Mary nodded, ’’He is trying to resort to self-harm now. He said that if you don’t discharge him, he will cut his wrist and bleed to death right here.’’

Diana glanced at Maxim who seemed to be deep in thought.

’’Where is Alex?" Diana asked Mary. If Alex was around, Mary would not have been so anxious.

’’Dr. Qin was especially tired these few days from taking care of the hospital and especially after this patient’s surgery. So, he took a day off today on the note that the Director is coming back. But unfortunately, we haven’t heard from the Director yet.’’

’’Alex isn’t at the hospital, and you are here then who is with the patient?"

Diana hesitated for a moment before she followed Maxim. She usually handled the administrative work at the hospital and stayed away from such situations since she had no experience with it but the circumstance with Louis fazed her perhaps because she had interacted with the man before.

To some extent, she found him to be a pitiful person who was desperately searching for his son. But at times like this, he terrified her.

And had she been sane, she would have chosen to keep a distance from such a situation. But with Maxim there, her feet seemed to have grown a consciousness of their own as she rushed towards the VIP ward.

Diana glanced at Maxim, ’’Do you think you should tell him about this?" Maxim had briefly mentioned his interaction with Logan on this matter.

And Diana had no idea if things could be carried out like this any longer. Did they need to call Logan over?

He grabbed her hand and pulled her closer to him, ’’Because Logan does not want to be here.’’

Diana frowned.

"I don’t know what is the relationship between them but we can take a guess. And with how Logan has been acting, even if we get him here, we might not get anything out of it if he refuses to take action,’’ Maxim explained. He had talked to Logan about this situation a few times, "His actions and words are unpredictable on this matter."

Diana nodded in understanding, ’’Then, we...’’

’Crash’

Louis flayed his hand and shattered a glass on the floor, turning Maxim’s and Diana’s attention towards him.

’’If you don’t discharge me right this instant, then I will die here and you will be the ones to blame,’’ he glanced at his men who were restraining him as he snarled, ’’You bastards... Let go of me. How dare you lay your filthy hands on me?!"

Diana looked at Louis’s messy appearance, blood-streaked hands that were caused due to the syringes, and his face that seemed to be looking like that of a madman.

And there was a dull ache in her chest when she thought about the person he was when he came to the hospital, temperamental but full of hope for a life that he wanted to live.

And now, he seemed to have lost his mind.

Unconsciously, she took a step forward towards the hospital bed.

Maxim grabbed her hand.

Diana turned to look at him, ’’I just want to talk. He might listen. Or I can just try," After all, they had talked a few times in the past.
