Cucking The Demon King
Chapter 73: Emerald

Chapter 73: Emerald

Liam nodded his head in satisfaction as he reviewed his gains. He had spent all his lust points, but it was worth it. The stat boosts alone made him significantly stronger, and the two new skills intrigued him.

Curious about his overall improvement, he called up his status window.

Seeing the improvement in his stats, Liam smiled to himself. He was getting stronger, and that was all that mattered.

However, his smile turned wry when his gaze landed on his lust points: 0.

He exhaled, shaking his head. It was a necessary expense. This was the first time he had spent this many lust points at once, having used over ten spins—including a legendary spin. The results spoke for themselves.

He then focused on his new skills, particularly the two at the bottom.

[Lightning Glove (Level 1)]

[Summon a thick, compact glove purely made up of lightning.]

[Lightning Boots (Level 1)]

[Summon thick boots of lightning over your feet, giving the host a tremendous boost in speed.]

Liam nodded again, satisfied. The descriptions were basic, but he could already tell these skills would be useful. And if they were this strong at level one, he could only imagine how powerful they would become once upgraded.

He clenched his fists and stretched his fingers, excitement buzzing in his veins. He was ready—ready for whatever this mission had in store for him.

The mission was set to begin in three days, and the church had instructed them to prepare during that time.

Three Days Later...

Liam stood in a vast, open field alongside the other nine members of his team.

Emma was to his right, Elsa to his left.

The two girls kept glancing at each other, neither willing to back down.

Liam could feel the tension thick in the air, pressing against him. Sweat dripped down his temple as he found himself caught between two opposing forces.

Neither of them spoke, but the atmosphere was heavy.

At least their divine mark didn’t affect their feelings for him, which was a relief.

Tenny soon arrived before them, his warm smile unchanged.

With a serene expression, he raised his hands and began a prayer, blessing them as they prepared to embark on their mission.

His words flowed smoothly, full of reverence for the goddess.

"...and so, remember always not to sin against her grace. She is merciful, but her mercy is not without end. Those who stray from her path will be lost in the darkness, forsaken and forgotten..."

Liam’s mind drifted as the priest continued his sermon.

How long was he going to keep this up?

He barely resisted the urge to yawn, tuning out most of the speech.

Instead, he subtly scanned his group, taking note of everyone present.

There were three boys in total: himself, Rex, and the scrawny brown-haired boy he had encountered before—Mike.

Rex stood at the far end of the group, deliberately avoiding Liam’s gaze.

Liam smirked, amused.

Then there were the seven girls: Emma, Elsa, Grace, and Lela.

The other three were unfamiliar to him. He had seen them in class before, but never spoken to them.

Still, he had a feeling things wouldn’t be too boring.

His eyes glinted with a strange light.

Just then, the priest’s voice cut through the air again.

"You will not be entering the village alone."

Liam’s attention snapped back to him.

"A knight will accompany you," Tenny continued, "to oversee your actions and ensure you uphold the goddess’s will. They will judge your performance and determine your worthiness."

Liam raised an eyebrow.

A knight?

Before he could think further, the sound of approaching hooves filled the air.

The ground trembled slightly as a horse galloped toward them.

And then, in the blink of an eye, a figure appeared before them.

The knight dismounted gracefully, her armor gleaming under the sunlight.

She removed her helmet, revealing long, black hair that cascaded down her back.

Her piercing blue eyes swept over them, filled with quiet authority.

The knight’s face was stern, and despite being a woman, there was a strange aura around her which sent chills down whoever saw her.

The other students subconsciously moved backwards when their gaze met theirs, their back drenched in sweat.

The only ones who didn’t seem affected were Liam and Emma, however, a bead of sweat could still be seen rolling down the face of the latter.

Liam’s gaze lingered on her face.

Without needing anyone to tell him, he could tell... this knight was strong.

However, she wasn’t stronger than him.

Just then, the woman also turned her gaze to him.

The moment their eyes met, she spoke.

"I will be the one overseeing your mission."

Her voice was steady, unwavering.

"I will not tolerate failure. Disobey my orders, and you will suffer the consequences."

A smirk tugged at Liam’s lips.

"My name is Emerald," she stated, her tone calm yet commanding. "I am a five-star holy knight, and I will be guiding you on this mission."

A five-star knight.

The moment she said those words, a heavy silence fell over the students.

Even though most of them had no idea what it truly meant to be a five-star knight, the weight of her title alone was enough to send a chill down their spines.

The ranking system of the holy knights was both simple and complex at the same time.

At the lowest level were the "star knights," ranked from one-star to five-star depending on their achievements.

Above them were the captains, who commanded squads of knights.

Then came the commanders, powerful individuals who led entire divisions.

And at the very top, standing above all knights, was the Knight King—the single strongest knight in the entire order.

Emerald was already at the peak of the star knights, just one step away from becoming a captain.

Her introduction was short and simple, yet it carried immense weight.

Even though she hadn’t raised her voice or exuded any visible killing intent, the students could feel the sheer pressure she radiated.

Liam remained calm, but he could see the way the others stiffened.

Elsa’s fingers twitched slightly, while Emma swallowed, her usual playful demeanor absent.

Mike, the scrawny brown-haired boy, shifted on his feet, clearly uncomfortable.

Even Rex, who always tried to act tough, kept his gaze down, refusing to meet Emerald’s eyes.

Meanwhile, standing behind them, Tenny smirked to himself.

He was enjoying this.

This was exactly why Emerald had been chosen for this mission.

The students didn’t realize it yet, but the woman standing before them had a terrifying reputation within the kingdom.

Among the holy knights, she was feared and respected in equal measure.

She had led numerous purging missions, eliminating heretics and demons without hesitation.

And unlike most knights, who simply followed orders, Emerald was one of the most devoted knights Tenny had ever known.

Her loyalty to the goddess was absolute.

That was why she would soon be promoted to captain.

She was practically the perfect choice for this mission.

"Now then," Emerald continued, her voice sharp. "Let me make one thing clear."

Her gaze swept over the students again.

"This is not a game. This is not a practice exercise. This is a real mission, and failure will not be tolerated."

Her words sent another chill down the students’ spines.

Liam, however, simply continued smirking.

He had a feeling this mission was going to be interesting.

Liam’s gaze remained fixed on Emerald as she spoke, his smirk deepening.

Though her face was cold and expressionless, it did nothing to hide her beauty.

Her sharp features gave her a regal, almost untouchable air, but her violet eyes burned with intensity, hinting at the fierce will beneath her icy exterior.

However, what truly caught Liam’s attention was her body.

Even with the heavy armor she wore, it was impossible to fully hide her alluring curves.

Her chestplate, though perfectly fitted, still failed to completely obscure the shape of her ample bosom.

Her waist was trim and toned, accentuating the way her armor clung to her frame, while her long legs—only partially covered by the plated armor—hinted at incredible strength and agility.

Liam’s eyes gleamed with interest.

Now this... this is quite the sight.

For a moment, he wondered what lay beneath that rigid armor, but he quickly shoved the thought aside, amused by his own wandering mind.

Now wasn’t the time for that.

Emerald had a powerful aura, but more than that, she intrigued him.

He had seen many women before—some beautiful, some powerful—but it was rare to see both traits so perfectly combined in one person.

Even Emma and Elsa, as attractive as they were, lacked the unyielding presence this knight possessed.

She was like a war goddess, cold and unshakable.

And Liam liked a challenge.
