Conquering His Cold Heart
Chapter 472 - 472: Suggestions

Anastasia didn't deny anything that Vincent had just said to her.

It was true that she didn't see Caspian forgiving her in the near future. It was also true that she was there to seek suggestions from Vincent and Tilla, and if available, she was also seeking for some comfort from her friend.

Vincent didn't want to push Anastasia any further. She already looked broken. He didn't want to break her spirit any further. So, he stopped questioning her or saying anything else.

The living room became quiet until Tilla finally came sprinting to greet Anastasia.

"Anna!" Tilla spread her arms and immediately flung herself to hug her dear and poor friend. "Oh, Anna… How are you doing? Are you alright?" She pulled away from the hug and asked while examining her friend's face and hands, "You aren't hurt anywhere, are you?"

"Why would I be hurt?" Anastasia managed to pull the corners of her lips and force a little smile on her face. "I am fine. I'm alright."

Tilla was a hundred percent sure that Anastasia was anything but alright. She took Anastasia's palms in her hands and said in an apologetic tone, "I'm so sorry I couldn't come to the castle even after hearing how the King has been acting lately."

Upon learning how the King got angry at Vincent, Tilla had begged Vincent to take her to the castle. However, Vincent had clearly denied her request stating that Anastasia had asked him to protect her and that was what he was doing.

After how Caspian behaved with him and Zenon, Vincent wasn't sure how Caspian would act if they were to come face-to-face with each other. And seeing how Caspian wouldn't even spare a second and listen to reasons, he didn't want Tilla to be anywhere near Caspian.

What if he took out Anastasia's anger on Tilla? What if he used Tilla as a hostage to mentally torture Anastasia or did something stupid and bad? He couldn't risk it.

Anastasia maintained a little smile on her face when she looked into Tilla's eyes and said to ease her friend's worry, "It's okay. You should stay here until you fully heal. I have Martha and Holly to take care of my needs. Since my fight with Caspian, they haven't left me alone, not even for a second. One of them stays in the antechamber during the night as well."

"Is that so?" Tilla nodded her head as she took in the information.

However, her worries escalated further upon learning that the personal maids were keeping an eye out on Anastasia during the night as well. "You haven't been eating and sleeping in time, have you?"

"I do…" Anastasia pursed her lips and said after nodding a few times. "I do eat and sleep in time."

But the dark circles around her eyes said otherwise. Though Martha and Holly had done their best to even out Anastasia's complexion, Tilla's keen eyes could clearly see what was under that layer of powder.

Tilla heaved a sigh and asked again, "How is the King taking it? Is he worried about you or is he angry at you?"

Anastasia looked down at her hands and said after shrugging, "I guess both?"

"He hasn't done anything… bad, right?" Tilla asked as a deep frown line etched on her forehead.

"I mean he is angry… He hasn't been talking to me properly. And we barely meet," Anastasia said bitterly.

She breathed through her mouth to soothe her burning throat and then quickly defended Caspian's behavior towards her, "But after finding out how I have been lying to him, he has the right to get mad at me. If I was lied to like this, even I would have lost my composure."

Vincent cleared his throat and chimed into the conversation. "If Caspian's offer still stands then you might want to leave for Orsenia for a few weeks… until his anger cools down a bit. You can also take Tilla with you."

Anastasia immediately shook her head and mumbled, "Both Tilla and I aren't in any condition to travel."

"You don't have to travel continuously." Vincent shifted on the edge of the sofa and tried to talk Anastasia into leaving, "You can take multiple breaks in between your travel and target to reach your homeland in 4-5 days. You don't have to–"

"No, Lord Vincent." Anastasia abruptly cut him off and showed her determination to stay in Sorvando, "I really don't want to leave now. If anything, I would like to resolve this tension between me and Caspian as soon as possible."

Vincent pinched the bridge of his nose and said in utter frustration, "You said it yourself that the two of you are barely talking and seeing each other. How can you resolve things if you he doesn't even want to talk to you?"

"That's why I am here." Anastasia lifted her head and looked at Vincent with a pleading gaze. "I want to know if there is anything that I can do to fix things between us. Please, Lord Vincent. Help me smooth things out with Caspian. "

Vincent sighed in defeat and shifted backward. 'How did I forget that the Queen is as stubborn as Caspian?' he thought to himself.

But he still said what he was thinking, "I would have loved it if you two left Sorvando for the time being. At least you wouldn't be in constant danger. Who knows when Caspian might lose his calm and what he might do to either of you?"

"I am hoping to talk things out with Caspian before things got any worse than this," Anastasia said in a low voice.

"Have you tried asking the King directly to have a chat with you?" Tilla asked innocently.

Anastasia looked down, disappointed at herself, and muttered, "I cannot even bring myself to stand in front of Caspian without getting nervous or afraid. And he doesn't initiate the talk. I am at a loss here. I don't know how to strike a conversation with him anymore."

Tilla hummed for a while and then shared her idea, "Then how about preparing a gift for the King?"
