Clicking the door open, Karl and Gwen entered his house. It had been so long since they last met each other.

After whatever happened with Ashley, everyone inside the house was busy encouraging her. She too wanted to spend some time with her and cheer her up.

But now when everything was back to normal she couldn’t stop herself from meeting him.

Placing the grocery bags on the table, Gwen rushed into the kitchen and poured two glasses of water for them, and walked out.

"Here" passing him the glass, she then sat next to him on the couch.

"Finally we got time for each other," she said placing the empty glass on the side table and leaned back resting her head on Karl’s shoulder.

Karl too finished drinking the water and wrapping her arms around his hand he too leaned the side of his face on her head, resting peacefully for some time.

There were so many things they had to deal with, but being close to each other always gave them a sense of relief. No matter how difficult the situation stood against them, they both were ready to fight for each other.

"Karl, what should we do now?" she asked slowly opening her eyes and titled her head up to look at him.

Linda’s matter was yet to be resolved. The way she was determined on having Karl, made her worry.

Though she appeared to be strong in front of him, still a part of her heart was worried.

Karl pulled his head away and turned to look at her. On his way home, he informed her about the phone calls and numerous messages he received from her.

With him busy with finding Ashley made him ignore her but the girl didn’t stop there. She was so eager to talk with him that she even came to visit him at home.

Fortunately, he had already asked the guard to inform him about her, he immediately called him. He had to give an excuse by lying to her and that was when she finally decided to leave.

"I don’t know... my brain isn’t working anymore" Karl helplessly replied.

He was so done with Linda, that he just wanted to expose her in front of everyone, but he also knew, he didn’t have much proof, to prove her guilty.

Gwen pursed her lips into a thin line and straightened up. Reaching her hand she caressed his face. She knew it was her fault for doubting him when she knew Karl would never betray her.

She was so blinded by her insecurity and jealousy that she didn’t think twice before blaming him. If only she had faced the situation with a clear head, they wouldn’t have to meet each other like this secretly.

Karl’s uneasiness melted in her touch and he leaned closer brushing his cheek against her palm and sighed closing his eyes.

"Don’t stress so much. I know we will surely find a way" Gwen said as she comforted him.

The tiredness Karl felt a few minutes ago was now replaced with courage. With Gwen by his side, he knew he wouldn’t fail.

"By the way, what do you want to eat for lunch," Gwen asked changing the topic. She didn’t want them to spoil their moment thinking about Linda.

They already wasted a lot of time stressing and wondering what was Linda up to and now she didn’t want them to prolong it anymore.

Quickly changing their mood, Gwen stood up pulled Karl along, and entered the kitchen.

"Are you going to cook today?" Karl asked as he watched Gwen put on the apron.

"Yes. So now come on and tell me what you want to eat" she said picking up the knife in the air while waiting for his response.

Karl crossed his hand over his chest and rubbed his chin. He appeared to be thinking about something when suddenly his eyes sparkled.

Reaching his hand out, Karl took the knife from her hand and placed it aside before grabbing her wrist and pulling her against him.

"How about I have you for lunch," he said with a seductive tone making Gwen gulp deeply.

Gwen almost forgot to breathe as she scanned her face with utmost shock and saw him smile. The lift of his lip struck her mind and she realized Karl was pulling her leg.

Pursing her lips into a thin line, she pressed her palm on his chest and pushed him. "No!... you can’t and now stop teasing me, okay"

Frowning, Gwen quickly looked away and leaned against the kitchen island as she tried to calm herself.

A blush crept through her cheeks tainting it pink, leaving her embarrassed about how skillfully Karl was able to catch her off guard.

’He was surely getting better with it’ she thought quickly cupping her cheeks.

Karl who noticed her flustered look couldn’t help but laugh. Not just her face that was burning red, but even the tip of her ears had turned crimson red.

Listening to him laugh Gwen shot her head in his direction and fumed. She so wanted to throw tantrums, but the moment she noticed how contagiously he smiled, all her anger flew out of the window.

Just the sight of him being happy soothed her heart and unknowingly even she began to smile.

After a burst of much laughter, they finally resume where they stopped and, after much thought, Karl suggested they should have pasta.

Agreeing with his request, Gwen started the preparation with Karl helping her out. With him chopping the needed vegetable, Gwen placed the pot filled with water to boil.

The couple was so busy preparing the meal when suddenly they heard the doorbell ring.

"Whose it," Gwen asked turning her head in the direction of the kitchen door when they again heard the bell ring.

"Let me check. Till then you continue chopping them" Karl said and quickly washed his hand before rushing outside the kitchen.

The moment he reached the door, his eyes fell on the screen only to widen them in shock.

"Linda..." he almost whispered out her name suddenly feeling frozen on the ground.
