Cucking The Demon King
Chapter 134: Touch her again

Chapter 134: Touch her again

Surrounded.

The one holding him leaned slightly forward. Though Rex couldn’t see a face, he felt the weight of its stare.

"Light..." the figure said quietly, almost thoughtfully. "He uses light..."

There was something about the way he said it—contempt, maybe. Or hunger.

"You will be useful."

"I—I don’t even know who you people are!" Rex shouted, tears of panic in his eyes. "What do you want from me?!"

The first figure stepped forward again.

"We will see," he said softly, and Rex felt the shadow gripping him begin to burn—not with heat, but with a suffocating pressure that wrapped around his mana, making it flicker and twist inside his body.

It was like they were probing him. Touching his very soul.

He screamed again, writhing, as the darkness tried to creep past the gloves of light around his hands. But it was no use. He couldn’t break free.

The cloaked figures said nothing more.

They simply began to walk, and the shadow holding him dragged him along behind them.

His mind was spinning, his vision blurring.

’Who... what are they...?’ Those were the last thoughts that crossed his mind, before he finally lost consciousness.

***

The air was fresh. Birds chirped lazily in the distance, and the thick canopy of the forest above cast a speckled dance of sunlight over the moss-covered path below.

The trees stood tall and ancient, their gnarled roots breaking through the ground like the veins of the forest itself.

Jaegel and Liam walked quietly beneath them, the former trailing a few paces behind.

Each step the heretic took was measured, cautious, as though any moment might be his last.

His body trembled slightly, and every time Liam’s bright red eyes glanced back at him, Jaegel shivered like a dog in the snow.

The silence between them was thick, broken only by the occasional rustle of leaves or the caw of a distant crow.

But even those natural sounds seemed to hush themselves whenever Liam’s gaze swept through the trees.

His face was locked in a frown. Not one of rage or irritation, but a brooding, contemplative sort. His mind wasn’t on Jaegel.

It wasn’t even on Rex, or the heretics that may or may not be lurking somewhere close by.

He clenched his jaw. His shoes crunched against fallen leaves as he walked, but he barely noticed.

’I shouldn’t have waited so long before going after them...’ He thought, gnashing his teeth in irritation.

He couldn’t help but feel so disappointed in himself.

Liora, Mira, Emma, and the others... He’d left them alone in a world brimming with enemies—both seen and unseen.

He should have known better. And yet, he’d allowed himself to sink into indulgence.

He was busy enjoying himself with Mira and Liora, while they were out there suffering.

He scowled deeper.

’I let my desires take control... like some mindless beast. I knew better than this.’ He thought, clenching his hands into a fists.

For the first time in a while, he felt the faint curl of something foreign pressing in his chest. Guilt? He didn’t like it. But he didn’t push it away either.

[You really are something, you know that?] Lilith’s voice coiled into his thoughts like silk wrapped in smoke.

Liam blinked. ’What are you talking about?’

[Didn’t expect you to feel this bad about it. Most demons would be grinning ear to ear after doing what you just did.]

He frowned. ’What’s that supposed to mean?’

[Demons follow their desires. We don’t usually regret giving in. We don’t care about the consequences. But you... you’re acting different.]

Liam’s steps slowed slightly. He let those words settle inside him, heavy and strange.

Different?

’Why would I want to choose my desires over the women I love?’ He asked, his tone colder than he intended.

But Lilith didn’t answer. She faded from his mind like mist under the sun, leaving only silence in her wake.

Liam sighed, his breath fogging slightly in the morning air.

They were heading toward where Jaegel said he teleported Emma after they got separated.

But there was a problem.

When he defeated Jaegel, the darkness he kept within the caves disappeared.

And without them, there was no way for the heretic to instantly teleport himself to where he placed them.

However, Liam didn’t regret defeating the heretic, since leaving him alone meant the rest of the girls would continue suffering within the darkness.

But still, it still frustrated him that they had to walk all over the the cave.

And walking through a forest this large, when time might already be slipping too far...

He stopped, the frown on his face deepening slightly.

The air suddenly shifted.

The breeze that had been brushing through the trees just a moment ago died completely. No wind. No birdsong. No rustle of leaves.

Everything became too still.

Jaegel nearly bumped into him from behind, his head bowed so low he hadn’t noticed Liam had come to a halt.

Liam turned, his eyes narrowing.

"...We’ve stepped into an illusion," He said coldly.

He had always suspected that the air around then was simply too quiet, for a village so rampant with heretics.

But since he was so engrossed in his thoughts, he has barely been able to notice.

Jaegel’s breath hitched. His lips parted, but he said nothing.

The forest around them was too perfect. The trees were too evenly spaced. The moss too green. The birds too quiet.

Liam extended his hand and let his aura seep from his fingertips. The divine energy crackled softly like distant thunder, rippling outward in a wave of heatless flame.

Nothing happened at first.

Then the world shimmered.

Like a film being peeled away, the forest twisted unnaturally. The trees warped and flickered. The moss blackened. And the sky above cracked apart like shattered glass.

In an instant, everything around them vanished—replaced by a dull, endless gray field. The scent of rot flooded Liam’s nostrils.

Jaegel gasped, spinning around wildly. "W-what is this?! This isn’t—this isn’t supposed to be here..."

They were no longer in the forest.

They were standing in the center of a ruined clearing, surrounded by withered trees that groaned with every gust of wind.

And before him—almost like a stage being unveiled—figures began to emerge.

Their unnaturally dark cloaks stood out like a sore thumb, and Liam’s eyes locked on them in annoyance.

One by one, they appeared. Shadowy silhouettes wrapped in heavy robes, their faces hidden beneath deep hoods.

There were five of them at first, but more began to gather from the shadows, their very presence seeming to make the air colder, heavier.

A foul energy rolled off them in waves, so thick and noxious it made the earth pulse with unease.

Liam’s muscles tensed.

"Heretics," He muttered, his voice low, thick with disdain.

Jaegel stumbled beside him, his eyes wide as his knees gave out. "N-No... no... It can’t be..."

But Liam barely heard him.

His eyes were locked on something else. Something—someone—that made his blood run cold for an entirely different reason.

Bundled up between two of the cloaked figures, bound and gagged, was a young girl.

Her red hair was messy, strands clinging to her pale face.

Her body trembled weakly, and there were bruises along her arms and legs.

The fabric of her clothes was torn in places, as though she’d been dragged across half the forest before being brought here.

Liam’s heart stopped.

His pupils shrank.

"Emma...?" He whispered.

His voice barely left his lips. It felt as if the world had gone utterly silent for a moment. Then—

BOOM.

His mana aura bursted out like a flame, sending a powerful wave across the withered forest.

The heretics shivered, subconsciously staring at themselves.

Each of them felt like a cold knife was pressed against their skins, and they could barely move, talkless of talk.

Strangely enough, they couldn’t see and trace of energy around Liam, except for the wind blowing violently.

Liam took a step forward, and the ground cracked beneath his heel.

"You bastards..." He growled, his voice trembling not from fear, but from the restraint it took not to already be ripping them apart. "You touched her...?"

The heretics remained silent. Still. Watching.

One of them stepped forward slightly. A woman, by the slight curve of her hips beneath the cloak.

She held up her hand slowly—not in a gesture of peace, but as if to command patience. And yet Liam’s patience was gone.

Jaegel tugged at his sleeve from behind, trembling violently. "M-My Lord... that’s... that’s..."

Liam could tell Jaegel was trying to say something, but he didn’t even glance at him.

"Say something," He hissed, stepping forward again, "Or I’ll start tearing limbs until someone explains what the hell you’re doing with her."

Still, they said nothing.

Instead, the two cloaked figures holding Emma began to back away—slowly—pulling her toward the edge of the clearing.

"Don’t," Liam snarled, the red glow in his eyes flashing dangerously. "Touch her again, and I’ll make you all regret breathing."
