Crashing into an Old Flame
Chapter 113: Was she alive?

Chapter 113: Was she alive?

Why was there a card of ’Light Orphanage’ in Diana’s room?

Where did Diana go with her daughter?

And how?

It has been days since Daisy discovered that not even a single thing went the way she had planned.

No matter how she thought about it, she could not decipher what went wrong with her seemingly perfect plans.

After she discovered her pregnancy, she left States and stayed in France till she gave birth to her daughter. Apparently, her parents could never tame her so they directed all their focus to her little sister to hone her into perfection. Just in case they did not find her suitable to take over the family business in the future, they would let Diana take her place. That was their intention. So, they did not care much about her.

If not for the 16% shares of their company that her grandfather left under his eldest granddaughter’s name, Daisy believed that her parents would not have hesitated twice before disowning her.

But she had no interest in their things. Nor did she like their presence.

She gave birth to her child and her future plans were wrecked by the new addition. She knew that she needed a new plan but before she could do that, her parents started reaching out to her.

They pestered her regarding her betrothal that had happened when she was young. She knew that there was no point in convincing them against it so she went along with their orders by agreeing to the wedding before they could look for her whereabouts.

She handed her daughter to her best friend who lived separately from the Si Family inside her own mansion.

The wedding preparations started and so did her preparations. She was ready to take over a new identity and flee forever.

The only guilt she had in her heart was Diana.

Daisy wanted to take Diana with her but the Chen Family was like quicksand and Diana had gotten deeper inside it. Regardless of the times, she had tried to separate her little sister from them, sometimes they would trap her emotionally, sometimes she would fear the unknown, sometimes Diana would find it impractical to even think of a life without their parents, and even worse.

At the end of the day, Daisy knew that if Diana did not decide on her own then no matter how much she tried to convince her into leaving that hellhole, her little sister would never even think of something like moving out from Chen Mansion, let alone going far away from them. That was why it shocked her more that Diana had run away.

Back then, Daisy did not tell Diana about her plans because her sister was bad at lying and all her efforts would have gone down the drain.

Daisy had wanted to leave that place, but not before giving a huge smack on her parents’ reputation that they treasured the most.

Si Yena was also busy with her family so it was not time.

That was why Daisy waited for the wedding date to arrive faster and in that time. But she still never managed to spend enough time with her daughter.

Daisy remembered holding the girl’s tiny fingers and promising her that soon, she will spend all her time with her.

On the day of her high-profile wedding, Daisy fled from the country in an even more high-profile manner.

As expected, her parents dispatched their people after her.

But during that time, Daisy was not in a panic because she was alone. She had left the country after leaving her daughter with her friend. It was the condition she had made with Si Yena.

Si Yena was there with her when she had given birth and Daisy had told the woman about her plan of starting a new life to which her friend had encouraged her.

Si Yena was supposed to take care of her daughter for a month or till the time the Chens no longer pursued Daisy.

As expected, her parents stopped looking for her. They never really cared for a disappointment like her so it made things easier for Daisy.

A little past one month, she came back, only to find that Si Yena’s mansion was empty. Her phone could not be reached or tracked.

And she went around days and days until she was finally able to track her whereabouts when the woman logged into her social media.

Before looking for Si Yena, Daisy took a trip to the Chen Mansion to gather some information. She had felt like nothing could go wrong with her plans but her heart was in a panic.

What if they got her daughter?

Who could have known that they really did?

And... her little sister who was so scared of the world outside that she let herself suffer inside that golden cage, fled with her daughter.

To say that it was a shock was an understatement.

Diana looked like one of the most delicate girls with princess syndrome. She walked like a socialite, talked like a socialite, and her elegance and grace were like a carbon copy of their mother’s minus the negatives. But Daisy knew that her little sister was low-key the most unruly, impulsive, and stubborn person

Since Diana had convinced herself that she could not make it if she left their family’s shadows, it would be like moving a mountain to be able to change her mind.

But she was gone from the Chen Mansion. Just like that.

Daisy tried to call her, text her, mail her, and every other thing to reach her but nothing worked. She tried to track Diana but her phone, laptop, and everything led her to the mansion. Her other private number was not in reach as well.

And what she got was a card from an orphanage in Diana’s room.

Daisy was bewildered at the progress.

What went wrong exactly? She had planned everything... yet nothing worked out.

She came back in a few weeks only to realize that everything had flipped upside down.

And... her baby... was she even...

Daisy swallowed the big lump in her throat.

Was her baby even alive?

The thought of it made her feel like someone was clutching her heart.

And the funny thing was that she had even considered abortion at a point. Yet, the thought of losing her child was giving her waves of nausea now.

’’Stop...’’

The cab came to a screeching halt.

Daisy paid the driver some cash she had withdrawn and stepped out of the cab as she rubbed her chest, trying to get rid of the dark thoughts that consumed her head.

But as her gaze shifted to the place in front of her, her heart dropped.

’Light Orphanage’

’’Why?’’ Daisy frowned.

Yesterday, Si Yena was gone from the motel and upon tracking her again, this turned out to be her new location.

Si Yena had not logged into her social media again. And Daisy believed that the man who was with her, apparently Ryle’s subordinate and Si Yena’s lover was trying to protect them from getting tracked.

But since she had already logged in once in the past, it was not a big deal for Daisy to track her anymore unless Si Yena deleted her account which she would never do considering how obsessed she was with her fan following.

’’Miss Si had asked me to hand this over to the owner of this orphanage,’’ Daisy, still disguised as Dexter, slapped a thick wad of cash on the table.

’’Who?" The receptionist was initially dazed by the handsome man standing in front of her but she asked as soon as she came back to her senses.

’’Miss Si Yena,’’ Daisy said, looking around the apparently small orphanage which seemed to be going through a detailed renovation.

’’Benefactor?" the receptionist asked.

Daisy’s brows raised subtly, ’’Yes.’’

’’Then, let me take this to the owner...’’

Daisy grabbed the girl’s hand when she reached out to hold the cash, ’’I need to leave for business. Let me meet Miss Si first. In fact, shoot your owner a text so that they can thank her for this.’’

The receptionist was initially suspicious because she was told that nobody knew about Si Yena’s presence there but when she saw the cash, heard the man’s words, and noticed that the man seemed to be acting like he was Si Yena’s subordinate, she did not doubt her anymore, ’’Please follow me.’’

Inside a guest room in the orphanage.

...

’’Baby, don’t leave...’’ A woman was curled in the bed, naked in a man’s arms.

Her bodyguard bit her shoulder, ’’We will make it out of this,’’ he palm squeezed the woman’s breast and as she moaned, he kissed her deeply before standing up, ’’If that crazy man does not stop coming after us, then I will let go of all my remaining respect for him. I will assassinate Ryle Harper.’’
