Cucking The Demon King -
Chapter 35: Toe to Toe with the instructor!
Chapter 35: Toe to Toe with the instructor!
—"Did I hear right? Did instructor Kurt just say he’ll fight him!"
—"Yeah... I think we all heard the same thing..."
—"Isn’t that... a bit unfair?"
Murmurs soon started rising among the students, in disbelief about what the man just said.
Though they had just watched Liam take down an opponent without even landing an attack, most of them believed he had only gotten lucky.
To them, Petras was just a fat, cowardly pig, so they felt that even someone like Liam should be able to easily best him in speed.
Meanwhile, Rex ignored the murmurs going on around him, focusing only on the figure of Liam who stood in the distance.
His face was squeezed into a frown, and he kept gnashing his teeth.
Unlike the others, he had already gotten a taste of how terrifying Liam’s strength was, and even now, he could still feel a tingle in his hand, which Liam had smashed with his foot.
He could still remember how powerless he was before the white haired student, his face having being smashed in many times.
If all that happened was Liam beating him to a pulp, then he might feel a little better.
But unfortunately for him, he did it in front of a small crowd of students, completely embarrassing him.
The news quickly spread all over the academy, especially the part where Liam slammed his head into the ground.
However, most of those who heard the story refused the believe him, feeling that such a thing could never happen.
The image of Liam, the weakest student in the academy, easily taking down Rex Silvagold, just seemed to impossible to be true, so their mind rejected it.
While Rex wasn’t one of the most powerful in his class, he wasn’t so weak that his anyone, especially someone without a blessing could defeat.
But still, a good number of students believed the story, wishing they had been there to watch it unfold themselves.
After all his tyranny in the academy, Rex surely was one of the nobles hated the most but students.
But since they couldn’t do anything against him, they simply let him be, complying with every of his demands.
Even now, many of them kept glancing at the red haired teenager, wondering whether all of it was actually true.
Nonetheless, they couldn’t say their true thoughts, scared they might offend the young noble.
’Liam...’ Rex clenched his fists, feeling the many piercing gazes all around his body.
Without needing any one to tell him, he already knew why he was receiving so much attention.
Apart from that, the words Liam said to him kept resounding over and over in his head.
"For making my life hell... I’m going to take everything valuable to you."
"Starting from your cute sister over there..."
He knew he wasn’t supposed to worry about them too much, as they were nothing more than empty words... or were they?
Remembering those words, his gaze subconsciously shifted to the sister, who had no idea about what was going on in his mind.
Her gaze remained locked on Liam, the sides of her cheeks slightly rosy for some reason.
He heard her mutter something, but he couldn’t catch on to what she said.
Meanwhile, in the centre of the training ground, Liam simply stared off into space, almost as if he didn’t hear the man at all.
Kurt’s eyes narrowed at this, but he didn’t say anything, only stepping closer to the young man.
Unbeknownst to him and the other students, what Liam was absorbed in was the holographic screen floating before his eyes, which appeared immediately after the instructor challenged him.
[New Quest!]
—Defeat Kurt Yell and win the duel
—Rewards: 30000EXP
’30000EXP?!’ He thought, his eyes shining with excitement.
His gaze suddenly snapped back to the man before him, and his lips curled into a slight smirk.
"Fine, I accept." He muttered, gripping the handles of his blades firmly.
Kurt easily noticed his sudden change in countenance, and a slight frown briefly appeared on his face.
"To make this a bit more fair, I won’t be using my spear, but this pole." He said, pointing a long, wooden pole towards Liam.
The pole was a lot shorter than his usual spear, but it was still a bit taller than him.
’When... did he change his weapon?’ Liam wondered, his eyes widening slightly.
Nonetheless, he didn’t think much about it, feeling it was while he was busy with the system.
’Whatever, eye of truth!’ He thought, activating his skill.

Liam’s eyes speedily scanned through the long list of information in front of him, noting everything detail.
’This skill... really shows everything!’ He thought, his eyes shining in excitement.
From the information displayed in front of him, he could tell Kurt was quite powerful.
There were five mastery levels, which signified how much power and skill one could exhibit with their blessings.
The levels were Beginner, Practitioner, Master, Grandmaster, and lastly, saint.
Kurt was already a master-level, which was the third highest level, and also the level required to become an instructor in the academy.
That alone spoke volumes about his strength, and also how well he had mastered his blessing.
’Going by this, I guess I could say I’m stronger than a master-level!’ Liam thought, suddenly dashing towards the man, with his blades held firmly at his sides.
’Fast!’ Kurt thought, his eyes widening slightly in surprise.
In what seemed like an instant, Liam reached him, swinging a blade right at his chest.
However, the instructor quickly swung the pole in his hand, meeting the strike mid-air.
Clank!
The sound of the blade colliding with the pole rung the field, the two of them seemingly in a stalemate.
Kurt’s face squeezed into a frown, feeling the bones in his hand tremble just from blocking Liam’s attack.
’Just how strong... is this kid?!’ He thought, skilfully deflecting Liam’s blade to the side.
The sudden deflection caused Liam to stumble a bit, and Kurt didn’t waste any time, crouching slightly before swinging the pole at the feet, aiming to sweep him off his feet.
But then, Liam suddenly leapt up, his eyes still shining with excitement as he unleashed a swift slash towards Kurt’s neck.
To his surprise, the man bent his short body unnaturally to the side, and the sword sliced through empty air, completely missing him.
He then quickly spun the pole behind him, skilfully passing it to his other hand, swinging it straight at Liam’s neck.
’He’s has skill for sure, but then... I can follow his movements!’ He thought, deflecting the pole with one sword, and then swiftly thrusting the other at Kurt’s shoulder.
Kurt’s eyes widened slightly, seeing another attack already heading for him.
’He’s fast... too fast!’ He thought, gritting his teeth as he stepped backwards, shifting his shoulder slightly.
Once again, the blade hit empty air, merely a few centimetres from stabbing his shoulder.
Nonetheless, Liam didn’t let up on his attacks.
His original aim for the stab hadn’t actually been to pierce Kurt, but to get him to move back, so he could press on even more on his attacks.
’Remember, your training!’ He thought, his eyes gleaming with a deadly glint as he lunged at Kurt.
Planting his feet on the ground, he bent his upper body, with his head around Kurt’s chest.
The sword in his left hand hung low, its blade almost scraping the ground, while the one in his right was raised up, heading straight for Kurt’s forehead.
Like this, he felt like there was no way for the instructor to hit him with his pole, at least not before he landed his own attack.
Liam’s assumption would have been correct, at least it would have been, if his opponent wasn’t so advanced in martial arts like Kurt.
The man quickly planted the butt of the pole to the ground, climbing above it with inhumane skill, and then landing right behind Liam.
’What?!’ Liam thought, his eyes widening in shock.
He thought he had already blocked all paths of escape for the instructor, but it was clear that there was one he failed to block... and that was above him!
However, he couldn’t ponder too much on the thought, as he could already hear the sound of Kurt’s pole slicing through the air, aiming for his wide open back.
’Damn it...’ He seethed, swinging his sword up, successfully deflecting the man’s attack.
’I’m a bit stronger... faster than he is!’ He thought, twisting his upper body, before delivering another quick thrust towards Kurt’s forehead.
But once again, the man made a quick sidestep, and the strike hit empty air.
’So how come, he can still keep up with me?!’ Liam thought, his eyes narrowing in annoyance.
To be honest, he hadn’t gone all out yet, still reserving his ability skills such as Dash and Strength boost which could instantly turn the fight in his favour.
However, he wanted to win... to win without any boost from his skills.
For some reason, he felt that if he activated boost skills against someone with lower stats than him, he would end up being the loser... even if he won the fight.
Meanwhile, the other students kept on watching with their mouths agape, as Liam went toe to toe with the instructor!
