Cucking The Demon King
Chapter 110: In Trouble[2]

Chapter 110: In Trouble[2]

Lela felt the same dread creeping into her bones.

They could try to run, but the beasts were faster. They wouldn’t make it far before getting caught.

Their only option was to fight.

But against this many...

What do their combined strength even do?!

Before either of them could speak, a presence stirred in the distance.

A dark silhouette materialized a few meters behind the horde of beasts.

The figure stood still, shrouded in shadows, their features obscured by the dim lighting.

Despite the lack of visibility, an overwhelming sense of unease washed over Lela.

A chill ran down her spine, her instincts screaming at her that this was no ordinary person.

Cynthia felt it too.

Her fingers trembled slightly around the shaft of her spear, her throat dry.

Then, the figure spoke.

A deep, almost amused voice echoed through the air, its words carrying effortlessly despite the distance.

"So you actually managed to take that one down," it mused, the tone laced with intrigue. "Impressive."

The beasts surrounding them remained eerily still, their growls rumbling like distant thunder.

Lela’s lips pressed into a thin line as she forced herself to keep her stance firm.

She had no idea who—or what—this person was.

But judging from the way they spoke, it was clear.

They were the reason these creatures were here.

And they had been watching all along.

A low chuckle echoed through the air, carrying a mocking undertone.

"Quite strong for a pair of students," the silhouette mused, its voice smooth yet filled with an eerie amusement.

Lela and Cynthia stiffened. Their eyes widened in shock as the words sank in.

’They know...’ Lela thought, her heart pounding.

How? How could this person know they were students? This mission was supposed to be confidential. Even the villagers they met weren’t supposed to be aware of who they really were.

And yet, the way this figure spoke... it was as if they had known from the very beginning.

Cynthia gritted her teeth, her fingers tightening around her spear. The figure was still a distance away, its form obscured by the lingering darkness. Yet, every word it spoke felt unnervingly close, like a whisper just beside their ears.

A shiver crawled down her spine.

"Who... are you?" she demanded, forcing herself to stay calm.

The voice laughed again, slow and taunting.

"Does it matter?" it asked. "What matters is that you’re about to die."

Lela clenched her fists, resisting the urge to lash out recklessly. The air around them felt heavy, almost suffocating. She could see the other beasts shifting restlessly, their red lightning flickering like flames in the dark.

But the voice didn’t stop.

"You should have never stepped foot here," it continued, its tone laced with cruel amusement. "Did you really think you could waltz in and leave unscathed?"

Lela’s throat felt dry.

The pressure of this unseen presence was overwhelming. Whoever this was... they were dangerous.

"You’re wasting your breath," Cynthia spat, trying to mask the unease creeping into her heart. "If you think we’re just going to stand here and let you kill us, you’re mistaken."

A deep chuckle followed her words, growing louder until it filled the entire street.

"Ah... how adorable," the figure mused. "Foolish, but adorable."

The air felt heavier, colder. The growling of the beasts intensified, their red lightning crackling as though feeding off the figure’s presence.

"Your struggle is meaningless," the voice continued, almost lazily. "You are destined to lose, no matter what you do. Your blood will stain this ground, and I wonder... will it be as sweet as I imagine?"

Lela’s stomach twisted in disgust.

She could feel Cynthia tense beside her. The sheer malice in those words made her grip her daggers even tighter.

And then, the voice grew darker.

"Ah... and those bodies of yours," the figure sighed, as if in deep thought. "It would be such a shame to waste them. Perhaps before you die, I’ll—"

"Enough!" Cynthia snapped, her voice ringing out like a sharp blade.

She took a step forward, the glow around her spear intensifying. Lela also readied herself, forcing away the paralyzing fear gripping her chest.

They couldn’t let this thing get into their heads.

The figure only chuckled.

"Ah... how delightful," it murmured, the amusement never leaving its voice. "Well then... let’s see how long you can last."

As soon as the words left its mouth, the beasts lunged.

Lela barely had time to react before one of them closed the distance, its massive body moving at an impossible speed. Its red horns crackled with energy, the air humming with raw power.

She instinctively leaped back, barely avoiding the razor-sharp claws that slashed toward her. The wind from its swipe brushed against her skin, leaving behind a tingling sensation.

Cynthia, on the other hand, swung her spear with precision, aiming for one of the beast’s legs. But to her horror, the strike barely made a scratch. The weapon that had once torn through monsters like paper now felt useless against these creatures.

Another beast lunged from her side. Cynthia barely managed to twist her body, dodging by a hair’s breadth.

Lela clicked her tongue, dashing toward one of the creatures, her daggers gleaming in the dim light. She aimed for its throat, but the moment her blade made contact—

Clang!

Her weapon bounced off its hide as if she had struck solid steel.

’What?!’ she thought, her eyes widening in shock.

The beast barely even flinched. Instead, it growled, red lightning crackling even more violently around its body.

Before she could react, its massive paw lashed out. Lela barely managed to jump back, but the sheer force of the attack sent a powerful gust of wind against her body, nearly throwing her off balance.

These things... were far stronger than the first one.

Cynthia cursed under her breath as she raised another shield of light just in time to block an incoming claw strike. But even with her power, the force of the impact sent a jolt through her entire body.

’These ones... they’re different,’ she realized, gritting her teeth.

Lela noticed it too. The first beast they had fought was nothing compared to these ones. They were faster, stronger, and even more resilient.

This was bad.

Still, they couldn’t back down.

Lela pushed forward again, activating the full speed boost from her light boots. Her form blurred as she darted around one of the beasts, aiming for its joints, its eyes, anywhere that could be a weak spot.

But no matter where she struck, her daggers simply slid off their skin.

Cynthia, seeing Lela struggling, changed her approach. If their hide was too tough to cut, then maybe blunt force could do something.

She channeled as much light energy as she could into her spear, before thrusting it forward with all her might. The spear slammed into the beast’s side—

And yet, the monster barely reacted.

Cynthia’s heart dropped.

’Not even this works?!’ she thought, her hands trembling slightly.

The beast turned toward her, eyes glowing with murderous intent.

And then, before either of them could react, one of the creatures roared, its horns pulsing violently.

Red lightning crackled all around it before gathering at the tip of its horns. The energy condensed rapidly, forming into a massive, unstable sphere of crimson destruction.

Cynthia’s eyes widened in horror.

’It’s aiming at me!’ she realized.

With no other choice, she quickly threw up a shield of light just as the beast released the blast.

The moment the attack met her shield—

BOOM!

An earth-shattering explosion erupted.

The sheer force of the impact sent shockwaves rippling through the street, shattering nearby stalls and sending debris flying in all directions.

Cynthia’s shield—her strongest defense—shattered instantly.

The energy blast slammed into her unguarded body.

Her vision went white.

A split second later, she was airborne, her body flung backward like a ragdoll.

She crashed into a wooden stall with a sickening crunch. The structure collapsed under her weight, burying her beneath the wreckage.

Lela’s breath caught in her throat.

"CYNTHIA!" she screamed, eyes wide in horror.

She barely had time to move before another beast appeared beside her, its horns glowing just like the last one.

It was preparing another massive lightning blast.

Panic surged through her veins.

She immediately pushed her boots to their absolute limit, trying to escape before the attack landed.

But it was hopeless.

The beast fired.

She barely even saw the flash of red before the attack hit her.

A wave of unbearable heat washed over her body, followed by a crushing force that sent her flying.

Everything spun.

Pain exploded through every inch of her being as she crashed into the stone pavement. The impact sent another wave of pain rippling through her bones, stealing the breath from her lungs.

For a moment, everything was a blur.

She could barely hear anything over the ringing in her ears. Her entire body felt numb.

’Did... did I just get hit?’ she thought, dazed.

The sound of approaching footsteps made her force her eyes open. Through her blurred vision, she could see the beasts slowly closing in, their red eyes glowing ominously.

She had to move.

But her body... wasn’t listening.
