After lunch, the baby boy was watching TV with his elders in the living room. After a few minutes, he started yawning and extended his arms towards Young Master Yan, "Daddy, hug me..."

He implied he wanted to take his afternoon nap.

Young Master Yan picked up the little boy, who then blew a series of kisses to his grandparents and mommy, "Grandpa, grandma, mommy, good afternoon!"

Looking at the harmonious figure of her son holding her grandson, old Madame Yan sighed deeply.

"Before, we all thought that someone with Yan Han’s temperament wouldn’t be a good father even if he became one, surprisingly, he’s doing a much better job than you did, old Ye."

Zhu Qianying also followed the old couples’ gaze, seeing the Young Master Yan supporting the little boy’s bottom with one hand while gently rubbing his back with his other hand.

And the little boy’s head was already drooping lazily on his shoulder, indicating he had already begun to drowse off for his nap.

"Dad, Mom, you must have been very busy back then, right?"

In fact, Zhu Qianying didn’t know much about Young Master Yan’s childhood.

She only knew a few past events that Young Master Yan had mentioned.

And in old Madame Yan and Yan Bo’s account, Young Master Yan’s childhood is not frequently mentioned.

"Yes, it was a tumultuous phase for my maternal home back then, and over here, the Yanhuang Group was in the expansion phase. Plus, Yan Han’s paternal grandparents were eagerly wanting to spoil their grandson, so when he was just a few months old, they brought him back to the capital city. If we wanted to see him, we had to take a flight back. In fact, when Yan Han first started talking, he thought his uncle was his father!"

Zhu Qianying had never before heard Young Master Yan talk about this.

With old Madame Yan saying so, Zhu Qianying could understand why Yan Yuan had made a special point to speak with her that night when she was alone at old Ye’s house.

Perhaps, not only does Yan Han have a fatherly dependence on Yan Yuan, but Yan Yuan also treated Yan Han as if he was his own son.

"Xiao Hua, why do you have to bring up such a sad matter again?" Yan Bo gave Madame Yan a disapproving look, the normally good-tempered him, was surprisingly a little annoyed.

Zhu Qianying listened to the old couple bickering, occasionally chiming in, and during the ten or so minutes Yan Han was putting the little boy to sleep, she heard stories from his youth that he had never mentioned before.

When Yan Han came back to the living room after putting the baby boy to sleep, the old couple were still talking about some old matters from the past.

Yan Han sat down next to Zhu Qianying, "Dad, don’t you two dredge up harmful past memories to poison Ying’er!"

Old Madame Yan raised her hand and swore, "In all honesty, we truly did not!"

The four of them joked for a while before getting down to business.

"The dean mentioned that this child had never been adopted before. However, there was indeed a period of time when the child would sporadically not return to the welfare institute and when called, he would say he was staying with his uncle. However, the dean says that the kid’s parents died, he didn’t have relatives like an uncle, and that’s why he was sent to the welfare institute."

"So that means, the parents he referred to while talking to his classmates, could possibly be the person he claimed to be his uncle while at the welfare institute?" Yan Han made such an inference.

"It’s possible, the dean will talk to him tonight to see if it could lead to an answer."

Mr. and Mrs. Yan Bo didn’t explicitly tell the dean why they wanted to investigate this child, and the dean did not ask further.

At night, the baby boy said he wanted to sleep with his grandparents. So, after taking a bath, he promptly crawled into Old Madame Yan’s quilt.

Yan Bo, in the study, along with Yan Han and Zhu Qianying waited for the dean’s phone call.

It wasn’t until nearly ten o’clock that the dean called back.

"Mr. Yan, you guessed it right. Xiao Hai said he was scared that others would look down upon him for being an orphan and so, he lied about having new parents. However, he did say that the Uncle truly mentioned adopting him during the summer vacation."

Yan Bo had put the call on speaker, so both Yan Han and Zhu Qianying heard everything the dean said.

"Does he know the name or address of the uncle who wants to adopt him?" Yan Bo asked the exact question Zhu Qianying and Yan Han wanted answers to.

"He doesn’t know. He said that every time, it was his uncle who would pick him up from school, take him home, and send him back to school the next day." The dean’s response puzzled the three people in the study room.

"Alright, thank you!" After a few polite words, Yan Bo hung up the phone.

As soon as Yan Bo hung up the phone, Yan Han frowned.

"Don’t you find it strange?"

Zhu Qianying agreed, "It is indeed strange. If the uncle really wanted to adopt him, wouldn’t he first go to the welfare institute to know about the child’s situation? Moreover, it is suspicious that this child doesn’t even know the name or address of his uncle. Besides labeling him as foolish, the other possibility is that this uncle is deliberately getting closer to this child."

Mr. Yan Bo and Yan Han nodded, evidently, their thoughts aligned with Zhu Qianying’s.
