Chapter 105: 105. Furious Alicia... Again

After sharing Rebecca’s marketing strategy to Duke, he agreed that it was a good idea and so I gave the girls the jobs of selecting the schools that our company will be hosting the competitions at.

Once the video advert for the product came out, and the Hola chocolate bar was in every retail outlet, we started contacting the selected schools and the ones that agreed to have us were picked while others that rejected our offers were replaced with different schools.

Soon, after all preparations were made, our company started visiting the selected schools and so far the ones in charge have been to ten schools in two weeks and the returns are quite high.

"Just a little shake among the founding family of Gold group and their stocks plummeted." I say as I remember what happened soon after news of Alicia’s attempt to seduce my husband spread through the internet.

It’s crazy how human beings are so concerned about the affairs of other people to the point where they refuse to purchase the goods of the company that has such a woman like Alicia as CEO.

I even witnessed it firsthand when I went to the supermarket sometime that week when the news broke out.

A woman was shopping with her daughter and when the child picked up a cereal that was one of Gold groups signature products, the mother pulled it out of her daughter’s hand like it was filth and placed it back on the shelf, saying it wasn’t good to eat food produced by bad people then she went on to pick a Harford cereal instead.

As the sales of Gold foods plummeted, there was an obvious push in the demand of Harford foods and electronics too. I didn’t really expect my actions that night would so much boost our sales. I only intended to humiliate Alicia, who would have known that my actions that night were a marketing strategy?

"I wonder how low it will drop when I’m done with them all."

"Ma’am, you can’t go in there." I hear Stella’s voice coming from the other side of the door. Stella doesn’t raise her voice like that, I wonder who is there.

"I have told you madam, if you wish to see either of the CEO’s, you will need to make an appointment beforehand. You can’t come barging in here no matter who you are."

Who could it be?

"How dare you, a mere secretary, talk to me like this! Do you know who I am?!"

Ah, Alicia. I should have guessed.

"I will slap you if you don’t let me through this instant." The audacity she always has never ceases to amaze me. I mean where does she think she is, to want to slap my employee?!

"I’m sorry ma’am but my job jurisdiction doesn’t require me to condone such acts of violence from visitors," Haha! Stella also never stops making me laugh. Did she really just say that?

"Especially not from unwanted visitors," one strike for Stella.

"What?! You little—"

"So if you try to harm me in any way, just so you know before you even try, I will be more than justified if I attack first or if I retaliate, so I will advise that you think twice before raising your hand." Indeed workplace violence is something I detest, so if Alicia was to hit my employee and my employee retaliated, I’d give her a raise rather than scolding her. There are also cameras out there to back her up as evidence.

"You uneducated midget!" Alicia screams.

"You have no appointment so it is in your best interests that you leave and make a proper appointment before coming back here." The calmness of Stella’s voice is quite alarming. Maybe it’s just because she’s been working with Alan and Duke for a while so their personalities have rubbed off on her. She’s so calm in this situation.

"Are you seriously out of your mind?! I see, I see. So this is how you are trained in this company. To be completely mannerless and rude!" Alicia yells. It’s like she can’t talk without screaming.

For someone who didn’t need to even be as audible as a baby kitten to pull people’s attention, it’s crazy that right now she’s screaming like a goat being slaughtered and her words don’t still seem to be getting through to Stella.

It must be quite annoying for Alicia.

"If anyone is being rude and mannerless, I dare say it is you Miss Gold who barged in here without a proper appointment. And also your opinion will only matter if you are a welcomed guest. As of now, you are obstructing the proper flow of business, so I will ask you one last time to please leave." Ten strikes go Stella.

I pick the telephone, "Hello,"

"Yes ma’am,"

"What is going on out there?" I ask, even though I already know what is happening.

"Sorry for the disturbance ma’am. It’s Miss Alicia Gold, she does not have an appointment with you or Mr Grand yet she insists on seeing you." Stella calmly explains.

"Ah, I see. I thought it was something important. Alright send her away and get back to your work."

"Yes ma’am."

"Was that Champagne?! Was—"

"That is not your concern Miss Gold, like I said earlier, you are obstructing the proper flow of the workplace please take your leave."

"I am going to meet Champagne and—"

"If you take one more step I will have security move you out of this building. So please, maintain your dignity and walk out on your own two feet." one hundred strikes for Stella.

"You will all regret this!" I hear Alicia say.

Her voice has died down, and I can’t hear any more sounds coming from them. She must have left.

I can’t wait to get home and tell Duke all about this.

"Stella? I thought you said you were leaving about an hour ago?" I say as I step out of my office about to head home and find her still busy on her desk.

"Oh I was going to leave, but then I remembered I had some emails I was supposed to respond to but then pushed back."

"Well you can do it tomorrow. Go home it’s already past seven."

"I’m almost done, this is the last mail. I’ll just finish it and go."

"Alright then. See you tomorrow."

"Have a pleasant evening ma’am."

"You too." I say and walk away, but then turn around and, "Oh, Stella,"

"Yes ma’am." She lifts her head from her monitor and stares at me.

"Good job. You handled that rabid creature very well this afternoon." The proud smile that rises to her face shows how happy she is to hear that compliment.

"I was only doing my job ma’am."

"Well, you did it well."

"Thank you ma’am."

...

"Champagne!!" I hear a voice as I’m just about to open my car. How the heck did they let her linger around the parking lot? And wait, did she really wait here all this time?! It’s past seven and she came since past twelve!! How many hours has that been?!

I turn around and see her approaching me like a very angry bull. Well, I’m beginning to see this side of her a lot lately.

"How could you?! You cheating bitch!" She’s ranting

"To think you’re still here just to catch a glimpse of me. I didn’t realize you missed me so much." I say with my back resting on my car, my hands folded over my chest and one leg crossed over the other.

"How could you ask me to be thrown out just like that?!"

"Why did you come without an appointment?" I shrug.

"How could you steal another company’s projects! I promise you, I will sue you for this!" She suddenly says and I can’t hold back the laugh that bursts out of my mouth.

"I wonder how I didn’t see how dumb you were all these years." Like seriously. "And let myself get pushed around, looked down on, and completely disregarded by you."

"What?"

"You think sueing me will prove much use to you? Go ahead, sue me. Sue me and see what happens."

"Just you wait Champagne, you will come begging at my feet soon because I will destroy everything you have right now!"

"If anyone would be at any body’s feet then it will be you at my feet and you can beg all you want but I promise you Alicia, I will not stop until I ruin you completely and see you either locked up behind bars or a psychiatric ward!"

"Y_You_ You—"

"If you have nothing left to say, I’d excuse myself. I’m a very busy woman, you see. Oh and the next time you will barge into my place of work like this again I will make sure you are placed on the shoulder of a security guard and escorted out of here screaming while getting your photos taken with your dignity fading away, so don’t pull this stunt again. It’s unpleasant to deal with you."
