Chapter 32: Are you a superhuman?

The chaos brought by the humanoid monsters continued. More and more monsters appeared. Even the SWORD Corps members find the situation very difficult.

The captain quickly ordered his men to prioritize saving the people and brought them inside the building, so they could hide.

Leaving the school was no longer an option at this point. There were so many humanoid monsters wandering around the campus.

The students, teachers, and instructors, all of them were trapped inside the school buildings. Even the students in superhuman class, found themselves trapped inside their school building.

At first, they were so eager to fight, but right after the humanoid monsters crossed their backyard, they found out these monsters were not easy to deal with.

Although they have superpowers, that doesn’t mean they are not prone to exhaustion. Their only choice was to pray that someone could find the source and defeat it faster. Otherwise, the whole campus would be in great danger.

Inside the school buildings, the students and teachers looked terrified. Very terrified to even look outside the windows. They were covering the windows with anything they could use just to avoid the humanoid monsters from entering through them.

Meanwhile, Melody was running away from a group of humanoid monsters who were chasing after her unceasingly. Wherever she went, they chased her.

Her breathing was heavy and sweat trailed down her face. She knew that if this continued, it would be bad not only for her but for all the people in the school. Maybe even the whole city would be in danger later.

If these monsters go out of the campus, then the chances the whole city would descend to chaos as well is not impossible.

Something must be done to avoid that from happening and end this madness.

In her mind, she thought, ’I need to find the source quickly!’

A while ago, she helped another group of students she encountered on the way. After saving them from the pursuing humanoid monsters, they asked her to help a student who was in the abandoned warehouse. They also talked about another student who was suddenly turning into something scary.

They didn’t explicitly explain the details, but Melody had a feeling that it was connected to the source. She hastily asked them where she could find the abandoned warehouse. The group, which was composed of Sujin, Megan, and her friends, hastily told Melody the whereabouts of the abandoned warehouse.

Melody headed there immediately. Unfortunately, some of the humanoid monsters spotted her and so they chased her. And that’s how she came to her current situation.

After a couple of minutes, her feet finally brought her to the place mentioned by those students.

"This must be the place, right?"

In front of her was a rundown building, looking gray and dark and obviously unattended for who knows how long since then.

Standing outside of it, she noticed something unusual that stunned her.

The chasing humanoid creatures, they suddenly gone, their bodies disappearing, turning into wisps of black smoke all at once.

The ominous aura that was proliferating on the campus was also disappearing. The dark clouds gathering up above the school also disappeared and went back to a bright sunny sky.

"Eh? What’s happening?" Melody was left standing for a few seconds, wondering if what happened just a while ago was just an illusion.

However, the groaning noise coming from the building in front of her brought her senses back to reality.

She quickly entered there to see what was going on inside.

"Kyzer!?"

After she entered, Melody saw Kyzer standing in front of what seemed like a male student who was groaning faintly.

In addition to the slight demonic aura in the air, she quickly concluded.

"Is he the source?"

Kyzer, who was a little bit startled by her sudden call, looked at her in a daze before he responded.

"No wonder those humanoid monsters suddenly disappeared. So you defeated him already."

"Uhh—" he wanted to say something but stopped when Melody smiled at him and said, "Good job. As expected of you. You beat me in finding it first and defeating it." Melody believed fully that it was Kyzer who defeated it.

Kyzer frowned secretly.

When Kyzer entered, a strong ominous aura hit him and knocked him unconscious. He had no idea how long he was unconscious, but when he opened his eyes again, this was what entered his vision, a faintly groaning person on the ground and a surrounding that was obviously a mess.

Melody glanced around and noticed the scene of what seemed like the aftermath of a great clash.

There were some holes in the ground and broken segments on the wall and even on the roof. There was also a strong stench of blood and flesh in the air. She frowned when she noticed red stains on the ground.

Melody approached Kyzer and looked at the person on the floor. "You’re truly admirable. You didn’t kill him despite the trouble he caused. You’re truly a true hero," she looked at him warmly. This time, Kyzer once again saved more people. She thought. "Regardless, I think we should report this immediately."

Hearing her, Kyzer snapped from a daze. "Y-You are, right. We should do that."

Sometimes later, Kyzer received praise from the teachers, instructors, and even the students of both classes. He also received praise from his colleagues from the SWORD Corps.

Once again, Kyzer’s popularity rose to an even greater height.

"Kyzer the Savior" and "Kyzer the Hero" are just some of the many moniker people gave him.

Sujin, Megan, the two friends of Megan, and Dante were held inside a private room for investigation. They were reported as people who had the last contact with James.
