"The scroll... it disappeared!" Skaha whispered, his voice barely audible.

"What scroll- Wait... ’that’ scroll?" Ahuli replied, taken aback. "How did it happen?"

"Keep it down!" Skaha replied anxiously, looking around.

Despite capturing countless heroes, the average level of the tribe was below level 40, with the exception of Ahuli, Skaha and a few others. The only reason the tribe walked without fear was because of their ’slaves’.

However, if the tribe learned about the missing scroll, all hell would break loose. The scroll was missing, but they had to act quickly and discreetly to find the culprits before chaos erupted.

"I interrogated the guards, but they didn’t see anyone entering or leaving," Skaha urged. "We need to do something, and we gotta do it fast!"

"I’ll tell the gatekeeper to lockdown the settlement," Ahuli nodded, grabbing his spear. "Meanwhile, you should keep an eye on the slaves. Even if someone has the scroll, it would take some time to decode it."

Skaha understood what Ahuli was going for. He wanted to ensure that even if someone had the scroll and managed to decode it, they would never reach the slaves to unseal their abilities.

In the meantime, Ahuli and his hounds would look through the settlement to find the culprit. Skaha nodded and left the enclosure. Ahuli returned to where Milka was, but he was nowhere to be seen.

’It couldn’t have been him... could it?’ Ahuli wondered.

While the situation made it seem like that, it couldn’t have been possible. Ahuli trusted Milka and dismissed the thought.

’He wanted to go hunting, so he probably figured my talk with Uncle would last a while and left.’

Little did Ahuli know that his way of thinking would ruin the tribe.

The security around the barns quadrupled within minutes, and all the slaves were instructed to go inside the barns. While the tribe guarded the barns against the outside, Sophia and Amelia worked their magic on the inside.

Slowly, the shackles binding the heroes were released, and they were itching for revenge. But Amelia and Sophia calmed them down. While they understood their raging emotions, the girls knew the heroes were out of practice.

Despite regaining their abilities, they were weaker than they used to be due to lack of practice. If they attacked the tribe now, quite a few might die, and Adrian had warned them about it. Their turn for revenge would come, but they had to bid their time now.

In reality, Adrian knew the heroes could handle the Tulkas on their own, but he didn’t want them acting alone.

It would ruin his plan if they rushed into battle and Ahuli managed to overpower them. Adrian aimed to launch a coordinated attack from two sides on the Tulkas, and for that, he needed the heroes to wait for the right moment.

That was one reason he instructed Amelia and Sophia to unseal the heroes from one barn. They could help the rest when he returned, and the battle started.

"...and that’s it!" Amelia smiled as she unsealed the abilities of yet another hero.

She grabbed a healing potion and drank all of it. While it might not seem like it, unsealing the heroes was more challenging than she had expected. Depending on the hero’s level and rank, unsealing them could take anywhere from 30% to 60% of their HP.

Amelia then picked up someone else to help carefully unseal the abilities of one of the heroes, her brow furrowed. Suddenly, Sophia walked up to her, her expression urgent as she grabbed Amelia’s arm and pulled her away.

"What’s going on?" Amelia asked, confused by the interruption.

"...you know already," Sophia replied tersely. "Everyone is getting restless. As the number of unsealed heroes increases, so does their tantrums. We need to do something before they lose control."

Amelia sighed as she looked around. She knew the heroes had endured years of enslavement, and the desire for revenge burned fiercely within them. But they had to stop them before they did something rash.

"We have to keep them under control till Adrian returns," Amelia muttered to Sophia. "But I don’t know how much longer we can hold them back."

Just then, Nicola, the centaur from the previous generation of heroes known for his mastery over dual swords, trotted over with a frown.

"How much longer are we supposed to wait here?" he grumbled, crossing his arms before his chest.

Amelia exchanged a worried look with Sophia. Nicola’s impatience mirrored that of the other heroes, and she knew their words would determine what would happen next.

"We’re working on it, senior," Sophia replied, bowing before the centaur to show him some respect, hoping it would tone down his anger. "Just give us a little more time."

"A little more time, she says." With a snort, he turned away, muttering under his breath as he stomped off.

Sophia and Amelia didn’t know, but Nicola’s reaction was a signal to the others. The heroes seized their opportunity. They charged out of the barn with a roar, their powers cackling as they descended upon the tribal guards stationed outside.

"No!" Sophia cried, lunging forward in a futile attempt to stop them.

But it was too late. The heroes had already killed the guards and were now charging towards the main settlement.

Amelia watched helplessly as chaos erupted around her. Just then, a horn echoed through the air, signalling that the tribe had been alerted of their little stunt.

"We have to go," Sophia said, her voice strained and anger leaked from her eyes. "We can’t stay here any longer."

"FUCK!" Amelia cursed, rushing outside.

It was pandemonium. As Adrian predicted, the heroes couldn’t control their powers after so long and were causing unnecessary damage wherever they went.

Grabbing Sophia’s hand, Amelia led her towards another barn. Their plans had been thrown into disarray, but they couldn’t afford to give up. As the tribe scrambled to respond to the attack, they knew they had to act quickly.

"We need to free the others," Amelia said with urgency as they rushed towards the barns where Vincent and the others were being held. "Before it’s too late."
