Chapter 57: She Has To Be Mine!
"Are you sure you don’t know the Kensington family?" Damian asked as he raised an eyebrow.
"Should I?" I kept my tone polite, not wanting to show any reaction. "Are they that important?"
"No, no need and sure... they are not that important," he replied, looking a bit taken aback. "Sorry, my mistake. I thought you looked familiar." He started to walk away but then stopped and glanced back. "So, are you here to audition?"
I opened my mouth to respond, but Sissy beat me to it.
"Yes! She is here to audition for Timeless Love— it’s a minor third-character role, but still important!" Sissy chirped, practically bouncing with excitement. "If you are part of this, Mr. Storme, she will be thrilled, even if it means playing as a chair or a street light!"
I cringe. Oh, Sissy... embarrassing me, as usual. You were the one who wanted it more than me!
"Really?" Damian raised an eyebrow, clearly amused. "You know, even if you keep denying it, I know you were at the mansion that night."
"I told you already— I wasn’t there!" I almost yelled but soon composed myself.
"Alright, alright!" He held up his hands, still grinning as he looked me over, as if studying every detail. "Actually, you are perfect. Just what I was looking for."
"Excuse me?" I asked as I frowned
"Oh, nothing. Go ahead with your audition," he said, flashing me a playful smile. "Just don’t forget to give it your best." And with that, he walked away, leaving me even more confused— and slightly irritated.
"What was that?" I muttered. I had admired his work, but after seeing him at Evander’s mansion, somehow, I had started disliking him. "Let’s go!" I turned toward Sissy and said, but seeing her drooling over Damian made me want to smack her head.
"Let’s leave, and I am telling you! You can’t hit on him! He is not your regular man," I warned her as I gave her a deadly glare.
"Fine! I don’t want to flirt with him either! I just like him as an idol and nothing else," Sissy replied as she quickly wiped out her drool.
"Yeah, sure! Your idol!" I rolled my eyes and walked away from her, as I didn’t wish to indulge myself with her weird fantasies.

Evander’s POV
"Zaniel, the script looks good. I will go to the meeting later," I told him as I focused back on my work.
"Alright, boss!" Zaniel said as he dialed Damian’s number to update him. But apparently, Damian wanted to talk to me directly.
"What does he want now?" I muttered, frowning. "I am really not in the mood to talk."
"But Mr. Storme insists it’s really important to talk to you," Zaniel said, looking at me with pleading eyes. He was clearly hoping I would agree.
"Fine, give me the phone," I sighed as I grabbed it from him and immediately hung up the call. "And don’t bother me again," I said through clenched teeth.
Zaniel stared at me as he seemed frustrated but was holding back. "Boss, if you are going to torture me like this, you might as well just fire me!"
"Just leave me alone, Zaniel," I replied, waved him off. He turned to leave, but just then, my own phone began buzzing.
"This guy! Why won’t he stop calling?" I muttered, and I was clearly annoyed. I had wanted to make plans with Claire, but between all these interruptions, it felt impossible. I had barely slept and was thinking about her the whole time, the last night.
I had told the doctors to make sure Claire stayed until she was fully better, but the next time I checked, she had already left, ignoring their advice. She never listened, and when I tried to reach out to her, she didn’t even bother to receive my call.
How was I going to make her mine? She has to be mine or else I will burn the whole world!
"Boss, are you going to answer that?" Zaniel asked, gesturing to my phone, which was still buzzing.
"Fine," I sighed as I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard his voice and answered the call. "What now? Didn’t I say I would be there on time?"
"Relax, man," Damian chuckled on the other end. "Can’t you just hear me out?"
"What do you want?" I asked in an impatient voice. The sooner I listened, the sooner he would stop bothering me and I then only I could have some peace.
"Hey, I don’t want anything," Damian said with that smug tone, and I could imagine his smirk . "You already agreed to invest in my project and to attend the meeting, so we are good there."
"Then why call?" I grumbled. "I have thousand other things to do than entertain you? I you have some to say... say it or else..."
"Alright, alright," he interrupted me, sounding overly excited. "But listen— I just saw someone interesting today," he added, clearly trying to spark my curiosity, but my mind was only on Claire.
I rolled my eyes, ready to end the call, as I truly was not interested. However, I decided to hear him out, or else my cell phone wouldn’t stop buzzing. "Who is this ’someone’ you are so hyped about?"
"Man! Remember that woman at your home? I mean... Baby Eliam’s Nanny?" Damian asked.
"I already told you a thousand times that I am already married, and I don’t wish to know about any woman!" I responded in a cold tone. Being tolerant was really not my thing.
