Chimaera's Conquest: The Legend Of The Devourer
Chapter 219: Royal Mess Up (2)

Chapter 219: Royal Mess Up (2)

High atop the tallest peak ever created, clouds danced around the cliffs. There, in the realm unreachable by any mortal, sat a majestic palace.

The Golden Palace was known to be the residence of the existence that ruled over Olympus. However, at that moment, the Palace was shrouded in silence.

Inside, a certain red-haired woman seethed with anger, her eyes flashing with fury as she stared at a flash of text before her. No one, not even her good-for-nothing husband, had ever dared insult her like a mortal did.

"You are dead... mark my words, mortal..."

Hera, queen of the gods, fumed as her hands were clenched tightly in her lap. A mere mortal had dared to mock her, and she was livid when not even her husband came to defend her.

But as she contemplated her next move, she realised why Zeus didn’t intervene in the matter.

’There are too many eyes on that mortal...’

Not only did Adrian have Olympians watching him, but the fallen angels and even some from the other pantheons also had their eyes on him. As such, doing anything considered ’unjust’ would land them in huge trouble.

But despite her rage, Hera knew that her hands were tied. She was the queen of Olympus, but even her power had its limits. To retaliate against Adrian would risk drawing the ire of the other gods and goddesses, inviting conflict and chaos that she couldn’t afford.

She might be the queen of Olympus, but even she was not above their scrutiny from both within and outside the pantheon.

Then there were the Admins. Hera didn’t even want to think about the kind of causality they would give her if they found out what she had been up to.

Just then, one of her rivals, Aphrodite, approached her. She appeared as beautiful as ever, curvy and voluptuous, like a dream turned into flesh.

Her skin was smooth and flawless, glowing with a god-like radiance that would even put the sun to shame. Long, flowing locks of golden hair traced her curves like a river flowing down a mountain.

Her lips were full and inviting, painted red that seemed to beckon any man who dared look upon them. She oozed an aura of irresistible charm and allure with each step, drawing all who saw her into her irresistible grasp.

In her presence, men couldn’t help but feel a primal longing, a desire to worship and adore her. For Aphrodite was more than just a goddess of beauty; she was a living embodiment of passion, a wet dream made real.

"My queen," she said softly, her voice sweet like honey, "why do you look so troubled?"

Hera rolled her eyes when she noticed Aphrodite. Despite being a friend, she knew Aphrodite was often known to be a chronic gossiper.

Hera had no doubts that she was aware of what had happened and had come there to mock her, like the time she did when Paris, the prince of Troy, claimed Aphrodite was prettier than her.

"That loud-mouthed mortal, Adrian, has dared to insult me," Hera growled, her voice laced with venom. "But I cannot act against him without risking the ire of the others. Not when my husband is too big of a coward to defend his wife!"

Aphrodite smiled gently, her eyes twinkling with mischief. She knew Hera was agitated and wouldn’t think rationally as long as she got what she wanted. It was the opportune time to make the queen owe her a favour.

"Why worry about a mere mortal?" she asked, acting her part in trying to soothe the queen. "If it brings you any peace, I can make his life miserable. After all, I am quite popular on Earth, and I have many followers who would be more than willing to deal with one rowdy man."

Hera’s eyes narrowed, clearly suspicious of Aphrodite’s sudden helpful nature. She knew the witch had to have some scheme going on in her head and was about to reject her, but then Hera wondered if she could take advantage of Aphrodite like she wanted to do to her.

"And why would you do this for me?" Hera asked, her tone guarded. "The last time I checked, you had no desire to be involved in these matters."

Aphrodite’s smile widened, her curves accentuated by the soft light of the Palace. Her charms were useful when taming the men, but that didn’t mean the women were immune to her aura.

That’s why she wanted to break Hera, someone who was the anti-embodiment of everything Aphrodite stood for. If she could make Hera fall for her, she would be victorious, and all of Olymopus would look up to Aphrodite as their rightful queen, not Hera.

"Because, my queen," she purred, reaching for Hera’s hand. "I wish to see you happy. And if ridding you of this nuisance brings you joy, then it will be my pleasure to assist you, and I’m certain you won’t forget about me when it comes to pleasure..."

Hera considered Aphrodite’s offer for a moment, weighing the risks and benefits. Since her husband was busy chasing after mortals, getting involved with someone like Aphrodite wouldn’t be a bad trade-off. Instead, she could even use it to get back at Zeus for once.

"Very well," she said, her voice firm. "If you can rid me of Adrian’s presence, I will grant you anything you desire, including that pleasure you spoke of."

Aphrodite bowed gracefully, giving Hera a look into what awaited her. But more than that, she wanted to ensure that Hera couldn’t think of anything but her.

"Thank you, my queen," she said, her voice filled with gratitude. "I will not disappoint you."

With that, Aphrodite turned and left the chamber, her hips swaying seductively with each step. Hera watched her go with newfound interest. They will spend some time, but it would be the last thing Aphrodite would ever do... considering how Hera would silence her later.

With Aphrodite’s help, she could rid herself of Adrian once and for all. But Hera had no desire to get involved in the mess Aphrodite would create and would pay the price for it later.

"Little witch wanted to play with me. Fine, I will entertain you, but not the way you desire it," Hera mumbled as she leaned back, enjoying the time before Adrian learned his lesson.
