Chapter 181: Chapter 181: In Any Case, It’s Definitely Not a Disease
Although he didn’t want to be separated from his son, Yan Han eventually had to leave him at home to go to work at Yanhuang.
Of course, he wouldn’t mind bringing his baby boy to work. As the boss, he was free to bring whoever he wanted.
But when he asked the little boy during breakfast, "Baby boy, do you want to go to the company with Daddy? The place we went to yesterday!"
The little boy was spooning a mouthful of porridge, blowing on it with his small mouth. Hearing his father’s words, he didn’t even blink and simply said, "No!"
This definite response made Yan Han feel quite uneasy.
Now he firmly believed that this child must have been sent by heaven to punish him. Why else would he be so blunt with his words, refusing to add some warmth or leave any room for negotiation?
Yan Han, at that moment, forgot that he used to treat Zhu Qianying the same way in the past.
Baby boy didn’t necessarily know the details of how his father had treated his mother in the past. But all children have sensitive hearts, especially intelligent children like him. He had already associated a myriad of versions regarding his parent’s past.
Although the events in these versions were different, the focal point and the core message were all the same.
That was, his father, was a scum, a bastard!
If that wasn’t the case, how could he possibly neglect such a beautiful mommy and such a smart and cute son?
The Eldest Young Master Yan was oblivious to the fact that his son’s little mind could have concocted such stories to belittle and defame him.
He assumed it was because the little one thought the workplace was dull. Even though he felt disappointed, he still reached out and ruffled the boy’s hair.
"Okay, if you don’t want to go, then don’t. You can stay at home and play, or Uncle Hai can take you out. Daddy will be back early to keep you company."
The little boy merely accepted his promise of returning early with indifference. Lowering his long eyelashes, he was sending the porridge, which had been cooling off in his wide-open mouth, into his mouth.
Yan Han was reluctant to leave his son as he walked out the door. It was probably even harder for him to leave than lovers who were parting ways in the heat of their relationship.
But the little boy seemed nonchalant. After having breakfast, he tugged at his Uncle Hai, asking him to take him to see the big goldfish.
The reason being that while he was making cookies, he heard Uncle Hai mention that there was an artificial lake on the other side of the grove, which housed a lot of big and small goldfish.
Being active and curious are children’s natural instincts, and the baby boy was no exception.
However, he harbored a lot of prejudices and resistance towards Yan Han, his father. Thus, around Yan Han, he mostly showed an unsmiling and indifferent expression.
But when it came to Uncle Hai, he was consistently friendly and close.
Yan Han had seen his son’s changing expressions that morning. For instance, he’d be chattering with Uncle Hai one moment, then close lips and stare at him silently the next.
For all this, Yan Han could only laugh bitterly in secret and quietly sigh a word in his heart, Karma!
Several times, the Eldest Young Master Yan even wanted to tell his son, "Son, you can treat your father however you want, there’s no need to put on such a stiff act!"
Yet, in less than a day, the Eldest Young Master Yan had completely become his son’s servant. But he himself was blissfully unaware and naturally didn’t find anything amiss with the situation.
He dragged his feet, took his time changing clothes and packing up, ready to leave the house. He did all this in order to spend more time with his son.
But the little boy didn’t seem to miss him at all. He casually waved his hand to say goodbye, while with the other hand, he was pulling Uncle Hai’s arm, sweetly saying, "Uncle Hai, let’s go! Baby boy wants to see the big goldfish!"
At this time, he was just a typical four-year-old boy.
Yan Han, who wanted to spend more time with his son, was forced to get in the car and leave. Even as the car door closed, his gaze was still fixed on his son who was holding Uncle Hai’s hand, striding towards the artificial lake.
Yan Han didn’t know whether this symptom of being reluctant to part with his son was common among all parents or was it unique to him.
Was it because of his excessive guilt towards his son that he was so unwilling to part, or was he naturally a doting father?
In any case, no matter the reason, he thought it was irrelevant. After all, baby boy was his son. It was nothing excessive or abnormal for him, Yan Han, to shower him with love and affection, wasn’t it?
Simply put, it was definitely not a disease.
Yan Han, wearing concern and reluctance, departed for work; and the little boy, in the company of Uncle Hai, hopped and jumped around, as happy as a little monkey.
"Uncle Hai, come look, it’s a butterfly!"
L City was located in the south, where the temperature remained relatively warm even in the winter. Plus, the Yan Family’s garden was home to all kinds of strange and exotic flowers that bloomed throughout the year, so it wasn’t a surprise that butterflies appeared this time of the year.
"Do you like it, baby boy? Uncle Hai will have someone catch it and bring it to you!" said Uncle Hai, already reaching for his phone.
Clearly, Uncle Hai’s affection for this seemingly strayed-from-the-heavens young master was no less than that of Yan Han, the biological father.
If the young master said he liked it, he would naturally try to get it for him.
Baby boy was originally tiptoeing towards the flower the butterfly had landed on. Hearing what Uncle Hai said, he immediately straightened up and stopped Uncle Hai with a nervous expression.
"Uncle Hai, don’t catch it! Mommy said, butterflies are only beautiful when they fly!"
Uncle Hai’s hand stopped in mid-air, puzzled for a moment, then slowly put the phone away.
"Uncle Hai, I just want to look at it!" The little boy explained to Uncle Hai. Then, he tiptoed towards the cluster of flowers again.
Uncle Hai was initially worried. Most of the people in the house were middle-aged and elderly people, with no toys suitable for children to play with. He was afraid that the little master would be bored.
As it turned out, to a child full of curiosity, everything was an interesting toy.
Accompanied by Uncle Hai, the little boy looked around carefully, never once closing his mouth.
Soon, Uncle Hai discovered that the little young master was particularly attentive towards things that interested him.
The little boy first squatted down to watch a butterfly in the flower bed for a long time, walked a short distance further, then squatted under a big tree to observe ants moving house. When all the ants had gone back into the tree hole, his attention was captivated by a strange-looking flower which even Uncle Hai couldn’t name.
By the time he arrived at the lake and finished feeding the goldfish, time had unknowingly slipped away that morning.
"Young master, are you hungry? Let’s go back home and have lunch!" Worried that the young master might be hungry, Uncle Hai noticed that it was almost lunch time and reminded the little boy to return to the house.
The little boy always displayed a proud and aloof attitude around Yan Han, but in front of Uncle Hai, he was sensible and obedient.
He obediently placed his little hand in Uncle Hai’s and took the same path they’d come from to return to the mansion.
Upon entering the house, the little boy’s first move was to dash off to the restroom. As such, he didn’t notice that there was a woman sitting on the couch in the living room.
