Cucking The Demon King -
Chapter 63: Confession chamber
Chapter 63: Confession chamber
"Mercy..." He mumbled, tears slowly dripping down his cheeks.
Liam cringed at the sight, clicking his tongue.
The holy church was just as he remembered—a building filled with nothing but dumb fanatics.
To him, the holy church was like a poorly written religious organisation in a novel, which made it even dumber because this was meant to be real life!
’Or was it?’ He thought, a strange thought suddenly popping up in his mind.
However, he quickly brushed it off.
Meanwhile, his other classmates looked at the man with reverence.
They clutched the pendant on their chests, some of them even tearing up.
"Mercy..." They repeated along with him, their bodies shivering.
’What the fuck?’ Liam thought, looking at the boy standing beside him, who was also tearing up.
His hands were shivering as he clutched the pendant, tears streaming down his face.
Shifting his gaze to the side, his eyes met with that of a beautiful blue haired girl.
The other students made sure to maintain a good distance from her, except from her two friends who stood by her side.
Upon meeting Liam’s gaze, her body shivered slightly, and her lips slowly curled into a smile.
Her friends on the other hand, quickly averted their gazes away, fiddling with the pendant on their chest.
Compared to the rest of the students, she and her friends still acted quite normally.
At least, they didn’t seem that much engrossed in the stupidity and fanaticism hanging in the air.
’I can’t find Emma though... Rex too.’ Liam thought, his eyes narrowing.
All the other nobles were present, except from the Silvagolds.
’That’s strange...’ He mumbled inwardly, turning his attention back to the priest at the front.
The man was still going on about the goddess’ mercy, love and how much her forgiveness was needed to be cleansed of sin.
After a few minutes, another priest emerged from behind him, his expression warm with a slight smile on his face.
The priest stood tall in his flowing white and gold gown, his short blonde hair and pitch black eyes only adding more to his charisma.
As soon as he appeared, the other priest slightly bowed his head, before going back into the church.
The man then took a step forward, stretching his arms out to the students.
"The day you’ve all been waiting for is already at hand... the day when you will finally get the chance to carry out the mission granted to us by the goddess herself." His voice echoed throughout the hall, carrying a sense of authority, reverence and lastly, unwavering faith.
His voice was calm yet powerful, each word dripping with conviction. The students before him remained silent, hanging onto his every syllable as though he were the goddess incarnate.
They all recognised the man, who was none other than Gra Longith, one of the head priests in the church, and also a highly respected figure within the kingdom of Lumeria.
"The demons... vile, wretched creatures of corruption. They taint our world with their presence, feeding on sin and reveling in destruction. But you... you are the chosen ones, the blessed warriors who shall purge them from this sacred land."
Liam almost scoffed aloud.
’Blessed warriors?’ He thought, looking around at his so-called comrades.
Some were still sniffling, clutching their pendants like lifelines. If this was what the church considered warriors, then the demons had nothing to fear.
Still, he dared not speak against the priest, and simply listened attentively.
The title head priest was nothing to scoff at, as it only came third after the positions of supreme priest and high priest.
The supreme priest stood at the highest level of authority within the kingdom, second only to the knight king.
The head priests on the other hand, were the ones who managed the church and the affairs, and reported them directly to the high priest.
From what he heard, the high priest in this church was quite busy, so the head priest would be the one attending to them instead.
"Before you may take up arms in this holy crusade," The priest continued, raising his hand, "You must first be cleansed. To wield the goddess’ strength, one must be pure of heart, free of sin."
’Here we go...’ Liam thought, his eyes narrowing slightly.
"Each of you will be assigned a priest of the church, a representative of the goddess’ spirit. In the Holy Room, you shall confess your sins and seek her divine forgiveness. Only once you are cleansed will you be deemed worthy to receive your mission."
The priest’s black eyes swept over the crowd, his gaze filled with judgment as though he could already see the sins staining their souls.
His eyes suddenly settled on Liam, and a strange glint flashed through his eyes.
’So that’s him, the one without a blessing.’ He thought, letting out a low sigh.
Behind him, several priests and nuns emerged from the grand archway leading deeper into the church. They were dressed in the traditional white and gold robes, their expressions serene, their movements graceful.
Liam’s classmates murmured amongst themselves, some looking anxious, others looking determined.
Liam, on the other hand, just sighed.
’More church nonsense.’ He thought to himself.
Nonetheless, he had no other choice than to play along.
The students were soon divided and paired with their designated priests. Some were led through different hallways, disappearing behind heavy wooden doors that likely led to the so-called Holy Rooms.
Liam was among the last to be called, and when his name was finally spoken, he barely glanced at the priest assigning them.
"You shall be guided by Sister Evelyn."
Sister?
Liam turned his gaze, and the moment he laid eyes on her, his breath hitched slightly.
The woman standing before him was not what he expected.
She was stunning. Breathtaking, even.
Sister Evelyn had long, silky black hair that cascaded down her back like flowing ink, framing her delicate yet alluring face. Her eyes were a shade of deep violet, sharp yet mysterious, like amethysts glistening under candlelight. Her lips were full and soft, painted a light shade of pink, complementing her fair, flawless skin.
And her figure—
Goddess...
The nun’s white and gold robes, though modest, couldn’t fully conceal the curves beneath.
She had an ample chest, a slender waist, and wide hips that swayed subtly with every step she took.
The golden sash tied around her waist accentuated her hourglass figure, and as she moved, Liam couldn’t help but notice the way the fabric hugged her body in all the right places.
’This was a nun? A church representative?’ He wondered, his eyes shining in awe.
Liam didn’t believe in gods, but for a moment, he almost considered thanking one.
"Follow me," Sister Evelyn said softly, her voice smooth and almost hypnotic.
Liam obeyed without question.
They walked through the dimly lit hallways of the church, the scent of incense lingering in the air. The Holy Room wasn’t far, and when they finally reached it, Sister Evelyn pushed open the heavy wooden door and stepped inside.
Liam followed, his gaze flickering around the space.
The room was simple, yet elegant.
Golden candlesticks lined the stone walls, their flames casting a soft, flickering glow.
A red velvet carpet stretched across the floor, leading to a single wooden chair placed before an altar adorned with white and gold cloth.
A large symbol of the goddess was carved into the stone wall behind it, radiating an air of supposed divinity.
’A confession chamber, huh?’ He thought.
"Please, take a seat." Sister Evelyn gestured to the chair.
Liam sat down, leaning back slightly as he observed the nun.
She stood before him, hands gently clasped together, her violet eyes gazing into his with an unreadable expression.
"You may begin," she said. "Confess your sins, and the goddess shall grant you her mercy."
Liam stared at her.
For a brief moment, he almost laughed.
His sins?
If he were to truly confess, they’d probably try to burn him at the stake.
He was a liar. A deceiver. A manipulator.
And, if given the chance, he’d absolutely defile this so-called holy woman standing before him.
His lips curled into a smirk.
"I’m not sure where to start," He said, tilting his head slightly. "I have a lot of sins, you see."
Sister Evelyn didn’t react.
"The goddess forgives all who seek repentance," She said.
Liam chuckled. "That so?"
A moment of silence passed between them. The candle flames flickered, casting elongated shadows along the walls.
Sister Evelyn took a step closer.
"Tell me, Liam," she said softly, "Do you seek forgiveness?"
He didn’t answer immediately.
Instead, his gaze slowly roamed over her once more.
The curve of her lips.
The shape of her body beneath that modest gown.
The way her chest subtly rose and fell with each slow, patient breath.
A desire flickered in his eyes.
Forgiveness?
No.
But there was something else he wanted from this nun.
And it wasn’t absolution.
