Chapter 461: Meeting Piper
Chapter 461: Meeting Piper
After another thirty minutes of driving, Max finally stopped the car in front of a small house.
"We are here" his throat ran dry, as he spoke.
Tori snapped out of her trance and turned her head toward the left. Staring at the small row house, she took a few deep breaths as nervousness started taking over her calmness once again.
It took her a while to compose back before she stepped out of the car and stood facing the house.
Max too followed her lead. His palms sweat due to nervousness but still, he decided to fight back his fears and face reality.
Walking around, he stood next to Tori and followed her line of sight.
They were currently standing outside Piper’s house. After whatever happened to her Tori blamed herself for ruining someone’s life who was always nice to her.
The guilt of harming Piper left a deep mark on her heart. Not only she but even Max regretted his wrongdoings and now with Tori’s help he wanted to seek her forgiveness.
They all got played by Sandra’s fake death and their urge to seek revenge made them do sinful things. Now that they all knew the truth, the guilt inside their heart couldn’t be silenced.
They didn’t know if they even had the face stand her defeated eyes but still they wanted to seek her forgiveness.
Tori always saw a glimpse of her mother in Piper. She remembered once mentioning her late daughter and how she reminded her of her. The motherly love she got from Piper developed a soft corner for the old lady in her heart and now she wanted to make up for the crime she did.
Taking a deep breath, she calmed her beating heart and said," Let’s go" With that they both opened the small gate of the row house.
She remembers Richard mentioning that Piper was recovering faster than they thought. She still had the left side of her body paralyzed but the woman was too determined to overcome her flaw.
The moment she entered the gates, her eyes scanned the small house. Though it was small, she could feel homely vibes from it. She remembered spending her days in a small house along with her mother before she took a big step in taking her life.
Though they had nothing still the house was warm enough to get her through difficult times because her mother was still there with her. She couldn’t give her the emotional support she needed but her presence was enough for her.
As Tori stood by the gate she recalled those memories and tears well in her eyes.
"Whose it..." an elderly voice snapped her out of her thoughts and her eyes went towards the main door of the house from where she saw Piper walking out.
She used a walker to balance her partially paralyzed body, but her curious eyes squinted as she tried looking toward her.
Tori’s heart skipped a beat when she noticed how Piper’s steps halted and she remained rooted on the spot.
Guilt swept through her heart but then she watched Piper smile at her as if she was happy to see her and the tears she had been holding all this time rolled down her eyes.

[Inside]
"I am so sorry Piper. I am responsible for everything that happened to you" Tori cried holding Piper’s hand. She regretted all her actions. The lies she said to cover her crime, she regretted everything.
She knew if she had been quick enough, she would’ve stopped Max from injecting her with a drug that led her to this half-senseless body
"She is not entirely at fault. It’s me who made you like this" This time it was Max who kneeled before the woman almost touching her feet.
Piper gasped at Max’s gesture. She never remembered seeing him before. Even when she was injected with the drug she didn’t see Max as her back faced him the entire time.
But when she remembered his voice, she looked down at him. Piper blamed him for making her life dependent on others. She never thought her life would turn upside down but it did on that dreadful night.
The way she felt helpless to even open her mouth until she drooled, but no words came out. She wanted to stop them from making the mistake but she couldn’t and in the end she gave up.
She knew it was useless for her when she couldn’t even move herself or speak a word because the drug had affected her body in such a way that even her brain couldn’t function properly.
But she was fortunate enough that she was able to give Richard the letter she had written. Though she failed once, still she was able to give him a clue of what was happening inside the house.
Though she couldn’t help him find them still she did everything in her power before Richard departed her with her son.
Since that day, he had been looking after her medical expenses. They were just normal people who worked on farms earning very little. It was only she who got a job at the Brown mansion for skills.
She was not only the woman Raven trusted but even Richard considered her as his sister. She was like a family to them, then how wasn’t she supposed to stand up for them when she knew something wrong was lurking around them?
As time went by Richard came to check on her every month and kept her informed about everything. He also told her about Tori, Max, and Gabriel who were played by Sandra, and the reason they stood against them all the time.
The little bit of angst she had in her heart dissipated when she heard the entire story and it was the day when she forgave them.
They were kids who got manipulated by a vicious scheme planned by Sandra and she was glad that they finally came to meet her and ask for her forgiveness.
The shock on Piper’s face changed into a smile and she helped Mac stand up using her right hand.
"Get up son," she said with her hoarse voice and watched both Tori and Max look at her confusingly.
They were hoping for Piper to lash out at them or even say some heartless words to make them remorseful.
But what they were seeing actually caught them by shock.
’Why would she smile at us’ they both had the same thought as they shared a glance at one another before looking back at Piper.
