Chapter 153: [Weekly Bonus Chapter 3/6] Back In A Familiar Place
In the desolate slum streets, rain poured down in sheets, soaking everything in its path. Neon signs flickered weakly, casting eerie shadows on the empty sidewalks. Puddles formed in the potholes, mirroring the flickering lights above.
Some faces could be seen peeping through the broken windows, and boarded-up storefronts lined the streets. Yet they were unaware of what was happening in the alley behind the buildings.
Out of nowhere, a small portal appeared in one secluded alley. Without any warning, four figures were hurled out of the portal, including a small, cuddly wolf, landing in a tangled heap on the wet pavement. The next moment, the portal disappeared as if it had never been there.
Adrian got up, shaking off the dizziness, and checked on the rest. Amelia and Sophia threw the helmets away and puked their guts out right then and there. Since Adrian had been through a much worse dimension-hopping session, he wasn’t phased this time.
As for A’Mila, she tried to be tough, but when Adrian pointed his head towards the girls, A’Mila joined them. While they did that, Adrian got rid of the protective suit and wore Nexarian clothes they took from the Outpost.
"Four of us against the Church..." Adrian sighed. "I don’t like those odds."
Initially, six others were supposed to accompany them. However, due to the lack of protective suits, only the four of them could make the journey.
[The lesser entity, Let Me Yolo Her, scoffs and feels ashamed by the thoughts of a fellow man.]
"Your name is a bit suggestive, don’t you think?" Adrian smiled.
Adrian knew someone who had a similar name. He was a great guy who helped him in a game he used to play before being summoned to Nexaria.
’Those were great times... what I wouldn’t give to experience that fucking boss battle again.’
But then another thought hit Adrian.
’Weren’t the entities busy dealing with a problem?’ he thought, and the system responded promptly.
[While the entities and Higher entities are solving their feud, the channel was opened to the lesser-known entities to compensate for the interruption.]
"I see..." Adrian mumbled. He turned to see the girls dressed and ready to leave, but something was missing.
They intentionally picked old, torn clothes to adjust to the slum’s environment. But now it seemed like the wrong decision. Even in the shabby clothes, the girls stood out with their bold figures.
And it wasn’t a good thing. Not while they were in the slums.
Adrian chose the slums as the best place for them to lay low and investigate the Ravens. But none of that would be possible if the women took everyone’s attention, and having unnecessary attention was similar to announcing that they didn’t belong there.
’Unlike me, they can’t change their appearance,’ Adrian scratched his head, thinking of a way to make them look unpleasant. ’This is going to be a problem...’
"These tight clothes are uncomfortable," A’Mila said, fidgeting with her crop top.
"This won’t work," Adrian announced, looking around for anything to help him deal with the situation.
"I agree," Sophia mumbled, looking at A’Mila. "We need to figure out something else to lay low."
Just then, his eyes fell on the garbage stacked up in the corner and an evil idea sprouted in his mind. The girls followed his gaze, and their smiles dropped.
"Oh, hell no!" Amelia and Sophia yelled simultaneously, but it was too late.
"Sorry for this, girls!"
Adrian grabbed two smelly garbage bags and tossed them onto the girls. Sophia quickly cast a spell to push the bags away, but they burst open when her spell hit them, showering them with their stinky, rotten contents.
"With that smell, no one would bother coming near you, let alone find you attractive-"
"Adrian..." A’Mila snarled, but she had a smile on her face.
Adrian glanced at them, and they all wore the same cruel grin as they pounced on him.
"Goodbye, cruel world..." Adrian mumbled, giving up on his existence.

A few minutes later...
"Hope you don’t mind the smell," Sophia taunted before getting off Adrian.
"Why would he mind?" Amelia scoffed. "Three beauties just jumped him in an empty alley. Some people would kill to be in his place."
[The lesser entity, Dragon Empress With A Thousand Anal Piercings, jealousy looks on with flushed cheeks.]
’... and here I thought the higher entities were weird. I guess there’s always someone worse.’
[The lesser entity, Dragon Empress With A Thousand Peach Piercings, begs for more verbal abuse from the User.]
’Ban her... I beg you.’
[The lesser entity, Dragon Empress With A Thousand Peach Piercings, has been banned from chat for a day.]
’I didn’t think that would work.’
[An unknown entity sponsors a stat point to the User.]
’...ignore her, she’ll go away if I ignore her...’
[An unknown entity sponsors two stat points to the User.]
’Goddamnit!’

"Here we are," Adrian mumbled, standing before a familiar inn.
The girls looked at the place, and Sophia and Amelia usually made faces when asked to spend their time there. But not anymore. A’Mila, on the other hand, found everything so new and intriguing and was busy gawking at every little thing.
Thankfully, their ’disguise’ worked, and no one bothered them while on the way there.
"It’s not that bad from the inside," Adrian reassured the girls as they walked through the doors.
As they entered the inn, the foul smell from their clothes and hairs flooded the place. The patrons seated at nearby tables wrinkled their noses in disgust as they caught a whiff of the newcomers.
Adrian approached the Innkeeper, who hastily covered his face with a handkerchief to ward off the offensive odour. Before the Innkeeper could say anything, Adrian tossed a bunch of Radian Shards onto the counter, the shiny gems catching the Innkeeper’s eye.
"This much should be enough for two rooms and a secret?" Adrian mumbled softly.
The Innkeeper got wide-eyed, his gaze shifting from Adrian’s cloaked face to the Radian shards lying on the table. Initially, he was about to turn them away due to their smell, but he changed his mind when he heard Adrian’s voice.
"Bless my stars, it’s been ages since we’ve seen you!" the Innkeeper exclaimed. "Welcome back, my beloved sir! Let me find you the finest rooms available, and as always, drinks are on the house!"
