Adrian, smirking at the goblin lord, activated the hidden ability of his serpent whip, Ethereal Protection. He had swapped the whip with the sword when he noticed the beasts behind him, and the goblin lord didn’t see it and now he’d pay for being careless.

In an instant, his body began to phase out of reality. The goblin lord’s grip could grasp onto nothing as Adrian slipped through its fingers like smoke, his form shifting in and out of their plane of existence.

The goblin lord roared in frustration, his claws swiping at the empty air as Adrian casually walked out of the beast’s reach. With each failed attempt to grasp him, the creature’s anger grew, its movements becoming more frantic.

However, it wasn’t all good, as Adrian felt his insides were churning due to constant phasing in and out of reality. It wasn’t until he let go of the whip that he materialised again.

However, Adrian shook those thoughts out of his head. There was no point in wondering what could have been when it was impossible. Instead, he began wondering about what organs he would get to harvest after defeating the goblin lord.

"No matter how many tricks you have, you’re still just a little runt!" the goblin lord roared, mindlessly swinging his cleaver.

No matter how hard the goblin lord tried, he could even tough a strand of Adrian’s hair. It wasn’t all that surprising, considering the creature still had the bandages wrapped around his eyes.

Realising his mistake, the goblin lord undid the bandages to reveal a pair of ocean-blue eyes.

"It’s not ready yet," the goblin lord smirked. "But it’s enough to let you know why I’m the strongest-"

"Yeah? What are you going to do next?" Adrian rolled his eyes. "Cross your fingers and yell Domain Expansion?"

Sophia heard him say that, and even though she had her hands full, she couldn’t hold herself back. "Are you for real right now?"

"I’m for real, real!" Adrian replied, winking at her.

"Ugh... enough with the references! Just kill him already!"

"Sheesh... it won’t hurt you to show some respect to the honoured one..."

"Enough!" The goblin lord yelled. "How dare you mock me-"

"It wasn’t a dare if I’m being honest," Adrian replied, stretching his legs. "Just some good old mockery."

It seemed Adrian had successfully ticked off the beast. After all, even its thick black aura became visible to them, and it meant only one thing, shit was about to get real.

"Behold and suffer!" the goblin lord yelled as strands of his aura shot towards Adrian. "A mere touch of my mana would force you to experience pain like never before!"

"Are you sure about that?" Adrian replied, raising his hand.

The next moment, he absorbed the strands of the beast’s aura.

The goblin lord was dumbfounded. Wasting no time, he used the [Roar of Confusion], hoping to take advantage of Adrian’s confused state.

With no other way, the goblin lord decided to use his ultimate spell. Sacrificing one of his eyes, he began a summoning ritual. A moment later, thousands of poisonous spears burst out of the ground.

"Let’s see how you get out of this trap alive-"

The goblin lord was confident in his victory and smirked until he noticed Adrian casually snapping the tip off a venomous spear to dislodge some food stuck in his teeth.

"That’s the spot," Adrian commented, discarding the broken spear. "Oh, sorry, were you saying something?"

"M-Monster!" the goblin lord yelled and was about to run away when something flew over his head.

The beast looked up, only to see its death as Adrian brought the Minotaur’s Broadsword down on him, slicing the beast in half. At least that was his intention, but the sword only managed to sever a part of its torso.

"Tch, the blade got dull from all the chopping I have been doing in this dungeon," Adrian clicked his tongue before aiming for the monster’s head. "Don’t worry, I won’t miss this time."

However, before he could swing the blade, an arrow hit the goblin lord in the head, killing it.
