Chapter 54: [Weekly Bonus Chapter 1/6] Snu Snu?
Following Adrian’s win, the crowd went silent, trying to figure out what just happened. One moment, it seemed the outsider would die. But the tables had turned in the blink of an eye, and the mighty Bakira was whimpering on the floor.
They were surprised because Bakira wasn’t someone to mess with, even with a weapon, let alone without one. The tribespeople knew that.
Bakira was a fierce creature with no bounds other than its master’s words. A beast whose day began with wrestling with the chieftain and ended while hunting for prey. Yet it was defeated so quickly, and everyone found that strange.
But the winner didn’t care about what the rest thought of him. Adrian was busy acting like he owned the place, i.e. the cage and stared A’Mila down, still grinning. Meanwhile, Bakira, pinned and helpless, let out another yelp, making A’Mila angrier.
"ENOUGH!" she yelled. "Open the cage!"
Akila instructed the men to open the cage, and Adrian hopped off Bakira, walking towards the other end of the cage.
He was well aware of everyone’s reaction to his victory. While he wanted to get some payback for the humiliation he had been through, rubbing his win in A’Mila’s face wasn’t the only reason Adrian put on a performance.
It had been a while since he toyed with the entities and made them empty their wallets. Thus, when faced with the challenge of fighting Bakira, he saw it as the ideal moment to attract sponsorships.
True to his expectations, the entities were intrigued by his performance, and he got seven stat points as a reward for his efforts.
’A little less than I expected, but hey, it’s free points, so I ain’t complaining!’
[The lesser entity, ’Hunting Is My Passion’, wants to know how you defeated the Shadowstalker as she had never seen a mortal defeat such a majestic beast bare-handed.]
’Wanna know how I defeated Bakira, eh?’
But since the entity asked about it, Adrian’s mind went back to the situation a few minutes ago—the moment he made his first mistake.
Although he didn’t want to admit it, he had severely underestimated Bakira since it was at level 27. Adrian, for all intent and purposes, was way ahead of the dang creature.
But upon receiving the shadowstalker’s initial attack, Adrian immediately realised his faults and went on offence.
However, he couldn’t have used his abilities while A’Mila and the rest of the council were watching them, as he couldn’t risk revealing the true extent of his powers, or the tribe might turn hostile towards him.
He patiently bided his time, deliberately presenting himself as weak and pitiful so A’Mila would be disappointed and take her eyes off him.
Adrian’s strategy was simple: endure long enough for them to walk away and use the [Illusionary Eyes] on Bakira the moment A’Mila lost her interest in the fight.
The task of enduring the pain proved surprisingly easy, thanks to the regenerative properties of his Troll blood that continuously healed his injuries.
Also, with the blood covering his wounds, no one would notice his disappearing wounds until it was too late.
Then, Adrian bid his time for the opportune moment to use his skills, and it didn’t take long for the beast to drop its guard.
That’s when Adrian used [Illusionary Eyes] to stun Bakira long enough for him to capitalise on the situation. By the time anyone could realise something was off about Bakira, the fight was long over.
[The lesser entity, ’Hunting Is My Passion’, awaits the User’s response.]
"It’s a trade secret," Adrian whispered softly so the entity would hear him. "If you want someone’s secret, you have to compensate them, don’t you think?"
[The lesser entity, ’The Greedy Moron With The Golden Touch’, scoffs and says the User thinks too greedy and he’s all there for it.]
’...what are you happy about?’ Adrian thought as he read the entity’s name.
However, Adrian didn’t bother responding to the greedy moron because A’Mila was about to enter the cage, and she didn’t look pleased with what she saw.
With a spiky collar, she knelt beside Bakira and freed the creature before staring daggers at Adrian.
’Don’t you give me that John Wick look,’ Adrian thought as he averted his gaze. ’You’re the one who wanted the fight, not me. Besides, be grateful I didn’t just kill your pet to get an organ or two.’
Although Adrian said that, there was no way he would kill Bakira and give the tribe any reason to mess with him. Even though he acted like a baffoon earlier by tying Bakira’s legs, Adrian knew there was a limit to what the tribe could tolerate.
Once freed, Bakira then ran outside, and A’Mila made her way towards Adrian as he wiped the blood off his face. While he was preoccupied, A’Mila got uncomfortably close to him and, before Adrian knew it, snapped a collar to his neck.
"What the- What do you think you’re doing?" Adrian asked, bewildered.
"Taming a new pet," A’Mila whispered as she attached a chain to the collar. "After all, my old one proved to be useless."
"This-"
"Shut it, and come with me!"
With that, A’Mila yanked the chain, forcing Adrian to follow her. While the women looked a bit disappointed, probably because he was ’off the market’, the men didn’t share the same sentiment.
As A’Mila dragged him towards her tent, Adrian saw the faces of the male members and could see a hint of jealousy in their eyes.
’Really? Are you morons being jealous of this treatment? What the fuck is wrong with you all?’
For that instance, Adrian couldn’t help but think if the tribe was filled with masochists. But he didn’t have much time for himself as A’Mila dragged him inside the tent and shoved him on the bed before climbing on top of him.
’What the hell is going on here!? I didn’t sign up for this snu-snu session!’
He tried fighting back, but A’Mila effortlessly pinned his hands to the bed before leaning in. A’Mila inched closer, and he braced himself, fearing the worst.
He felt her warm breath on his neck and thought that was it. He was going to be forced to cheat on Sophia. But then, just as quickly, A’Mila got off him.
"Get up," she commanded.
"Huh?" Adrian looked surprised and confused until he saw the collar in her hands.
Since her hands were busy keeping him in place, A’Mila had used her mouth to undo his collar, which would explain why he felt her breath on his neck.
Seeing Adrian’s confused reaction, A’Mila smirked, "Don’t tell me you were expecting something else?"
