Chapter 150: It Wasn’t Supposed To Be This Difficult (2)
Since the water impeded his movement, Adrian decided to take the fight elsewhere. Although he wasn’t sure, he was willing to take the risk.
As the creature approached, Adrian took out the minotaur’s sword and swung it around with all his might. He then proceeded to trigger [Minon Fury] to hasten the process.
The sword sliced through the water, creating a swirling vortex that protected him from the water’s pressure while shielding him from the merman’s attacks.
The merman shrieked as it realised something was amiss. However, it was too late to back down. The vortex sucked it inside like a black hole, with no hope of escaping.
The water churned and toiled around Adrian as the vortex intensified, its spiralling currents threatening to engulf everything in their path.
Adrian stopped once the vortex turned into a whirlpool of massive proportions and could carry the momentum itself. It was time to enact his plan’s next phase, and he began hunting for the merman in the chaotic currents.
He noticed the merman’s tail from the corner of his eyes and jumped towards the beast, grabbing its tail. The merman tried to bite him again, but Adrian smacked it in the head with the hilt of his sword, knocking it out.
’It should happen at any moment now...’
On cue, the whirlpool began collapsing. The pressure from the collapse flung them upwards, as Adrian had predicted. It was a gamble, but it paid off. Now, all that was left was to use the momentum wisely.
Adrian’s heart raced as they left the darkness of the deep ocean behind, greeting the sun above. All the while, Adrian had a tight grip around the merman’s tail, refusing to let go of the beast.
Hurtling through the sky, the wind whipped through his hair as he soared ever higher. Once their descent was about to begin, Adrian let go of the merman before turning to slash it with the blade.
Safe to say, the merman eventually went back into the water... but as freshly cut sashimi.

"I never really liked seafood, but I gotta admit, it’s kinda fun chopping the fishies."
While most entities laughed alongside him, being in awe of his presence of mind, not everyone was pleased with his comments.
[The higher entity, Tamer of The Raging Seas, is displeased with the User’s attitude and feels disrespected.]
[The higher entity, Tamer of The Raging Seas, is trying to curse the User.]
The entities were shocked to see a Higher entity getting so enraged or a joke and rushed to stop the mishap.
[The entity, Sin of Sloth, objects to the request but is too powerless to do anything.]
[The entity, Mother Who Loves Her Plants, urges fellow entities to protest against the blatant misuse of power.]
[The entities are causing chaos.]

Adrian was taken aback by the sudden notifications. Moreover, he was surprised that merely commenting on chopping fishes would get an entity so enraged that they’d try to place a curse on him.
Unfortunately, Adrian had other things to worry about, like surviving the fall without getting injured. If he wanted to continue with the trials. His arms flailed wildly the next moment as he plummeted toward the sea.
Suddenly, a door materialised below him, waiting for him to fall through. After what happened with the last gate, Adrian didn’t want to take any chance and end up in a pool of lava.
"I’m done for the day! Let me leave!" Adrian shrieked, hoping to dodge the door.
Instead, he banged his head on the doorframe before slipping into the darkness within the portal.
For a moment, he felt weightless, disoriented, and utterly confused. But that all disappeared a moment later. Slowly, Adrian opened his eyes, blinking until his hazy vision improved.
Adrian stirred from his slumber, blinking sleepily as he gradually became aware of his surroundings. His eyes widened in confusion as he found himself nestled between A’Mila’s squishy thighs, his head resting comfortably against her soft skin.
Thankfully, A’Mila was also asleep, helping Adrian dodge a weird conversation.
’...I should probably get up,’ Adrian thought, but as he wa about to move, a blinking system notification appeared in front of his eyes.
[The Harmony Trial would resume the following day, granting the User another five attempts to progress through the subsequent stages of the trial.]
[Completion rewards for stage five of Harmony Trials can be claimed now. Click ’Yes’ to claim the rewards.]
’Five attempts each day,’ Adrian thought, forgetting about A’Mila and everything else. ’It should be plenty to clear the trial tomorrow.’
Without a second thought, he reached out to tap yes. Unfortunately, the notification was blocking the sight of what was behind and his hand inadvertently brushed against A’Mila’s chest.
"Adrian?" she murmured, still sleepy, but that didn’t remain the case until she realised what Adrian was doing.
Adrian’s heart skipped a beat as he realised his mistake, his cheeks flushing with embarrassment. They looked at each other and then at his hand, repeating the motion a couple of times.
"I-I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to—" he stammered, but his words got cut off abruptly as A’Mila’s hand shot out, delivering a swift and powerful slap across his cheek.
"YOU PERVERT!"
The strike sent Adrian tumbling down the window and crashing on the ground with a loud thud. The scuffle woke Fenris up, who was sleeping peacefully.
But instead of rushing to her master’s aid, she yawned and went back to sleep. Why should she waste her precious sleeping time on her perverted master?
A’Mila, on the other hand, rushed to the window and noticed Adrian lying face-first on the ground.
"Are you okay?" she called out, her voice filled with worry. "I didn’t mean to hit you that hard!"
"It’s... fine..." He groaned in pain, his body aching from the impact, but he managed to raise a shaky thumb to reassure A’Mila. "I shouldn’t have touched you like that-"
Adrian stopped once he realised he wasn’t alone there, and a small crowd had gathered around who could listen to their conversation.
Only when the tribals pointed at him did Adrian realise he was shirtless, and thanks to his sudden trip downstairs, his appearance was disbelieved.
Everything pointed towards a disaster.
Meanwhile, the crowd whispered amongst themselves, wondering about the nature of Adrian and A’Mila’s relationship.
Some assumed they were romantically involved, while others speculated that A’Mila’s reaction was due to her inexperience in matters of intimacy or she was just as bold in bed as she was in real life.
Ignoring the talks, Adrian scrambled to his feet, his cheeks burning with embarrassment. Without wasting another second, he rushed inside, leaving everyone wondering what happened between them.
