Cucking The Demon King
Chapter 80: The might of Dark Tendrils

Chapter 80: The might of Dark Tendrils

He instinctively jumped backwards, in a bid to escape the claws.

But just when he thought he had dodged them—

The creature’s thorned limb suddenly extended!

Liam’s eyes widened.

"Shit!"

He jerked sideways, narrowly avoiding the beast’s claws as they whipped past him, missing by mere inches.

The claws struck the ground, leaving behind deep gashes in the stone floor.

Liam felt sweat roll down his back at the sight of those razor sharp tip, gleaming with a faint, eerie light.

’That... was close.’ He thought, letting out a low sigh.

These creatures were strong and worst of all, their attacks were quite unpredictable.

The realization settled in as he quickly regained his stance.

Before he could even launch an attack of his own, another golem was already upon him.

It moved faster than he expected—almost as if it had been waiting for him to dodge.

With a deep, rumbling growl, the creature swung its massive arm at him in a brutal arc.

Liam barely had time to react.

But—

His eyes flashed with a cold glint.

’They’re pretty strong, but... their strength is no match for mine!’ He thought, a smirk forming on his lips. ’Strength Boost!’

An explosive surge of power rushed through his muscles.

As the golem’s massive fist came crashing down—

Liam caught it.

BOOM!

A deep tremor shook the ground as his palm met the attack head-on.

For a moment, everything was still.

The golem’s massive form loomed over him, its weight pressing down. Its long, jagged claws trembled against his grip. But no matter how much force it exerted—

It couldn’t move him.

The sheer disparity in strength was clear.

Liam’s lips curled.

He had won the moment he grabbed it.

With an effortless twist—

BANG!

Liam swung the creature sideways, using its own momentum against it.

The massive golem—easily over two meters tall—was flung through the air like a ragdoll.

CRASH!

It slammed into another charging golem, the impact sending both of them tumbling across the floor in a heap of tangled thorns and dark smoke.

Liam landed lightly on his feet, his expression calm, but his eyes sharp.

’Not bad,’ He thought. ’But let’s see what I’m dealing with.’

’Eye of Truth.’

’Golems, huh?’ Liam clicked his tongue. ’That explains why they’re so durable.’

A constitution of three hundred... that was rather insane for a summoned creature. These things weren’t just for show.

His original plan had been to gather information without resorting to violence. But now...

That wasn’t an option anymore.

His gaze shifted to Eva, who stood a few meters away.

Their eyes met—and for a moment, the battlefield fell silent.

A cold chill ran down Eva’s spine.

She felt that same overwhelming pressure pressing down on her body again.

But—

She clenched her fists, gritting her teeth.

’He’s just a fake,’ She told herself, forcibly suppressing her fear.

She had nothing to fear.

This wasn’t a real high rank demon.

And she would prove it.

"Attack!"

Eva thrust her hand forward.

The five golems immediately charged, moving in perfect synchronization.

Even the one Liam had thrown aside rose back up, its limbs twisting unnaturally as it rushed forward with newfound vigor.

Eva’s eyes burned with determination.

She had to end this here.

Liam was dangerous.

Even though he wasn’t attacking her yet—

She could feel it.

His presence alone made her skin crawl.

She had to strike before he had the chance to retaliate.

Liam let out a small breath.

And then—

His lips curled.

’Dash!’ He thought.

[+100 Points temporarily allocated to Agility!]

A shockwave burst from under Liam’s feet as his speed skyrocketed.

He vanished—

And then reappeared several meters away.

The golems lurched forward, but Liam was already moving.

’Tendrils of Darkness.’ He thought, chuckling to himself.

With the activation of Dash, the golems were far too slow to even see him talk-less of touch him.

However, since he knew about their high resistance to magical attacks like fireball, he had to think of a different method to fight them.

FWOOOSH!

The air around him distorted as thick, black wisps began to form.

They coiled around his arms, merging and solidifying into long, thin tendrils.

The tendrils twisted around him like living snakes, writhing and pulsing with a faint glow.

Eva’s breath caught.

Her mind raced as she staggered back.

What kind of blessing is that?!

She instantly recognized the dark wisps.

That was the power of darkness.

A heretical blessing... similar to her.

But—

Hadn’t he just used fire magic moments ago?

That wasn’t possible.

A person could only have one blessing.

So how...?

She felt her chest tighten.

A dangerous thought crept into her mind.

Was Liam even human?

The way he fought... the power he displayed... it wasn’t normal.

And the way he looked at her now—

That was not the gaze of an ordinary man.

It was the gaze of a monster.

Her hands trembled.

For the first time—

She felt genuine fear.

But she quickly shook it off.

’No. It doesn’t matter...’ She mumbled inwardly, her face squeezing into a frown.

She couldn’t back down now.

No matter how strong he was—

She had to stop him.

"Go!"

The golems lunged forward.

Liam smirked.

Though the turn of events were a bit unexpected, he was still glad things turned out this way.

He was starting to get bored of just using his skills in his room, but now, he finally had puppets to test them on!

’This is... the best!’ He thought, stretching a hand at the approaching golems.

Five tendrils immediately shot out, moving through the air at terrifying speed.

SHINK!

The black tendrils pierced through the golems’ chests effortlessly, jutting out from their backs.

Tiny tendrils rapidly extended from them, wriggling as they spread through the golems bodies from inside out.

Before long, they were all covered in what seemed like tiny black threads, which tightly cling unto them.

"N-no..." Eva mumbled, her eyes widening in horror.

Suddenly, she felt a sharp metallic taste in her throat, and blood sprayed from her mouth, splattering across the floor.

’What...?’ She thought, her face squeezing into a frown.

She then lost strength in her legs, falling on her knees.

"Ugh..." She grunted, feeling dizzy all of a sudden.

’Why do I... feel so weak?’ She thought, slowly standing on her feet.

Her legs kept wobbling even as she stood, and her vision was starting to turn blurry.

Though destroying the golems would greatly reduce her mana, there was no way it would affect her physically.

The worst she should feel is an headache, or get lightheaded depending on how much mana she lost.

’Unless...’ She mumbled inwardly, turning her gaze back to Liam.

The golems were still trapped in his tendrils, and she could feel her connection to them rapidly thinning.

Liam slowly retracted the black tendrils back into his arm, flashing a smug smirk at her.

One by one, the golems dropped to the ground, crumbling in a pile of thorn and smoke.

The pieces of thorns scattered across the ground rapidly dissolved into smoke, before vanishing into thin air.

Eva felt her breath hitch.

She took an instinctive step back, but then she stumbled back on her knees.

"Ugh..." She grunted, blood spraying out of her mouth once again.

’Those tendrils weren’t just for show... they were rapidly sucking my mana!’ She thought, gnashing her teeth in annoyance.

She had heard a few times about darkness being able to absorb mana simply by touch, or even worse, tamper with someone’s soul.

But this was the first time she was witnessing it in action, and it really terrified her.

If she had any doubts before whether Liam was a demon or not, she fully believed it now.

Though she still didn’t understand how he was able to use fire magic along with darkness, she didn’t dare question it anymore.

Meanwhile, Liam’s eyes scanned the area where those golems just vanished, and a strange glint flashed through his eyes.

’Tendrils of darkness...’ He thought, staring at his palm.

A few dark tendrils slowly rose up from his palm, crawling towards his fingers, before retracting back into his hand.

’What an awesome skill.’ He thought, clenching his fist.

[+200 Energy points]

A notification flashed across his eyes, and his lips curled up slightly.

Though he lost some of his energy when he casted dark tendrils, they were quickly recovered by the mana he absorbed from Eva.

And then—

Liam moved.

He vanished.

And in the next instant—

He was right in front of her.

Her heart stopped.

His hand shot out—

And grabbed her throat.

Eva gasped.

She clawed at his arm, but his grip tightened.

Liam leaned in, his red eyes glowing.

His voice was calm.

"Now... let’s try this again."

A slow smirk formed on his lips.

"What exactly are you doing here, Eva?"
