Chapter 462: What is she doing here?
Both Tori and Max were confused by Piper’s sweet smile. They were expecting to get cursed by her for destroying her life cruelly but the moment she opened her mouth, both were left stunned.
"I have forgiven you both a long time ago" she finally said leaving the two astonished by her words.
Sharing a glance at each other both Max and Tori stood up. "But... how..." Tori asked feeling conflicted about how easily Piper forgave them for their sin.
They played with her life almost killing her, yet she chose to forgive them.
Piper moved her eyes between the two and kept smiling. "I know it’s difficult for you to believe but trust me I don’t hold any grudge against you both, because Master told me everything"
"Master" Tori mumbled as Richard’s face crossed her mind and she gaped at Piper in shock.
"Yes, he told me everything, and trust me I don’t hold any kind of anger against you both" Piper assured as she helped herself stand holding the handle of her walker.
Tori and Max were lost for words, but the moment Piper’s smiling face came into their view their heart finally came at peace.
As she took a step closer to Tori, Piper reached her hand and caressed her face lovingly.
"Didn’t I tell you? You remind me of my daughter and can a mother be upset with her child? No right"
Piper was a kind-hearted lady who liked taking care of everyone. Even when Tori had no clue about her surroundings Piper was patient enough to teach her everything.
She treated her like her daughter and that motherly love swept into her heart.
Letting all the doubt fall from her heart, Tori pounced at Piper and hugged her.
"I am so sorry Piper." she cried once again and this time while she embraced her.
Max too stood there with his head down ashamed of the crime he did back then. Only if he could turn back the time, he wouldn’t have been this cruel to ruin anyone’s life.
"Why are you standing there young man? Don’t you want to hug me?" Piper’s voice made Max raise his head and the moment she motioned him to join them, he took the opportunity and hugged the lady.
Max was a child without a mother. He didn’t know how his mother looked as he had no recollection of her memories. Some said she was killed while others said she died after giving birth to him.
All he remembered was his father who was a devotee of the Poker clan. He was a loyal subordinate to Johnson and he expected Max to also commit his life to protecting Gabriel.
He did what his boss told him at that time. But only if they knew the reason behind being played, they wouldn’t have been repenting.
The trio stood there hugging each other when a lady walked out of the kitchen carrying a tray of two glasses of water in her hand.
"It’s so good to see you both. We have never seen Mother this happy" Chelsea, Piper’s daughter-in-law said as she made her way towards them and placed the tray on the small table next to them.
Piper had a very small family, her son and two daughters one of which the younger one died. She was mostly been taken care of by her son while her eldest daughter married and lived with her husband in the next town.
Tori and Max pulled back from the hug. They felt like a huge burden was being lifted from their heart after Piper forgave them.
Giving Chelsea a polite smile both Tori and Max took the seat. They spend their entire day chatting with Piper and her family. She even went on playing with her grandkids.
Since her son was the one who worked on the farm he joined them in the evening. After having dinner, they finally bid her goodbye.

[ Neuro Bar]
After an argument with Linda, Ryan lost all his hopes. He wanted her to leave everything and settle down with him somewhere far away. He wanted to have a small family and he was also ready to take his work seriously.
But she declined everything.
Linda didn’t want to have a normal life away from all the luxury she had been growing up to. For her money came first. She was also ready to leave him for the shares that she would obtain from her grandfather.
"Ah... was she ever in love with me" He sighed and gulped another drink that the bartender served him.
He had been boozing the entire evening trying to forget those hurtful words Linda said while she left his apartment. She said she wouldn’t back off from getting married to Karl and if wasn’t going to support her then she would do it alone.
Ryan was heartbroken over Linda’s decision. He was lost and unable to find any way that stop her marriage with Karl.
As he kept drowning in his misery, someone came and stood by his side.
"One whiskey on the rocks?" a girlish voice caught his attention and he quickly turned to his side.
Gwen stepped forward and sat on the counter chair. She looked at him and passed him a smile before turning her attention towards the bartender.
Ryan quickly recognized her and wondered what was Gwen doing here.
Even in his drowsy state, his brain was able to function properly, and the moment he saw Gwen his vision cleared and he slowly brought the glass closer to his lips and started sipping it slowly.
Ryan had known Gwen since he had been tailing her for a long time updating Linda on her whereabouts, but Gwen, she had never seen him.
So he wanted to take the opportunity to know why would Gwen even step into a bar unless...
Shooting his eyes in her direction, Ryan watched the girl gulp the whiskey in one go. Scrunching her brows at the awful taste of the drink, she asked the bartender to make another one.
"Slow girl... if you can’t handle it why are you even drinking?" unable to hold back his tongue Ryan finally decided to talk.
